  1. ok. lets get back on topic here ... its the adrenaline fears of the players we are meant to be debating, not the testosterone levels of some of our posters.

yup - from what I have seen and heard, he is the real deal. As someone said a couple of weeks ago, as far as machines go he is a PS3, Dods was a PS2 ..... get him signed up on a decent contract.
  3. Black and Rooney booked for ICT
  4. probably because almost everything looks to be coming down the right at Proctor / Tokes
  5. ICT -V- Celtic Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, 2 PM ...discuss it during the game in the CHATROOM AUDIO COVERAGE Match Commentary (UK/VPN only) Open All Mics - Not Broadcasting LIVE TEXT / SCORES SKY BBC P&J SportBox Sporting Life TEAM LINEUPS
  6. Dont think its workable Birdog - but will certainly submit the question you asked in the BB thread which is along a similar line. We are obligated to give away teams a minimum of 5% of the ground as tickets. Obviously, we know that we give away teams the South Stand and at 2500-ish, that is a little under 33% of capacity so way over our minimum requirement. We could give portions of the south stand to home fans if we wanted, but I believe we have to provide separate segregated facilities for opposing supporters, and for most games dont need it for ourselves so its pretty much a non-starter. I understand what you are saying above, but I think any saving we might make in implementing that if we sold the tickets ourselves would be gobbled up by the cost of pre-sale security measures (trying to control the flow of tickets) or by additional stewarding costs. I could be wrong on this, but I believe that Celtic and Rangers bring a portion of their own stewards to the TCS to police their own crowd and therefore we presumably employ less of our own on OF matchdays than we would if we had to do it all ourselves. If you think back to recent FBOs issued to rangers fans at a couple of grounds, i seem to remember in at least one of the cases, it was as a result of testimony of a club-employed steward at an away ground. (I wonder if they take their own stewards to Falkirk or whether Falkirk have to do it ?) So taking out the ifs ands and maybes, the question becomes ... Is it worth ?5700 per season (less any additional ticketing, administration, and stewarding costs) to go along with the 5% levy. (5700 = the approx difference in your 2350 / 456 equation x 3 OF games at home per season). I would say no personally.
  7. Think we are losing the actual question here ... it is players who went to England after ICT not before. Of the players mentioned so far, here is the rundown. Allan Smart (7 apps): Moved from Caledonian Thistle to Preston in 1994 for a reported fee of about 15K. Scored a total of 6 goals for them and was loaned out to Carlisle and Northampton during that time. Was signed by Carlisle in 96 and then sold to Watford in 98 for 100K. Moved from Watford to Oldham in 2001 for 225K. He has gone to his last 5 clubs on a free. Mark McAllister (66 apps): moved down south with his job in 1995 (?). Cant find any info on who he played for or if he played but seem to remember at the time he said he would like to continue playing. Nicky Walker (34 apps): not eligible for consideration. Played in England for Leicester (80-82) before spells with Motherwell, Rangers, Falkirk, Dunfermline and Hearts and then went on loan to Burnley (92) before returning and playing for Partick, Aberdeen, Ross County and finally ICT Steve Hislop (60 apps): Moved from ICT to Gillingham in 2005. - 4 starts, 7 as sub, 0 goals. Came back to Scotland and went to Livi, then Raith Dean McDonald (7 apps): Went from ICT to Rushden and Diamonds and if Soccerbase is correct made only 3 appearances for them scoring 1 goal. Went on loan to Grays in October 2008 and was released from Grays on 31st December. No word on him actually going back to R&D though. Don Cowie (67 apps): Heading to Watford from ICT on a Bosman ..... not clear ifhe is going by Monday or it will be end of the season. Has the potential to easily eclipse all of the names that went before !!!
  8. I believe he can keep us up, I have to believe it ..... but like any real ICT supporter, I will still be a supporter whether we are in the SPL or any of the lower divisions. I think the majority of people on here are the same ..... Some people have regarded those who have chosen to direct flak at Brewster or the Board as a sign of not supporting the team ..... I would say the opposite. It is because we support the team that we questioned the choices and direction we seemed to be headed in. At the end of the day, TB is now in the hotseat and the vibe on here, and evidently from the stadium and training ground is so much more positive. Its time for us all to do our part and answer the Butcher rallying call. Whether you supported his appointment or not, he is there and we have to remain 100% behind the team and go back to being 100% behind the manager.
  9. I even joined the ST in the last couple of weeks ...... got my shiny new membership card the other day

and your point is ? We didnt move this to the rumour mill as it didnt contain an actual rumour, just another "wishlist" scenario. Equally, we didnt move it to the NON-ICT forum - which we do with most wishlists - as one of the two players is actually training with ICT at the moment and therefore the discussion is ICT related. Its nothing to get worked up about Birdog ... just look forward to tomorrow instead.
  11. Didnt Mark McAllister play for someone down south when he moved away ?
  12. mentioned here: http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/Article.aspx/1054697

Have listened to plenty of his interviews when he was at Motherwell and he alsways seems to come across as a straight talker .... If something was ***** he says so ....... at least we will have no more of this "beaten by a world class goal" every week (at least I hope not .... unless it was a world class goal)
  14. He was at Brentford, where Butcher might have seen him. He was also at Southend (where Foran has just come from), and was at Leicester when Levein was there and Levein took him to United ...... sounds like there might be something there ..... According to Wikipedia he also has an excellent full name .... Eric Geno S. Odhiambo-Anaclet

McManus was recently released by Colorado Rapids after refusing to take a pay cut ....... According to the publically available MLS Salary chart, he was guaranteed earnings of $140,462.50 in 2008 which is a little over ?97,000 a year ... is he worth that ? Kerr has been mentioned in other threads.
  16. Fans will be given the opportunity to meet the new Management Team in a forum at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium on Wednesday 4th February (7.30pm). It will be an opportunity to hear their approach to their new roles and hopes for the future. Capacity of the Kingsmills Suite is limited and given that demand is expected to be high, initially attendance will be limited to Season Ticket holders and Shareholders, who can book their place (one per person) by emailing [email protected] or dialling 01463 227458. Should any places remain after their requests then the invite will be extended to other groups of fans.?

Interviews may not win matches ..... but his comments over the last 3 days would suggest that his approach to man-management, his pr skills with the fans, and just his general persona will send the morale of everyone upwards. As far as I am concerned, good morale plays just as big a role as good tactics and good training. In contrast to the previous regime, embracing the senior players and giving them increased responsibility was a master stroke. For the last couple of years, anyone who questioned the man in charge was sent packing ... now it seems like the manager is encouraging a more open and healthy atmosphere and showing faith in people. A sign of someone who knows that his role is not diminished if he lets others have a say. A sign of someone who is confident and secure in his position. A sign of someone who will get the best out of the lads. WE all know that a motivated and happy ICT squad can be awesome. WE all know that individually none of our players are superstars but that together as a team they can perform way above their supposed skill level. I think TB knows that too ...... I cant wait for Sunday now ..... we may not win, but I am looking forward to seeing a team performance that I know we are capable of.

:shudder: .... Immortal Howden Ender ....... you are right !!! every interview with the man seems to be putting a smile on my face .... I liked his straight talking at Motherwell and in the last three days he has certainly talked a magnificent game. I know talk doesnt win games but it sounds like he is trying to raise everyone's spirits, from the staff, to the players, and certainly to the fans. He has acknowledged the fans role, the fact they deserve to see good performances, that he wants ICT to be hard to get points from again. He has talked of giving the senior players more responsibility (instead of the previous regime's ideas of shipping them out), of getting the "craic", and of standing by the three players who have signed PCAs (despite his previous comments as a pundit) ..... He has single handedly raised our PR quality by an infinite amount (not difficult when it was at zero) ....... Terry, you will do for me ! Welcome aboard HMS Sneck Admiral Butcher.
  19. see: http://caleythistleonline.com/news/boardro...banter-issue-03 and go to the "follow up" heading, click it and then go to the entertainment tab.
  20. this thread will surely have CaleyD searching his hard drives for his designs ..... funnily enough, two of those were things already mentioned in this thread. 1. A Dolphin in ICT gear. Everyone loves dolphins and its one thing Inverness or the Moray Firth is also famous for 2. An ICT warrior in full Highland Dress - Braveheart style. Another image associated with "Highlanders" For me, the mascot isnt that important to be honest .... but living abroad now, I tend to agree that Nessie is also appropriate as I too encounter a similar (or perhaps more subdued) response to that which Kirishima gets in Japan.
  21. Whilst I agree with you to an extent - ie. I am no fan of the "levy", unfortunately its not that simple. I think the club already replied to this in 2 of the 3 issues of Boardroom Banter so far but basically, if ICT sell the away tickets for any match then they are held accountable for the behaviour of all fans in the ground, not just the home fans. Obviously, this is not deemed a problem for the travelling support of most other teams but the club have already said they are not prepared to do this with Celtic and Rangers. Because of this, Rangers/Celtic tickets are sold via those clubs themselves and because they have ultimate control over who they go to, then Rangers and Celtic are responsible for the overall behaviour of their own fans not ICT. I believe ICT have already had a few comments/warnings about conduct involving OF fans at a few games (sectarian singing at first game of last season for example) so this seems to be a necessary policy to protect our club. If you want to blame anyone for this then blame the old firm, or blame the people who make the rules stating a minimum of 5% of the ground must be made available for travelling support. Not the club's fault on this one I think.
  22. maybe he's scared of the Butcher
  23. I think he left the door open for all three of them in his interview with CB. (thats Bannerman not Brewster for those that are worried ). It sounded like he might like to dispense with them if he can get Hearts, Motherwell and Watford to pony up some cash, but he then said they are all ICT players until the end of the season if not. I think his priorities in picking the best team might take precedence over his punditry comments.
  24. Scotty replied to caleyboy's topic in Caley Thistle
Good interview, and sounds like he will continue to make the same sort of open and honest comments he made when he was at Motherwell. I know we cant judge him on the first couple of days, its what happens on the park that matters ..... but he has nailed his first few interviews bang on.
  25. ok, fair enuff - cant access streaming media from work PC so wasnt able to hear that.
