  1. Completely agree with Renegade, persistently starting 4-5-1 at home is absolutely dire and doing nothing for us. Especially when the lone striker is playing with his head up his @rse at the moment. Simply has to be ditched, especially with Hayes back providing the service, and Sanchez proving he's more than capable of hitting the back of the net given a chance. I'd go: Esson Duff Tokely Munro Shinnie Duncan Hayes - - - - - Ross Foran Sanchez Rooney Subs: Tuffey, Proctor, Innes, McBain, Cox, Odhiambo, Sutherland Interesting to see a few calling for Foran to be dropped.. Lazy donut factor coming into play here maybe? Yet he has shown he's capable of scoring a few goals for us, and is the captain after all (not that I see that as a reason not to drop somebody). When he came on at HT against St J's he made a HUGE difference for us and was arguably our best outfield player on the park. He seems ineffective as a winger as he doesn't track back an awful lot, and the constant berating of Shinnie in every game can't be doing the young lad any favours. So I would have him in an attacking midfield role. This way he doesnt have to do much running to support the defence, and could still do the business for us in attack. Duncan coming back in to shore up the midfield is a no-brainer, and in the 10-15 mins he did get yesterday Hayes showed us the little spark we've missed from him in attack.. Great to have ya back wee man. Odhiambo being the obvious choice to make way.
  2. He said last night at the Supporters Forum thingymajig, that he had played a bounce game yesterday and was hoping to be in the squad against Hamilton. If not then he would definitely expect to be involved against Aberdeen. Coxxy said he hoped to be back for the Aberdeen game aswell.
  3. Mentioning Stuart Golabek and Dennis Wyness in here is just completely ludicrous. Yes they did play with us in 2nd spells having come back to the club and were perhaps past their peak, but at one point in their careers these 2 players have been up there with the best we've had in the SPL for their positions. Totally uncalled for. Garry Wood is my tuppence worth. Consistently frustrated many with his inability to finish chances. So it would be him along with the obvious choices of Barrowman and McGuire.
  4. Juanjo later had his red card rescinded by the SFA, yet Lennon escaped punishment. Also note that the referee that day was a certain Dougie MacDonald. IT'S A CONSPIRACY..
  5. far larger clubs like Hibs and Aberdeen. Once upon a time, aye.
  6. When we had Hibs up here I spoke to a few of their fans in the Caley Club who were adamant back then he was gonna sign for Hibs in January. Interestingly enough, his goal against Elgin is the only one he's had since that day.. Put it down to the lack of service without Hayes but he hasn't scored in the SPL for just shy of 2 months. Don't see where all this is coming from rather than a few posters on forums though. All we have is one person saying he's heard it's for £200k plus Nish and people are jumping to conclusions. I severely doubt this would be the deal. £200k would be a brilliant return on it's own from an ICT perspective right enough, given he could well leave for nout in the summer. On another note, I'd welcome Rankin back anyday to TCS, and think Nish could still do a job in the SPL as well. To be honest I don't see why Rooney would want to move to Hibs though. IMO if he's going to stay in Scotland then he's aswell staying with us though. Big if, but IF Hamilton win their 2 games in hand.. Hibs would then be joint bottom with Midden. It wouldn't be a step forward for Adam at all, and would show a complete lack of ambition from him. Wouldn't begrudge him the Inter Milan move though.
  7. Well said Proctor. Had the same problem as yourself and the people behind you in the queue on numerous occasions as well, its an utter joke.
  8. If I was any half of the Old Filth, I'd rather have Sammon warming the bench than Rooney. The boy's a brute, and our defence just couldn't cope with him a couple of weeks back. Hopefully he puts in a good shift against them on Monday night.
  9. Think it's quite clear he just made this whole story up. He was prob never even in Glasgow to start with Ahh Sherlock, how lovely to meet you.
  10. I didn't see Terry out of the dugout once today. Perhaps he has a wee bug of some kind. Presuming you didn't make the 1st half then?
  11. We were absolute murder in the first half and had Esson to thank on a couple of occasions that we weren't behind at the interval. 2nd Half was an improvement even though we never really had any clear cut chances. On the whole we can't really argue with 1-0 to them. Not liking this poor run of form we're on and think a game against 3rd Division Elgin could be just what we need, hoping for nothing less than a trouncing but there is genuine fear in this supporter now that we could be on the wrong end of an upset.. Please don't take it lightly Terry. Although we're not a one-man team, Hayes is arguably our best outfield player and we miss him dearly. Bluhmanshtein isn't going to be the answer to replacing him. Few get pass marks today, with a lot of lacklustre performances. Rooney put a lot of effort in upfront but there was nothing at all to show for it and his lack of chances, never mind goals, is worrying. Nick had an alright game and was at least looking to take people on or get a ball into the box, and picked a few neat passes. Almost got lucky hitting the bar with a cross, but we'd have been so lucky had that gone in. Foran looked lively when he came on and definitely gave us another dimension in attack, can only presume he didn't start as he's not 100% fit, especially after scoring in midweek? Ryan Esson, take a bow.. Our only standout performer with some superb saves, particularly towards the end when Munro put Colin Samuel through after making an erse of a header back. No chance with the goal, but defending really was poor. Eric.. Fookin' hell, he had an awful game and it would've been too ironic had he scored when he had Enckleman sprawling across the line to make a good save. His touch was horrendous and by the time he'd get the ball under control he would have already been closed down and chance gone. The one thing I've noticed the last couple of games is that he never seems to be on his toes or anticipating the play at all, needs to be worked on. Love A Moan On The Forum.. All others had quiet, ineffective games really. Away Support was class once again, shame the unbeaten run had to end but at least we can be proud of achieving it, and despite some over the top stewarding from the pr!cks in yellow we did a good job creating the atmosphere there today. Anyway to the future now, and hopefully pick up a win next week to get back on track.
  12. Now I'm starting to look like Shane MacGowan as well as sounding like him.
  13. Got the bus down, but the train back so dunno about the roads later on. Going down it was bad from Daviot to Aviemore, some parts of it were horrendous. But once you get about Kingussie and Newtonmore it was completely clear all the way to Glasgow.
  14. Nice to see us getting a lot of credit and support from non-ICT fans on Pie & Bovril as well.
  15. Maybe cause you were taking it completely off topic, and ruining what should be an otherwise happy thread about a brilliant game of football, when there's no need to start petty little arguments? Just a thought...
  16. I can fully empathise with you .Being thrown out by these bullies you missed the incident at the end of the game. The ball mysteriously landed in our supporters area and a young steward sportingly threw it to some of our fans who were having a bit of fun with no intention of wanting to keep their ball, who would want it, out of nowhere this huge steward arrived and as we were celebrating with Terry and Boys he pushed in behind me ,my friend and family almost pushed me over the back of seat in front and I will never know how I held my footing ,my friend twisted her back trying to save herself it was horrendous treatment.I spoke to him and and he was extremely rude I tried speak to another steward and got same treatment .The police were a bit more sympathetic but said they had nothing to do with stewarding.I did get told the offending steward was the head supervisor for the area we were in .The second one I spoke to was walking away and I tapped his arm to get his attention only to be told dont touch me or I will have you for assault, who the hell do they think they are that they can throw their weight around like that.It didnt end there as some man with a clip board appeared and took my name and said he would try to get it sorted out.Next we got escorted out by two very pleasant stewards who were more than understanding .I then decided it is an absolute waste of time and energy to complain as they all stick together. We had a brilliant result and obviously they had to vent their anger on someone .We are quite probably the easiest and best behaved fans these nasty people have to deal with. They just cant deal with the Highlanders and our sense of humour and the fact we know how to make our day out enjoyable.Dont allow these Bxxxxxxx to ruin a fantastic day in the hitory of CALEY THISTLE be proud and try to move on .I have. The only way to deal with these guys is to directly speak to the police, in this instance you would have been well within your right to report him to them and say you want to report an assault, the police then would have had to deal with it as they would with anyone one the street. Just because they wear a yellow or orange jacket doesn't mean they can push people about. There are cameras everywhere in the stadium and the incident would have been caught on CCTV. I love the atmosphere of sitting near the guys who sing their hearts out but can't be bothered with the hassle from the stewards so sit further away safe in the knowledge that I won't be bothered by them. It's a poor thing to have to do in this day in age to enjoy a game but the only reason they do it is because they are power freaks who think they can bully fans about especially when it's a small number of fans. The truth is the police can't stand them and from speaking to the police direct they say that their job is made much harder by them. Unfortunately there isn't much that can be done as no matter how many letters we write or phone calls we make it won't change. Action failed: You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day. Ach b0ll0cks, I tried anyway.. We should have unlimited green dots for days like this though, surely.
  17. As has been said before, it is an absolutely brilliant achievement to do this, regardless of what club you are or what league you're in. We do seem to have a brilliant team spirit and it was a great moment being in the away end when Munro nodded the equaliser over the line yesterday. That feeling of euphoria just can't be beaten in my opinion, and is the reason you pay all the money and give up other things to go to the football for. Amazing. Big hand to everyone that's been involved in this. Players, fans, backroom staff, coach drivers, just everybody.. Take a bow cause it is a great record to have and long may it continue. CALEY AWAY, WITH TERRY AND MO!!
  18. Thanks for the report. I don't get the reference to the "Big Jock New Camp." Could you please explain? Excuse my ignorance. Ignore him. He is prob one of those fans who sang sectarian songs at Caley park before and claimed it was getting behind the team. A couple of boys tried to start singing god save the queen but were told to shut the f**k up after 2 seconds so it stopped thankfully. Just to set the record straight I am not one of those fans who used to sing sectarian songs at Caley Park nor have I ever sang sectarian songs and never will. I don't like it or condone it in any shape or form and have been an adversary for it to stop. I challenge anyone who can say they have heard me sing anything like that and I certainly didn't do it yesterday!!!! I was trying to be funny, I don't like Celtic, out of all Scottish clubs they are the ones I hate the most and excuse me for trying to bring a bit of light hearted fun into my post. I've read far worse on here in previous threads and posts. I enjoyed it Mr CaleyJag, just cause your sense of humour isn't everyones cup of tea though I find JoeDi's accusation a bit out of order. No need to label someone you don't even know. Let's just enjoy and revel in the fact we have the best away record in Britain people.
  19. Brilliant, just absolutely brilliant. First off we'll start with the stewards though, who ruined several peoples days out for no reason whatsoever. Big Jamie and another boy sitting close to him got chucked out for apparently 'pointing at the stewards' when they were actually just putting their hands up while singing a song. I tried arguing their case with one man in a hi-viz jacket who I can only describe as a complete and utter waste of fresh air. Said steward just said he was breaking the law, and I was going to be the next out so they were watching me. Complete and utter joke. The police actually told them to stop chucking people out though, unless they were going to go and do the same to the 'Gay Brigade' in the corner across from us. Anyway, on to the football and what a game! We played some brilliant stuff at times and there wasn't a bad performance from anybody. Shinnie had the best game I've seen him play IMO, and Nick Ross had a good game too. Good to see performances like that from our youngsters in such a big arena where the pressure could get to a lot of lads their age. When Celtic's second goal went in against the run of play I didn't see us getting the draw, but the players seemed to get some inspiration from somewhere and just went for it. Pressure on their defence from Nick Ross and Richie Foran led to him nicking the ball of a defender and rounding the keeper to hit it in off the post. When that goal went in it just felt like we were going to get the equaliser we needed, and when Munro nodded in the feeling of euphoria in the away end was unbelieveable. Just felt brilliant to get it up all those cocky Celtic fans, and that absolute joke Neil Lennon. We were unlucky not to win it with a chance towards the end too, but suppose we'll take the draw... Butcher leading the team over towards us at the end and giving it 5 cheers instead of the usual 3 was brilliant as well, was a special moment. He must've been so happy to get it right up Celtic as well. After all the carry ons about will it or won't it go ahead, referees and treacherous weather conditions a lot of people had to go through to get to Glasgow yesterday, I for one am absolutely feckin' delighted it did, and we proved exactly what we're capable of in arguably the hardest away fixture in the country. Days like that just make you totally proud to support ICT and long may the away record continue. Everyone that's been part of it deserves credit cause it's an outstanding achievement no matter what club you are or what league you're in. Take a bow. Oh and one last thing... CALEY AWAY, WITH TERRY AND MO!!
  20. Aye, that's definitely not the point of view to be having. Can't take anything for granted, would be a nightmare to lose this. Aren't Elgin the only team in the country we've never beaten in a competitive game as well? Bit of added incentive here if so..
  21. Is this actually likely to bother anyone?
  22. Delighted for him when I heard he was in the squad, for him to score on his debut is just immense.. Take a bow son, and keep up the good work.
  23. And another great performance as standard from the away support this evening.. TERRY&MO!!
