  1. ...so no sign of a consensus then...
  2. Yep, central defence a priority, experienced striker second. Could do with some more players in general to freshen things up in midfield. It's probably our strongest point but confidence is likely to be seeping away. I expect our new signing will be Phil McGiure - you can hear it already. "Craig, are you disappointed with Inverness' lack of activity in the transfer window?" "No, getting Phil back will be like a new signing" (aye, but one that struggled to get a start at the beginning of the season)
  3. Am I the only one that doesn't understand this paragraph? I didnt understand it but i thought it may just be me but looks like i aint the only one It means that if you are only playing with one up, you're under a lot of pressure to score first but less likely to do so. If you lose a goal, you're f*cked. That's why we don't play one up at home! GOT IT!! ...here, hang on... :thumb04:
  4. See above about Imrie being doubtful before the match. May be we can't criticize Brew for that*. *(so just stick to Duff at R-B, Proctor at C-B, staying with a failing formation, not identifying the right players, not changing tactics at half-time, lousy subs and failing to inspire)
  5. 3-1. Simply not good enough. This is so reminiscent of Brew not being able to pull Dundee Utd out of a hole.
  6. Reported on 4 Oct 2008 Black said: "I'm a bit surprised the club haven't approached me yet on the subject of a new deal. It's something I'm quite keen to sort out and I think talks may start during the international break." On 4 Dec 2008 "There's a misconception that they have only just been offered contracts," said director of football Graeme Bennett. "These four players were all offered contracts at the beginning of the season" I wonder if beginning of the season means the international break? I know it's not the beginning but, well, it was a couple of months back. Bit strange nevertheless. Maybe Black meant negotiations haven't started after rejecting a first offer? No doubt when Black's at Plymouth, Leeds or Hibs, it'll all come out. I just wonder which side it'll fall on?
  7. Yeah, I know we couldn't match them, I was just being, um, flippant, ironic...mmm....thought-provoking...that'll do. I guess Livi might be having a fire sale soon - maybe we can do what they did to us?
  8. B*gger! Well, don't suppose there was much chance of him coming anyway. Then again, the Midlands versus the Highlands?
  9. I agree. He should stay. If Sutherland was perhaps coming on a bit, then we could say get rid of him but we'd have to replace Wilson. We've got youngsters not coming through, so it would really have to be a first-team player to replace him. Unless Brechin, Elgin or whoever has some undiscovered diamond for no money, then I don't know what who that could be.
  10. Being a very boring defensive minded manager... -----------------Calder------------------ Tokely----Dods-----Mann---Hastings -----------------Cherry---------------- -----------------Black------------------ Wilson---------Christie-------Robson -----------------Stewart--------------------- Substitutes: GK: Brown DEF/MID: Teasdale DEF/MID: Golabek MID: Sheerin MID: Juanjo ST: Dargo ST: Niculae What, no Wyness or Cowie??? This guy doesn't know what he's talking about!
  11. I don't want them to ACTUALLY go out of business but hee hee... ...and wasn't Pearse Flynn a lovely man
  12. I think we should laugh at Livi - they're the closest thing we ever got to a rival! Ross County? Naw, they're our little brothers. You can't dislike 'em for long - no matter how silly they can be. And hey, we may be in the same position soon but if Aberdeen got tanked by Celtic, I'd still laugh even though it was probably going to happen to us soon as well (although I'd laugh even more if the Dons spanked the Old Filth).
  13. I'm in Egypt and I get live SPL matches on ART (Arabic Radio & Television) Prime, ART3 and Libya Sports 2, with delayed matches also on al Jazeera Sport 2 and Kuwait Sport. Must be ridiculously cheap. No other western footie is on that much (mmm, maybe French). o yeah, the match. Remind me of Celtic v Man Utd. Frustrated them but no way did we do anything going forward. One or two decent touches from Black and Imrie but that was it really. Celtic never looked like losing but our defending from deep was fine. Then again, when you lose a goal early, so what?
  14. Jeez! Lost another goal due to a dodgy central defence! When the hell are we going to replace Dods??!! Hinkel and Nakamura rampagingn down the left despite Hastings doing pretty well.
  15. Can't see him being a like for like replacement for Thomson. Defensive midfield against attacking midfield. I'll be honest and say I don't think he's anywhere near Rangers quality. Look what happened to Alan Gow. I can see the same as happening to Cowie. Oh, and Rankin. I really liked him. I was asked at the time by Hibs supporters what he was like and I said he was a good attacking player with an excellent delivery and cracking shot but got criticised for not doing enough tracking back. I don't like attack-minded players being criticied for that. Why not criticise Roy Keane for not getting in enough crosses or a goal machine like Boyd not putting in enough work (witness Kenny Miller running everywhere - who's the best in the striking position?)? Different players have different strengths - play the right formation and you get the best out of them. And what's Hibs supporters main criticism? He doesn't track back enough! (supplied quite a few crosses for goals though)
  16. Old John Peel programmes downloaded from http://www.30242.net/ Just listened to sessions from Anhrefn, Age of Chance and The Bhundu Boys, with sessions from Primal Scream and the Happy Mondays recorded before they'd even released an album. Classic!
  17. Although I'll always support SPL teams in Europe, doesn't mean I can't have a good laugh at the Old Filth getting stuffed
  18. And St Mirren have theirs on pieandbovril.com - well, so it seems...
  19. I support: ICT, Scotland and Scottish teams in Europe, so come on the 'Tic (even though I grew up a Rangers supporter - no allegiance whatsoever to them now mind).
  20. And how many of the 10 might have been on that march to the Portland Club with the Apprentise Boy's? What have the BNP got to do with the Apprentice Boys? I fail to see the link. Probably ultra-nationalism at a wild guess
  21. In many professions, I'd agree but I think in professions where trust is paramount, i.e. the police and teachers, belonging to a racist organisation isn't conducive to the public good. If someone from that profession was found to be prejudiced against people of a certain colour, then they would have (and should have) no place in there. Actively campaigning for racist policies I think precludes working in certain positions. "Let everyone hold their own opinions without prejeduce" But that's the whole problem. How can a judge, for instance, be seen as impartial if he believes anyone non-white is intrinsically inferior?
  22. Obviously depends on tactics, opposition, training etc but I'd like to see Black and Proctor playing together for a while.
  23. PageBreeze is a pretty decent freeware WYSIWYG program.
  24. Didn't Black say he wanted to talk. I really get the impression he'll be forced to look elsewhere soon. All part of the 'we offered a deal but he wasn't interested' strategy. If there's no talk within the next couple of weeks, how can Black not begin to look out for himself and his family?
  25. I rate McPake highly. Doesn't matter how many centre-backs we have, McPake is better than them all. Yep, I'm including Munro.
