  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t..._ct/7797295.stm unfortunately, this article does nothing to suggest Black will agree to the new contract currently being negotiated. "Black, who is part of a group of players whose contracts expire in the summer, told BBC Sport: "My opinion is there's a few boys out of contract soon - important players - and once that's sorted they can bring in other people. Roy McBain, David Proctor and Don Cowie are among them and once they're sorted they can look at strengthening." [no mention of himself] Black, who has been with Inverness since 2004, admits his long-term future may lie away from the club. He said: "Talks have been all right, I'm enjoying everything up here and I've loved [past tense] my time here. "The fans have been [past tense] great to me, the club's been great but I know there's interest and every player's got to weigh that up. "I've had [past tense] a great career here at Caley Thistle but I'm going to weigh everything up and see what's on the table."
  2. I have real fears that he will be allowed to stumble on through the Motherwell and Rangers games and the axe wont fall until or unless we lose to Partick in the cup ... If that is allowed to happen, any cash injection will be more than nullified by the loss of revenue from the cup.
  3. dont think he was specifically referring to this forum .... he will have had plenty of criticism through various Aberdeen forums to know how much pressure it can bring to bear.
  4. I will manage one of those three (for myself at least) .... There is a nice bottle of "Barrelproof" Havana Club waiting to be cracked open on Thursday
  5. Calderwood is unlikely to see this response .... but I would just like to make a few comments and point out a few mistakes in his theory. Its not new, and we ARE basing our views on the entire season !!! In fact, many of us are basing it on two seasons. The FACT is that Craig Brewster has the worst EVER record of ANY manager ICT have EVER had. 6 wins in 22 games this season. 1, yes ONE home win in 10 attempts THIS SEASON. Caley Thistle were never in the Highland League but if we let that slide, then all you can say is the past is the past, we are concerned about the here and now. Partick Thistle have done brilliantly over the years, as have Raith Rovers, as have Livingston, and Gretna and a raft of other teams ...... how are they doing now !!! I am sure their fans arent saying, "oh well, we were once good" ... they all want their club to do the best they can. Bollox. The majority of fans of ICT are realistic. We know we are a small club, we know we have limited finances, we know that top six every year is a pipedream. What we are asking for is CONSISTENCY, EFFORT, and a manager who can do the ****ing job. We have none of that right now. If we lose when giving 100% effort then so be it, but when players get moved around to different positions every week, or dropped to the bench for no apparent reason, or huckled out of the club for daring to have an opinion, then it is others who are ignoring what the club are and what it could be.
  6. For once we agree ..... especially with headlines like this "Caley plan January spending spree" http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...4685024,00.html
  7. Totally agree with you there Yngwie ... the only problem is that they are giving the money to the wrong man and that is the scary bit. Money can buy many things (as we have seen with Livi and Gretna) but money cant buy confidence nor can it buy respect if its already lost !!! think we can safely say the statement, in most areas has gone down like a (lead balloon)
  8. got to give them a break on that one .... there were no seats available for a large portion of them
  9. One glimmer of hope in the statement for me was the fact that the word manager was used instead of Brewster ....... "We realise we need to strengthen the squad in January and significant finance has been made available to the manager for this purpose." But my hopes deflated equally quickly at the next line ...... "He knows his budget" ..... which seems to suggest there is still confidence in Brewster and he will be allowed to continue. I am sorry, but I cannot for the life of me figure out just where this confidence is coming from or what warrants it. We are at the lowest position we have occupied in the SPL since arriving in it, our once famous "spirit" seems to have evaporated (fans and players alike), and the current incumbent has the worst record a manager of ICT has ever had since the team's inception. I applaud the board for beginning to see the problem, but fear throwing money at it will not make it any better. Perhaps the directors see the current situation differently ? If they can call the current fan feeling "disquiet", then maybe the current managerial malaise is - in their eyes - merely a "blip"
  10. If we have the same manager then this method would be quicker.......
  11. I dont hate Brewster though Harry, and dont see it as a hate campaign ....... I simply love ICT more and see it as a save ICT campaign. I want him gone because I dont believe he is the man for the job. He has certain qualities that are good ... fitness training for one, and a keen eye for potential (at times) for the other. However, I sincerely believe that he does not possess the tactical or man management ability to get us out of a slump which has been brought on by his lack of ability in those key areas. We could stumble on for a few more weeks, and maybe he would turn it around, but we were saying the same thing a month ago and it hasnt happened ..... in my mind, it seems more likely that we would simply dig ourselves into a deeper hole. Better to change now and give the new guy a chance to at least try and persuade Black and Cowie to stay (if possible) and to attempt to bring in a decent centre half and experienced forward to help the young lads up front who are all decent enough but out of their depth right now.
  12. here's the line ..... don't step over it !!! ________________________________________________
  13. and the "we have to Hammer Hamilton" one
  14. Our very own Uncle Albert appears to have picked up the big prize. WELL DONE you lucky sod http://www.ictfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News...1493466,00.html
  15. Last clean sheet - opening day of the season V Aberdeen Last time we scored first - V Kilmarnock (A) 22/11/08 Last time we scored first at HOME - V Motherwell 25/10/08 (1-2 defeat) Last time we won at HOME - V Kilmarnock 27/09/08 (3-1 win after going 0-1 down in 4 mins). I was there Last time we scored first at HOME and went on to win - V Gretna 03/05/08 (6-1 win). Or you could say V Kilmarnock 19/04/08 (3-0 win) if you dont want to count Gretna ..... funnily enough, I was at that Kilmarnock game too !!!
  16. Perspective time .... The CC that had lost at home to Rangers, and lost 2-1 away to Well and St Mirren before resigning. He may have had us at the bottom but 3 games is not enough time to extrapolate a season long prediction. He did ok the previous season and there was no reason to imagine he wouldnt have done ok if he had continued. Having said that ... agree with you 100% about Owen Coyle.
  17. The longer the board do nothing, then the longer the casualty list must be when they finally do act !!! If - as suggested to me - there are those on the board who do not see, do not realise, or choose to ignore the now overwhelming calls for the removal of Mr Brewster as team manager by questioning the knowledge or passion of the fans, then their positions must also be considered untenable.
  18. At the end of the day I think the majority of us are now firmly in the Brewster must Go camp ...... he simply cannot be allowed to continue. The priority in that case is to get someone in who can hit the ground running. We are entering the transfer window, we need the squad to start working for each other, and we need an almost instant boost. I feel that Robbo can be the man to provide that. He has proved over the last few months just how much ICT means to him. Some may not see or hear it but one of the "benefits" of listening to games on the radio rather than attending them is that you often get the "open all mics" programme and Robbo is passionate about ICT, Inverness and the Highlands. He was slapping down central belt stereotypes long before people thought he was touting for any job. I agree with Johnboy's suggestion that he perhaps get a contract until the end of the season to see what he can do I believe his passion would rub off on the players and we know what happens when ICT are happy/passionate I believe he would find a place for Barry and that would give the players and fans even more of a lift I believe he would further woo the fans by playing attractive football and acknowledging our existence and most important of all .... I believe he would keep us up
  19. Well lucky you, some of us only have the option of listening on the radio and the opinions you have typed are very close (in parts) to the opinions stated on that device by one of the commentators .... are you Brian Irvine in disguise ?
  20. There have been quite a number of new registrations in the last week ..... and some of our lurkers who have been registered for a long time (more than a year in some cases) are making their first posts ....... just because someone has a low post count, doesnt necessarily mean they havent been around, or that their contribution is any less valid !!
  21. If Brewster goes, what we need is someone to come in and win the dressing room back, put some smiles on faces, and get the lads performing again. Robbo with Wilson and even Shearer as a transition team makes sense to me. It does not mean that Robbo should be permanent manager (he can apply if he wishes) but he could at least come in and hit the ground running as we enter the transfer window.
  22. fact of the matter is that we have had CCTV at the stadium for donkey's years which is relayed to the control room upstairs. I am sure there is probably something in the terms and conditions of your ticket or season book somewhere validating its use. The introduction of a roving team filming the crowd is worrysome, but if I am honest, it does not surprise me in the least. Football forums such as this one, P&B and many others are viewed carefully by many people, not least the authorities. Given the amount of talk this past week about protests, banners and such like it would be ludicrous to think that much of the information did not reach the club, the Northern Constabulary and even the UK Football Policing Unit and expecting "trouble" the cameras were on hand to record it and start procedures to issue banning orders if it got out of hand. Look what happened (stewarding wise) when IHE made a couple of comments about streaking and Feb8 let his bosses know ............. In a written reply to a parliamentary question a few months ago (regarding UEFA cup final in Manchester), the SNP's Kenny Macaskill answered as follows: "Regular discussions take place between the Scottish Police Service and the National Football Intelligence Unit and reports of any adverse behaviour of football supporters at any domestic, European or international game are submitted to the National Football Intelligence Unit". There are a few other interesting responses about football banning orders as well (about 2/3 down the page). http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/business...8/wa0529.htm#22 PS: At Toronto FC games we have undercovers within the crowd scrutinising the behaviour of certain fan groups and/or targetted individuals and these guys carry guns !!!! Dont get too worked up over it ... if you have been at an ICT game your face is probably already in a database somewhere
  23. commentators saying that Proctor should be "hooked now" as he is playing "disastrously"
  24. Aberdeen have their own broadcast service so it is blocked. Check your PMs PS: Mulgrew makes it 0-1 from 30 yards
  25. on a positive note .... impeccably observed minute's silence.
