  1. you are closer than you think :004: (allegedly)
  2. I will not be naming and shaming primarily because in a number of cases I only have the IP addresses and cannot confirm 100% that it is the user(s) I suspect it is. I may be fairly confident, but not 100%. We have reinstated the need to be logged in for now which will take us to the end of the season. Incidentally, we never had any problem with the polls where this was required so I dont think the problem will continue !!!! As from next season we are playing with a number of ideas. We will be doing quite a few software upgrades and if possible will try to bring the voting into the forum so that we can either have a POY forum/sub-forum or can add the poll to the matchday thread. leave that one with me. Oh - and many thanks to hislopsoffsideagain for volunteering to recalculate all the votes. It is no small task so his efforts are appreciated by us.
  3. It has come to our attention that a number of votes in the Player of the Year polls have been manipulated by certain users casting multiple votes for the same players on different days or intentionally voting for the same players in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place on the same poll. As IP addresses are logged, and can be married up to forum logins, admin are fully aware of who these users are :018: :018: We removed the requirement for users to be logged in to vote in these polls in response to user requests. Unfortunately because of the thoughtless, sneaky, underhanded and downright dishonest behaviour of a handful of people, this requirement will be reinstated immediately and users will now need to be logged in before voting :008: :008: We have identified the polls which have been "freeped" in this manner and will be discarding all votes where the same player has had either multiple votes from the same user on different days or where the user has voted for them in 1st 2nd and 3rd spots. I am deeply disappointed to have to write this. It seems that you try to make things easier for some people and a small minority insist on f****** it up for everyone.
  4. no relegation if Gretna go bust. they would be deemed the relegated team.
  5. Ian Broadfoot has been keeping meticulous records since 1994 that went hand in hand with his official match reports. However, he "retired" at the end of last season. He still keeps the stats, and provides them to the club, media and website(s) but no longer does match reports. Fiona now does those for the club and we try to cobble something together each week either from ourselves or from contributions of users By the end of this season I hope to have our stats software up to date and this will give the same basic stats that Ian provided.
  6. I have stickied this because I also stickied the other petition thread (Damian's Law). Its only fair. have also signed the petition Marty. good luck.
  7. I have stickied this after a request from one of our users.
  8. lol - Both DD chants are great and one of them gets sung "officially" in the 24th minute of each game (as well as several other times) to commemorate the fact that he scored the first ever goal for the club in the 24th minute of the second home game This is my favourite video of the goal as it shows the pandemonium in the stands .... the place went mental !!!! TFC gave out commemorative "seat covers" as you entered the ground that day .... they are now rare things as most ended up on the pitch !!! .... http://youtube.com/watch?v=XQvz01OKrsA&feature=related Here's the favoured chant and here's a recording I made of it from my "seat" in the south stand. 10. You know IHE, you dont half come out with some cr@p sometimes ........ Unfortunately, this time, I think you are a lot closer to the mark than some will ever give you credit for.
  11. Its all the fault of the new motivational coach [attach=1]
  12. Yeah so it seems - although most TFC fans think its unrealistic ! Toronto play on "field turf" (astroturf) so that would do Wallace's dodgy knees no good, and both players might command a salary that TFC simply would not be prepared to pay. The MLS squad system is very complicated and has rules for how many of each type of player you can have. It also operates a salary cap and your entire squad has to come in at under a certain amount of wages. If you have a player on a higher salary then it means less to go round the others unless you use a "designated player" spot like LA did for Beckham where only a portion of their wages count towards the salary cap. Cant see TFC using that coveted designation for Wallace or Miller. - somewhat of an explanation here - http://www.torontofans.ca/articles/read/4 and here http://web.mlsnet.com/about/league.jsp?sec...ontent=overview I eventually found a match report for last night and Deano didnt feature but Toronto's 3 goals in a 4-3 defeat to the current MLS champs came from other trialists - Kiki Musampa, Martin Brittain (pen) and Tony Vairelles.
  13. Dean McDonald is currently with Toronto FC in their training camp and may feature in one or more of these upcoming games .... San Antonio Pro-Soccer Festival (Texas) Wednesday, March 5th vs. Chivas USA @ 6:00 PM Friday, March 7th vs. D.C. United @ 6:00 PM Sunday, March 9th vs. Houston Dynamo @ 3:15 PM Carolina Challenge Cup (South Carolina) Saturday, March 15th vs. San Jose Earthquakes @ 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 19th vs. New York Red Bulls @ 6:00 PM Saturday, March 22nd vs. Charleston Battery @ 6:00 PM He is one of several trialists so there is no guarantee of a contract offer but here's hoping he does well. I posted the "rumour" a little while back on some of the TFC message boards and - like us - fans seemed impressed with his youtube clips but underwhelmed by his height. Would be interesting to have some connection between TFC and ICT other than just myself and Luvgravy !!! The rumour now seems to have been confirmed in this article and even though the reporter didnt get his name right I wouldnt read much into it .... http://www2.sportsnet.ca/blogs/gerry_dobso...f_change/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto_FC#Ch...2008_MLS_season
  14. That is the "lo-fi" version of the thread that strips out images and other stuff. this is the full link http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3231
  15. I am with CaleyD on this ...... sort of I would agree that there are more problems at the club than Brewster and stepping back to look at the big picture is indeed a good suggestion ! In fact, when you do step back, you might come to the conclusion that Brew (and Marius) are both convenient scapegoats/smokescreens for the other problems. In each case they were out of work and looking for a new job. ICT procured their services and worked out a deal to bring them to the club. It is not Brewster's fault that he replaced Charlie, or that Charlie felt compelled to resign and it is not Marius' fault that the club decided to break the wage structure to bring him here. In each case the club could have said no. They - like us - are only trying to get the best deals they can from a prospective employer and we would all be lying if we said we would not do exactly the same thing. Where I diverge from CaleyD's stance is that I think Brewster does have to shoulder some of the blame for our predicament since he arrived at the club. He cannot be blamed for any jealousy over MN's wages, he cannot be blamed for at least some players wanting away because of this, and he cannot be blamed for every bad result - the players have to shoulder some of that too. However, when you hear talk of personality clashes within the first team structure (ie. including management), or players who could still do a job for us going out on loan because they dont get on with the manager (allegedly), or promising youngsters possibly heading half way around the world to play because they seem to fall into the category of "not the manager's kind of player", or when (some of) you witness lacklustre or terrible performances which appear to be bereft of any tactics then I am afraid he does have to take that on the chin. I was not keen on Brewster coming back to us, partly because of loyalty to a man I respect - Charlie Christie, and partly because of his severe under-achievement at DUFC which appeared to be a poisoned chalice until Levein took over. However, he is here and fortunately, courtesy of Gretna, has until at least the end of the season to start getting it right or to bring in players that he does see eye to eye with or who are his "type". We should continue to debate games, or to speak our minds about where we think he got it right or wrong but we should also be aware that it is not all his fault !
  16. Yeah - that allisoncrowe page mentions a few people who have sung it including Dylan and Bono !!!
  17. On the Shrek soundtrack it is John Cale (formerly of Velvet Underground) http://www.allisoncrowe.com/press/04092101.html http://www.last.fm/music/John+Cale http://www.last.fm/music/John+Cale/_/Halle...rek+Soundtrack)
  18. That's the point ... last year it wasnt fit for the SFL and they only got out of making the improvements they had previously agreed to because they got promoted and were then able to "abandon" Raydale altogether. from the article .... "It is understood that Gretna promised the SFL, after winning the Second Division title in 2006, that they would make improvements to Raydale. However, they reneged on that agreement and would have had serious questions to answer last year if James Grady's last-minute winner against Ross County at Dingwall had not stopped St Johnstone gaining promotion on the final day of the campaign." The more I hear about Gretna's rise (and fall), the more each thing they do (or don't do) seems to stink.
  19. One of the best 10 guitarists in the world according to BB King !!! not surprisingly its been all over the radio and TV here today.
  20. He has started 11 games - come on as a sub 39 times. but heck, if he at least showed some spirit on Saturday and some nice touches then why not give him a chance. no other bugger seems to be trying.
  21. Kilmarnock anyone ...... :024:
  22. As it says below - the club are hosting a casino night. If you have any queries, please conatact either angela.wilson or darren.mackintosh @ictfc.co.uk [attach=1] Casino night.pdf booking form.pdf
  23. You know, today, I felt nothing but a sense of expectation that this would happen and to be honest, tonight, I really cant be bothered reading or replying to most of the threads on here !!! I just wonder if a lot of posters are feeling the same way. Why should they put in the effort to lay their feelings out when it is clearly evident that the club/team arent bothering their arses.
  24. not good. :008:
