  1. not sure I buy that CaleyD - "terminated with immediate effect" smacks of something else ..... unless of course they told the wee man that Pele was going there and he threw a wobbler - sure it will all come out

I have a 500 mile commute each week (40 miles each way, mon-fri) and while its a pain in the ***, its normal over here. Before anyone says it, yes, I do travel on a 4 lane highway to and from work, but that just means the traffic jams are wider !!! - give me the A9 anyday !! [i could rant on about Toronto drivers, Mobile Phone users, construction, potholes, and eccentric lane-changers but that is a whole different subject and would take me off topic a bit so I wont] I do have some sympathy with him - travel might not be much of an excuse, but at the end of my day when facing a 2 hour (or longer) drive through rush hour traffic I often wonder if there might be a job for me 'closer to home' as the travel is the only aspect of my job that is not enjoyable.
  3. Charlie has made a good start but still has a lot to learn, and thats what he will do ... stay at ICT and LEARN his trade. He WILL make mistakes but one mistake I dont think he will make is to move elsewhere. Our board chose a man who is already at his dream club and wont be blinded by the lure of moving elsewhere. If he were to end up so succesful that someone like Celtic came calling, it might be hard to resist, but no way is he gonna jump ship for Tannadice, Pittodrie or anywhere else. Incidentally - for the stattos out there ... Brewster left DU after 2 wins in 28. He had 17 in 50 at ICT, and Charlie, who some felt was not a worthy successor now has 15 wins in 34 (10 draws, 9 defeats).
  4. sounds quite serious ??? That kind of wording is normally only used when something dodgy has gone on or there has been a major breach of confidence/trust .... otherwise the "mutual consent" phrase is usually trotted out a-la-Brewster.
  5. closed the poll - Brewster wins !!!
  6. I actually agree with you there. Maybe it was a "mistake" to publicly talk about committment a week or two before taking the DUFC job then ? I know a few of our fans found that very disrespectful !!! Call it the "comeuppance factor" ... I am a great believer in "what goes around comes around" and his just came around. You wont find too many ICT fans feeling sorry for him as most probably feel he got what he deserved. In fact, many will say "i told you so" as they predicted the grocer would wield the axe before he had even taken the job.
  7. I did post on another thread a few weeks ago that Brewster as a player was valuable for us before Dargo started scoring and that I also thought the fitness regime did take us up a notch. I believe Peter was responsible for a lot of the fitness routines which is one of the major reasons Brew wanted him with him when he left ICT. No harm in Brew getting the credit for the fitness regime - after all, he picks the team, both backroom and on the park and stands or falls on the results of both. I will concede that the kick up the arse for Barry - currently leading our Player of the Year voting - was all CB's doing. Barry's resurgence had as much to do with him realising he should listen to someone like Brew who was still playing at the top level at his age as it did to the fitness regime and most fans will probably agree we are leaner, meaner, and fitter now than we were under Robbo. Each manager has added something to the ICT mix, but given the nature of Brew's departure from ICT (a short time after his committment speech), you will find very few people who feel sorry for him at his latest departure.

    Brewster back?

    :oops01: :whip01: ... sorry
  9. It may be a cheap post - but now that this site is unofficial, I am allowed to have my own opinion :004: It can also be said that hindsight is a wonderful thing and of Brewster's 3 man backroom team (himself, Malky, and Peter Davidson), Peter was probably the most valuable as fitness coach.

    Brewster back?

If I were a Pars fan, I would be very very worried .... think I would urge my club to pay the 50k compensation for Robbo rather than risk losing 2 million by being relegated. :028:

  13. Christie has the potential to be the best manager we have ever had, but right now its still Pele
  14. he will say he has been misquoted and forget all about it ..... and I doubt that any of the Hearts players could be afforded by us.
  15. maybe they might next time that Tokes gets booed .... would have thought they would know this already though
  16. Of course I have :015: :015: :015: also mentioned the fact that Bayne / Bullock are former County teammates ...... they wondered why they were speaking to each other
  17. Team lineups [attachment deleted by admin]
  18. Sounde like a genuine set of compliments and memories from a man who knows Charlie very well from both playing and commercial days. :025: :025: :025:

    Hi Guys

Welcome aboard TomO ... enjoy the game. most of us dont bite, and quite a few of our supporters have an accent from your neck of the woods :004:
  20. The French FA have announced that France V Scotland in September 2007 will be played at the Parc de Prince and not the Staad de France .... thoughts ?
  21. Feck me - thats sure to halt the decline in morale !!! methinks it will be a busy transfer window at Tynecastle
  22. I think that David Sutherland / Tullochs did more for the club in a 'hands-on' manner, but I certainly cant dispute your assertion that Mr Fraser was also a significant investor in the club at a time when we really needed it. Many of us tend to forget about him when discussing the club's major contributors - possibly because he preferred to stay in the background rather than seek prominence - and I thank you for reminding us. :004:
  23. Guess we know who's getting the manager's job if Charlie ever steps down :004:

    PITCH INVASION

    That'll be GAUN-tanamo Bay then :015: :015: (think about it :004:)

    PITCH INVASION

see the comments elsewhere about the Inverness fan who has already effectively been banned from every ground in Scotland (except ICT !!) until his court case comes up and you will get your answer :010:
