I have always thought that multiple food sellers should be allowed to sell their wares in the gaps at each end of the various stands. More vendors means more competition and (if you are lucky) better quality and perhaps lower prices .... as well as shorter queues. Adding small merchandise stands where fans enter in larger numbers is also a good idea. Maybe a stall that just sells scarves and hats or one that has other limited merchandise.

Dont think its a big thing for TFC fans either ... The club and TicketMaster both take a cut so the ticket holder gets pennies and its applied to your account as a credit for next year !!! Anyone selling just does it on the fan forums with all supporters groups agreeing that the rickets are sold at face value or less. Club are supportive of this it seems. I have electronically transferred tickets a few times (most times i just email the PDF) and I have donated a couple of times but mainly I just use the print option ... although this year I have made more use of the QR code based ticket that comes in the phone app.

To add to my previous posts .... just went to print my tickets for tonight's TFC game and this is what TFC offer as options for each ticket, works well

Interesting to note that the underlying provider of the ticket technology is Ticketmaster .... While I am no great fan of TM for concerts, especially the exorbitant 'service' fees for basically no services, my experience of them for football has been the complete opposite and I have nothing that is not positive to say about it. If that's the way that ICT are going then its a good thing IMHO. At TFC our season tickets are sent to us as normal paper tickets but many (like me) prefer to keep these pristine in the overall package that we get with our season ticket stuff. The package is usually commemorative or artsy in nature and the tickets are often well worth framing or keeping for posterity (or for our kids or grandkids to sell later !) . As part of our season ticket "membership" we have an online account manager which is provided by Ticketmaster (and is separate to any personal login you may have for TM). This gives you access to your account to print, sell, transfer or give away your tickets. I have been printing PDFs of my tickets since 2007 and it works great. Last year the TFC app for iOS and Android added a section to access and manage your season tickets. You can now save them to your iPhone wallet (or Android equivalent) and just have them scanned at the gate with hand scanners or you can use the app to show the gate staff the same thing. It works great (as does taking a screenshot and sending to a friend in a text if they want to use tickets). Its a single use barcode so once its scanned its done. From next year, the option to print tickets on paper is going to be removed (in an effort to discourage touts) and all tickets will be electronic entry. Not sure how they will address those with old style phones, or if there are other concerns but for me and all my friends its a really user friendly and easy system to use. I am sure there may be teething troubles ... but once up and running this will be a great thing. I would hope the club do however make it clear you can send your tickets on to friends (if they eventually go down the account manager route) or that you can pass the card to a friend (in the same ticket category) to use as the ticket is already paid for so there should be no harm in 'someone' using it.

a lot of mileage in this story methinks
  6. You are right. My comment about Brexit was because I had seen a few forums and other sites saying they did not need to comply as it was a European law and Brexit would nullify it. They are wrong on both fronts. its introduced this month as you note and thats a year before Brexit. It also seems that this is one of the European laws that will be enshrined in British law once Brexit has happened so burying heads in the sand is pointless. It has been a bit of a minefield to get all the right details and clarity on our legal responsibilities, especially as I live in Canada, have citizenship of both UK and Canada, and our servers are in the USA, with us also utilising Cloudflare for additional security and to serve pages to users more quickly in their locations ..... so to make things easy we are going to tweak things so we are compliant as our main audience is in Europe and we have no issue with trying to treat our user's data with integrity. We are very close to compliant based on the checks I have done and should only need to tweak a few settings to make sure we are not enabling certain defaults, giving the choice back to users. We then have to re-work our terms, privacy and cookie policy and information documents.
  7. Here are the draw results for 2017/18 season to see who receives Liam Polworth's signed shirt from this season just past. WINNER - SIGNED SHIRT : @The_Sponge ~ Please PM me for details on how to claim your prize The names in the hat for each of the seasons are based on the members who joined the sponsorship group each year (see topic linked below). The draw itself is conducted using a random generator website (www.randompicker.com). We have used this same site to conduct all our draws over the years, and have also successfully conducted several test draws on the current data that completed without any issues. The draw is completely and utterly random and no-one on CTO or within ICT has any influence or control over the names that come up. This is important to note as there are people connected with the club and with CTO who have subscribed and are therefore eligible and who will not be excluded from the draw. If anyone has any concerns or questions about this process please feel free to PM me or mention it in the thread below. 2017-18: List of participants 2017-18 Draw Result on the randompicker website
  8. of course he doesn't ... he has SK read it to him while another one of the team peels him grapes allegedly. although he always maintained that it was DP who was the techie guy.
  9. With all due respect, I would be extremely wary of a random third party software for this purpose too ..... even if it did turn out to be legit. However, this is an important topic and one we have to comply with too. I have been using ICO.org.uk and the forums of our software providers as our main sources of information and although it is not completely clear how (or if) BREXIT will affect this, there is nearly a full year between the date that this should be in place and the potential BREXIT date in 2019 so its not something to avoid. Its also a pretty decent idea anyway as there should be safeguards and rules on how you handle people's data. Specific to this site - We do not do anything with your data other than try to enhance your experience on the site. We dont sell it, give it away or otherwise provide it to anyone, but I will look to post something in the blogs in the next week or so about this so people can read about it if interested or concerned. If you want to read about it now, here's a few insomnia cures ! The first three from ICO, the last from our software providers. https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr/individual-rights/ https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-the-general-data-protection-regulation-gdpr/lawful-basis-for-processing/consent/ https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/guide-to-pecr/cookies-and-similar-technologies/ https://invisioncommunity.com/news/product-updates/how-invision-communitys-tools-can-help-with-gdpr-compliance-r1052/
  10. I am not going to get drawn into a debate about the minutiae of what is or is not acceptable or what has prompted anyone to modify their views on any given subject. We are mostly adults here and should know when something crosses the line. All I will say is that when it does go over the line and becomes personal then it is unacceptable and will be dealt with accordingly. My post was not specifically aimed at you, as there are multiple pissing contests going on here over the last little while, but yes, your exchange is one of the things that prompted my post. My only interest here is in protecting the site. Recent legal actions over the last couple of years - mainly related to Facebook and Twitter but also acknowledged to be relevant to Forums - has clarified that posters are ultimately responsible for their own content, and should an individual or group feel they have been wronged then their recourse in law is against the poster not the platform. However, having done this for the last 24 years I still regard what we were told all those years ago by the SportNetwork lawyers about our own 'duty of care' as it relates to the platform we provide and I/We always try to strike a balance between allowing all posts and removing content that is inappropriate. Contrary to popular belief we dont remove much (although we may move it) and we seldom ban anyone (mainly spammers who get through our registration process).
  11. There are a few personal battles going on in this - and other- threads from a number of users ..... so this is a shot across the bows to all of those who seek to defame or denigrate other posters as their primary focus. You will be removed from participation in these threads if you persist. Debate the topic, agree or disagree with the post, vehemently if you wish, but please do not let this degenerate into personal attacks. There is a fine line between banter and abuse and we have already spoken to a few people. If anyone wants to have a pissing contest there is a long trough urinal in the gents at the stadium .. that seems like a more appropriate place .. and might even drive up the attendance. Its going to be a really long summer if this carries on and I have too much to do with my own (soon to be) 5 year old and have no desire or time to try and watch over adults that want to behave as 5 year olds.

Key quote for me is : Very raw but has all the physical attributes to be a real talent with the right coaching. If he has talent/skill then the rest can be taught/learned if he is willing to work hard at it and has the right attitude.

  16. Players of the Month Month Player July Collin Seedorf August Iain Vigurs September Connor Bell October Iain Vigurs November Coll Donaldson December Coll Donaldson January Coll Donaldson February Liam Polworth March Mark Ridgers April Iain Vigurs Started back in season 2000-2001, the CaleyThistleOnline Player of the Year award is one of only two external supporter awards recognised by the club and also recorded in Ian Broadfoot's official club stats. We take great pride in that and seek to ensure the voting process is handled with fairness and integrity. The results over the last 18 years have usually been a pretty good indicator of the season that had just passed and this season's votes seem no different than previous years in that respect. From reading the forums and the supporter assessments of the players on a weekly basis, I would hazard a guess that most fans would easily be able to rhyme off the top 5 names quite easily. Because we allow 7 days voting on each game we still have to add the last 3 games to the tally (Saturday's game V the Pars plus tonight's game at Livi and the game at the weekend in Greenock) and we will update this article when that is done ... but with Iain Vigurs as the runaway leader there will be no change to the final table regardless of any voting permutations. So without further adieu, lets get to the names and stats and stuff .... There were a total of 2428 votes cast (so far) for a total of 24 different players over the course of the season. The season covered 10 months and two players each won 'Player of the Month' three times with 4 other players taking it for a single month. Over the course of the season the player with the highest number of votes cast for them (regardless of the value of the votes 5/3/1) was Iain Vigurs with 468 votes. In second spot with 338 votes was Coll Donaldson, next up with 248 was Liam Polworth with Mark Ridgers and Connor Bell completing the top 5 with 192 and 173 votes respectively. The dominance of Iain Vigurs in the monthly voting not only saw him pick up 3 Player of the Month wins but he is one of the few players over the last 18 years to earn points in each month of the season. Most seasons even the eventual winner spends some time out of the team or goes off the boil a bit but this year he racked up points in each of the ten months of the season. There has to be a few special mentions this year too. Jack Brown did not pick up any Player of the Year points but he did pick up some votes in the Falkirk game in January and that's unusual for one of our youngsters. However Daniel Mackay eclipsed that and not only picked up some votes in 4 separate months but that translated into POY points in October and January courtesy of good performances against Peterhead and the same Falkirk game as Jack. The final special mentions have to go to Coll Donaldson and Mark Ridgers. Viewed by many as liabilities before a ball was kicked, and not having the greates of starts, they both turned things around and have been stalwarts this season. Coll easily finished second in the voting and Mark was fourth which no-one predicted in the dark days early in the season. The final points totals were as shown here: Well done Iain Vigurs
  17. It was close but there IS a clear winner .... so I will announce it before tonight's game.
  18. I will be doing the calculations for our player of the year voting over the next couple of days. You have all voted for it over the last year and the voting slips were readily available :) If there is a clear winner we will announce who it is ... if still up in the air we will post the permutations for the last couple of games. Once we know who it is @CaleyD will be tasked with sorting out a presentation at some point.

  23. This is what Scottish football needs again ... what is the problem with standing? Every TFC home game I have been to for the last 11 years has been in the same section at BMO Field (113) which has always been designated a supporters section and where flags, banners, standing and singing have been not only allowed but encouraged. This is in a stadium with upwards of 20,000 in attendance for most matches, where alcohol is served by the bucketload, and where this section is always full to capacity regardless of the other sections ... There are no official 'safe standing' seats like you might see in Germany (although that is coming for the front 5 or 6 rows) just regular seats like the TCS. In 11 years I have never seen an issue with standing other than 'tourists' who either have not been to games, or who normally sit elsewhere in the ground, bitching about why they cannot see for those standing when they do manage to acquire tickets in this section ... they are quickly pointed towards these signs that the club attached to the stairwells and also the same info printed on the tickets ! Even REAL Tourists visiting from out of town - including 3 sets of ICT supporters I have taken to TFC games in the past - know to stand, sing and enjoy the atmosphere ! If you enjoy you are fine, if you get out of line you are dealt with by security or the police. On every visit back to ICT I am disheartened by the atmosphere in the stands and also the threat hanging over supporters if they dare to try and make an atmosphere. Some may argue we have always had the 'sweetie rustlers' and yes we did, and in my area of the main stand I would likely have been tarred with that brush, but I know that both myself and those around me did try back in the day to get things going .... and nowadays when I visit I just tend to keep my mouth shut. (although I did get a warning at Xmas at the Livi game as discussed on another thread at the time). Threats of FBOs or criminal convictions as well as over officious stewarding and in some cases unsympathetic leadership teams at various clubs have sucked the absolute life out of games at many stadiums. Its another attempt to enforce a one-size-fits-all solution to a problem that does not exist on any great scale outside of the usual two suspects. Kenny Cameron has been vilified on here since he stepped down but I do know he had broached the standing issue with the SPFL and was very fan focused (to the point where you could simply drop by for a chat !). The document circulated may have been mandated by the SPFL, or by some change in the handbook requirements to have a published policy about just about anything, but it certainly appears that the relationship between club and fans has reverted from 'Together-Ness' to being one of 'Them and Us' that existed a long time ago and did no-one any good and another reason why we need a cohesive, coherent and effective supporters group like CJT V2.0
