  1. A few seasons ago Grant Munro had the longest throw in the SPL, and it was a good tactic to get him launching a ball into the penalty area getting us one or two goals IIRC. Noticed against Hamilton we always resort to a short throw now, which is usually given to one of our relatively lightweight wingers who are crowded out the opposing team and it results in nothing. Maybe not everytime, but in situations like Saturday when we're a goal down with a few minutes to go, it would be far more beneficial to get Granty on it and get a ball into the box rather than playing it short and into they're corner like we did. May have missed it if Grant has had any injuries preventing this, and apologies if that is the case. Discuss.
  2. Kev, those links don't work. (Because the pics are obviously private on Fb.) Is the first one you referred to the one that the big fella tied to the front of the Section G railings on Saturday? It looked new and it hasn't got any writing on it. It's very nice, by the way. I love the big flags and would also be happy to chip in. Aww, didnt realise that. But aye that would be the one you saw on Saturday.
  3. Would be game for chipping in towards one, there's already a couple been appearing recently though. First one.. Looking for ideas of what to print on it? 9.18 Loyal
  4. He would've gone for free at the end of his contract, and we needed to make big cuts in terms of wages so can totally see why we got rid of him. Don't think butcher was his biggest fan either, always had a feeling there was something 'behind closed doors' about Imrie's fall from First team regular to shunted out, rather than just Hayes being class for us.
  5. I have no doubt he would rise above it, realise the people posting that sort of garbage have a very blinkered point of view and no idea what they're talking about. The boy has talent and possibly the most potential we've seen from and 18 yr old at ICT for a long while. With a little bit of encouragement and some decent coaching he will be set for good things, so why people want to start a topic like this is just mind boggling.
  6. Aye, while he shouldn't have got MOTM I wouldn't be too critical of Rooney's performance. He put the effort in and was unlucky not to get a penalty in the 2nd half. As has been stated though it was hopeless just lobbing the ball up to him to try take on Mensing in the air, Mensing was winning it easily every time. Nae use. There wasn't anyone on the pitch that stood out as a MOTM for me though really, in our team or theirs! Poor poor game.
  7. Aye, was definitely the fans fault he scored.
  8. Definitely missed Richie Foran today. The boy Mensing played brilliantly for them and won everything in the hair, Rooney wasn't getting a sniff of the ball against him, although he was putting the effort in, and really unlucky not to get a penalty. If the ball hand't been heading goalbound I reckon it might've been given, mind you the ref was a complete feckin tube! No real good performances from us, Rooney, Odihambo and Ross get pass marks for effort but that's about it. Pretty lacklustre performance, and the sad thing is Hamilton weren't much better than us really. Big fall from grace after the result at Tannadice last week, but hopefully we can pick it up for the Hibs game
  9. However he is no longer in an ICT shirt, and didn't show us any respect so don't see why he should get shown any. Hate him with a passion.
  10. Aye was a strange one giving Rooney MOTM. The boy Mensing was superb for Hamilton, and won literally every ball that came his way.
  11. He's always got the right ideas IMO and looking to take on defenders and get a ball into the box. Been one of our most consistent players in pre-season and in the first few games of the season. While not playing outstanding, he has still put in above average performances and works his socks off.
  12. Wtf are you on about? Nick and Hayes were our 2 best players today IMO and Nick put a few good crosses into the box in the 2nd half and won us a fair few corners. There was just nobody attacking the balls, but he still had the right idea and was getting it into the danger area. You're criticism is WAY off the mark. He is small and lightweight, agreed. This is something that could easily be worked on though, and he's still only 18. Give it time.
  13. Agreed. We played a lot better after he was shunted out the team, and the unbeaten run speaks for itself. He was decent as an individual, and always gave 110% for us, but get the impression he could've been a disruptive influence on the team last year. Played better when he wasn't involved, and must be a reason Terry wanted shot of him.
  14. 'meh hippo's f*cking sterving ya mad baldy v*gina! Jaffa Cakes are f*cking teckle, nae c*nt says no ti' one of them!' Genius.
  15. See here Anyone got any idea what's going on? Seems a bit OTT for a 'disturbance'..
  16. What sort of reception do you think he will recieve tomorrow? Good player for us when he put his mind to it, but always thought he was better than he actually was. (Saw us as his stepping stone to Rangers) He is arguably Hamilton's most dangerous player, however he does react to the fans, evident when he attempted a 'square-go' with the Jail End at our 1-2 defeat there last season. Seems like a bit of a jumped up little ned at times and that can totally take his mind off the game. Therefore I think he should be in for a decent bit of abuse after kick off tomorrow, even if for no other reason than to put their best player off his game.
  17. Are you mad or what? I seriously hope you jest! His options were what, precisely? I will repeat a post I made on the Peterhead thread..........Maybe so...but don't you think it would be just a leetle shade patronising to put the whole U-19 team in against Wick Academy in the NOS cup.given that with Gil and Foran still not fit, Innes not around and 16 penciled in for Peterhead.that leaves only four players who would get to rest anyway...........and there aren't enough u-19s to make up a team and fill the bench? I doubt anyone is going to get a rest. There was a choice to be made.and it was made....better to get to the next round of the CIS cup and possibly a chance of a big pay day, than the NOS cup, which will gain not a lot more than match practice. And, tbh. Wick is a decent enough team.......play good passing football......and only the terminally over-optimistic would have expected the divine right of winning just because we are ICT.......when we had no option but to put boys in against men. The boys played well.....very well for chunks of time.....worked hard for each other. They missed a few chances......made a few mistakes.............as did Wick..but wick took their few chances, made less mistakes. .... but then they have the benefit of experience. Oh dear.
  18. Yes, I'd go with that, although might start with Eric instead of Rooney, who along with Hayes, might benefit from a wee rest. A very impressive bench, if required. Straight swap then, Tokely in for Innes. I'd rather have Eric and Jonny on the bench for an injection of pace midway through the 2nd half, if we need it.
  19. No keeper and and no strikers playing upfront.. You are keen pal!
