ICT vs Cove
Man what a horrible weekend of footy for me! ICT drop 2 points @ home on a 94+ minute equaliser from the oppostion keeper TFC drop 2 points @ home on a 97+ minute equaliser where the opposition keeper was in the box (but did not score) My son played 2 competitive games over the weekend for his U13 team and we lost both of those .... oh, and we went from +15 temperatures on Thursday to a snowstorm on Saturday too

ICT FC Confirmation Statement on Companies House website
You are correct. 100% of the shares, including the 10% voting right assigned to the Supporters Trust shares, which started life under the members' club when the club was formed are gone. FC Inverness Ltd are confirmed to own all 6102370 ordinary shares in INVERNESS THISTLE AND CALEDONIAN F.C. LIMITED. In practical terms, it means AS can do whatever he likes, and the board membership is at his whim. If he and someone else disagree then he will (or can) always win. Personally, I would say it is not really a board in the traditional sense, but rather a set of advisors who can hopefully keep him grounded to the opinions and feelings of fans, sponsors and the local business community for the good of the club and his own reputation. The alternative is that we may not have existed or may have had Ketan Makwana and our former CEO at the helm. It was a condition of AS's involvement that he had 100% of the shares so that he could make decisions unencumbered. He may want to develop things, he may want to make shares available to some large donors, he may want to sell the club to a worthy owner in future. He could not do that with the fractured nature of our shares. Its a risk, but it was a better risk than the other alternatives and ultimately, he was at pains to point out that he wanted to give back to the city that has been good to him, so screwing up the football club or asset striping like some people may have done is not in his best interests. We - as shareholders - had to choose between keeping the club going under AS or retaining our shares and taking our chances. We chose AS. On the plus side since admin, I think he has shown that he has the club interests at heart. He put money in the kitty all through administration to avoid us being quite as much of a ****show as Hamilton. He appointed Mr ICT (Charlie) as CEO. He retained Kells as manager who has done pretty well so far (I know some will grumble but that's always the way - can't please everyone). Everything he has done to this point has been set out for the club to have local hands on the tiller at every level. Adding side businesses that the club may benefit from, and which may also benefit himself or his partner, or draw in potential future sponsors (like the 'owner' of the NC500 perhaps) are logical and if he makes a few quid out of it himself then he deserves it. A few years ago, the council plan had the stadium as a hub for recreational development in that area of the longman, perhaps that may begin to develop now and in the future and if it does then more opportunities may exist to develop the club revenues beyond the fortnightly home game 18 times a year.

Stenny @ Home Feb2026
Have to agree! I do love my stats, but you can typically use most stats to prove how useless stats themselves are ... at least 50% of the time anyway ;) The number of bookings this weekend might make us look (statistically) like a dirty team, but the overwhelming feedback seems to be a shi**y ref and a diving shower on the opposition side. The ones that I still cant quite get my head around are XG and XGA. I read the definitions and my eyes glazed over. Those are now in common use but seem to be of more use to bookies and coaches than the average punter.

Unusual, Imaginative and inventive football club names
I guess you could add LA Galaxy, Colorado Rapids, Chicago Fire FC, New England Revolution, Portland Timbers, Philadelphia Union, San Jose Earthquakes and Columbus Crew to the list. Some of the names make sense based on where they are or their club origin, but surprisingly, 23 of 30 MLS teams have 'normal names' either with FC / SC in the name or prefixes like Inter, Real etc. New York Red Bulls rebranded this year to match the RB teams in Europe so are now Red Bull New York.

Unusual, Imaginative and inventive football club names
Given we had temperatures of -30 this weekend then I have to add Toronto Blizzard to that! They were an NASL team that started life as Toronto Metros in 71 then became the Blizzard in 1979 until the league folded in 1984. They are seen as the (tenuous) origin of TFC that followed in 2007. Looking at the former players list on Wikipedia they had Jimmy Bone, Drew Busby, Peter Lorimer, Jimmy Nicholl, as well as - and I kid you not - Roberto Bettega & Eusebio (in 1976). The USL is also home to a few belters of names ... Tampa Bay Rowdies as previously mentioned are still on the go but my favourite in that league has to have been the Rochester Raging Rhinos, later renamed Rochester Rhinos - perhaps they calmed down - who ceased operations last year ... Other classics include: Boston Bolts, Charleston Battery, El Paso Locomotive (where Nick Ross ended up), Long Island Roughriders, New England Mutiny, Portland Bangers & the Portland Cherry Bombs. Full list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_Soccer_League_clubs Thankfully in (most) of Canada the names are sensible ... In the CPL there is "Forge FC" from Hamilton which is/was nicknamed 'Steeltown' so the name of the club makes sense. That's about as exotic as it gets unless you count Atletico Ottawa or Halifax Wanderers. Drop down into the semi-pro leagues and you get a few interesting names including Edmonton Scottish who apparently were founded by Scots immigrants in 1909 but again, most are traditional names with either some prefix or FC or SC tagged on the end.

2025/26 Squad
Must have been an absolute doozy of a conversation then! Leaving aside the betting and COVID bans, Dick Campbell got 7 games for confronting a ref after storming the pitch, and any other lengthy bans I can find (all less than 10 games) are either for fights or for 'slurs' uttered towards other players. Only Dave Bowman is the exception with a 17-game ban. He got 5 red cards in a single game after getting the first for a bad tackle. He went ballistic at the decision and later acknowledged it wasnt his finest moment! He got three more cards for refusing to leave the pitch, giving the referee his 'views' on the card and trying to snatch it out of his hand and finally kicking the referee's dressing room door and getting the fifth. Even in England, John Terry only got 12 games for headbutting the referee.

2025/26 Squad
What did he do? Seem to recall someone saying it would be a lengthy ban after the match a few weeks ago but yes, a lot of silence about why ... If you google all the lengthy bans in Scotland, then most are for betting but clearly that is not the case here.

David Sutherland
Was browsing the Courier website when I came across a couple of articles on our former chairman and benefactor David Sutherland. Written by experienced journalist Val Sweeney, They are well worth a read. I am sure he has a few stories to tell, at least some of which might involve encountering the late @IMMORTAL HOWDEN ENDER on some of the away days when we organised get togethers back when he was chairman. However, it is sad to read that he himself might not remember these at some point in future now that he has made it known he has been struggling with dementia since it was diagnosed 4 years ago. We are lucky that we have had people at our club like David Sutherland throughout the years whether it was Dougie McGillvray, Ken Thompson, Kenny Cameron and of course now Alan Savage. Without those benefactors and the emotional as well as business involvement they gave to the club, all we might have right now is those memories or some form of Phygital presence on the internet. DFS was, in my opinion, a great chairman. Some liked him, some did not, but I was lucky to spend time with him, Kenny and Ken back in the day as they sought to protect and run the club in much the way Alan Savage has navigated similar waters more recently and got us back to a similar mindset of fiscal responsibility and stability. DFS steered us through tough times in his own way, not always making friends, but always I believe having the club's interests at heart. I/We wish him well in his ongoing health battles now and in the future. ICTFC TV
My son watches a pretty popular YouTuber called "Chuffster" and most of what he posts is football related. Got quite a shock when the Caledonian Stadium showed up a couple of times in his videos. First for this pixellot farce and then there was the Aaron Doran corner kick goal that wasnt ... although in the Chuffster video it is noted as a goal, but the proper footage online shows it was disallowed.

First game
The bar at the ground used to be good. Back in the day we had a few longer than expected sessions with the home support in the bar at the ground and made a few friends who visited us in the Caley Inn for the home fixture. Haven't been there in years though as these days I plan my travel for home games.

Stenny away Dec2025
There has to be a reason why multiple managers kept Kells on after previous managers departed and I would hazard a guess that he has learned a lot from them all (although I seem to recall he singled out Yogi in an interview as being the manager he felt he learned most from). 100% No to Robbo, or Dodds. Kells has earned his shot so far and that should not change. If however, we are looking for mentorship for him as and when he does get us to a higher division, then I would look closer to home with perhaps Charlie giving him the benefit of being ICT manager in the Premier League or Pele who guided us through all the division up to what is now the Championship.

Hamilton - 6
I guess this is kind of my point. The fans are the ones who get hard done by, and the people who caused the situation simply walk away. The punishment has no effect on them and those who want to try and save the club end up with added challenges because of it. I see your point, and yes, someone could definitely game the situation in that manner. Some would argue it has already been done, but that's another discussion. This is why I tend to dislike blanket "one size fits all" decisions or rules. They do have their place, where things are simple and you need uniformity, but when it comes to situations (even simple ones) that may have additional factors or complications, they can be detrimental. I deal with these nuances every day at work, and its (part of) my job to assess if the rule fits and should be applied or we need to make a decision based on individual circumstance. We were so lucky to have Alan Savage come in. At various points in the process where the debt numbers started climbing exponentially or additional layers of alleged incompetence or malfeasance were discovered he could surely have walked away and said "that's enough" but to his credit, and our relief, he did not. I fear that Hamilton do not and will not have anyone like that, and these penalties will make someone who might be tempted to try and save the club just walk away. I have no special place in my heart for Hamilton, feel quite ambivalent to them on any given day to be honest, but still think the powers that be should be doing everything they can to help clubs get back on track when they have had bad owners and a new set of folks are trying to save the - in this case 151 year old - club!
-
Hamilton - 6
I (and you no doubt) would counter that we went through the worst of it with a -15 point penalty at the time, not to mention the s***show that went on to get there, and somehow, SK and the team, without any money, or with a shoestring budget at best, managed to keep us up. The -5 this season serves no real purpose as far as I can see, and I would say that regardless of which team had that penalty applied, it's just an additional punishment on whoever is around to pick up the pieces and try to turn the club (any club) around. As for Hamilton, i think you have to have some empathy here and maybe my viewpoint is shaped by our own experience. A few people are trying to keep the club afloat after a nightmare period. We can all relate to that. If they have an on-field infraction, fair enough, deal with it (as they did) but what they don't need is pen pushers telling them they don't have enough urinals or that they don't have the correct lux level on their floodlights. Give them the warning, give them to next season to rectify it, and if they make it that far then hopefully someone will be able to incorporate the cost of gaining a bronze license into whatever budget they formulate to keep them afloat. If they fold, then the lightbulbs are somewhat irrelevant! unless the administrators can sell them for £££££ I hope your Stenny supporting friend never has to experience what we and other clubs have had to more recently.

Hamilton - 6
I get it that they have messed stuff up, but this just seems like kicking them when they are down or some form of retribution. 6 points earlier and now 9 points today for a combined total of -15 ... do they get another -15 points if they file for admin? The worst part is that this implementation of the rule was only enacted in 2024 for this season and beyond and was roundly criticised by clubs at both ends of the pyramid. It was felt that it was designed to keep non-league teams out of the SPFL and also prevent some teams from moving up within the SPFL. An article at the time quoted one of the non-league clubs saying they estimated it would cost them £20K to attain bronze from Entry level and other teams may be more as they had a modern stadium and some might not. If Hamilton have no money to pay wages, and someone is attempting to do an Alan Savage somehow and rescue them, then £20K to pay for a bronze license they might never need, or that might tip them further into insolvency seems like something you should be empathetic about, not punish the new folk in charge. I felt similar when we were going through this, as the -5 this season seems like a sting in the tail that's not required (for anyone) in the season where you are rebuilding with new ownership after an insolvency event. Luckily for us, SK and the team made that a moot point, but I do sympathise for the good folk at Hamilton and their supporters. Like us, they had no control over the day to day (alleged) shenanigans of the former custodians of their club!

Matchday Programme
Two factors at play for me ... you have to have someone like Bryan Munro who was relentlessly dedicated to driving this 24/7/365, and through his drive and determination, to have others around him - such as Ian Broadfoot or indeed the players and officials - helping supply content or facts and figures. Back then the club did not have a website, there was little to no social media, and even this site was but a fledging corner of the internet so a physical program was an absolute must. The second factor is that rise of the internet and social media itself. As noted above, there is literally nothing you can put in a program that is not already on the internet or socials, and people reading it have little to no unique content to look forward to. Like physical newspapers or CDs and DVDs it is a dying medium, replaced by more instant or modern delivery methods. You will still sell a few due to the nostalgia factor but unlikely to be able to make it self-financing, even if you had another dedicated individual volunteer or group interested in resurrecting it. As a side note, and confirmation its not just an ICT issue ... Toronto FC tried this back in 2007/2008 or thereabouts. The club in its infancy was very much modelled on the British (even Scottish) community club focus as they did not know if it would take off or how ... and programmes (as well as Chip Butties in the concessions) were a small part of that. I have a few copies of the programs issued, and they sold them for about $5 but even subsidising the hell out of it, TFC could not justify retaining it and it died a death in its second season. Only time it was resurrected was for the MLS Cup Finals in 2016 and 2017 but I think the league produced those.

Scottish Cup v Tranent ***GAME ON, HADDINGTON, 10th Dec.
Hard to find accurate info online. I have seen anything from 500 (FootballGroundMap) to 1500 (Wikipedia/Transfermarkt) quoted and the official website for Haddington simply doesn't have a number. East Lothian Courier does note the new stand built in 2024 holds 158. Tranent have said there will be no cash gates on the night, but that all existing tickets remain valid so with their capacity at 2000+ then its going to be in that range I would think, perhaps lower as they will hedge bets that not everyone can make a Wednesday night fixture in East Lothian. so, to answer the question - no, no more tickets available other than those already out there but site users can feel free to start a ticket thread looking for or trying to get rid of your existing tickets.

World Cup 2026 - Draw
Reading a bit more into it in various places tonight and it seems to be mostly economics where Toronto is concerned. Its the smallest stadium at 45,000 whereas Dallas has closer to double that so more tickets and more revenue ... M21 should have been England -V- Croatia (as the #1 seed has the first match in the group) and M22 was Panama -V- Ghana. M21 was scheduled for Toronto and M22 for Dallas. They simply switched them (and others) to make more money by the looks of it.

The players will thank you for it. June and July is bloody hot over here during the day but by 9pm local time it’s cooling off.
