Okay, I remember that from a while back. Of course, that was before the huge promotion surge. I can't believe Tokely wouldn't be offered a contract and I'd be surprised if he turned it down.
-
Where is this? I found an interview in the Daily Record but couldn't see anything like that.

Hayes and Cox would be advised to stay. They're young and part of an established team. To move so soon without the knowledge that they can sustain first team football in a new set-up for a few pounds is counter-productive in the long-term. For the same reason, it might be advisable for Rooney to sign a new contract. I would have thought some of the legends, Tokely and Duncan, would want to stay, maybe Proctor too. The doubts would be Foran and Esson. They've both experienced bad moves in their career. Maybe a decent, if not the highest, wage, being key players under a system they seem to like would persuade them. Wouldn't rule it out.

I never doubted :allhail:

That will be so sweet !!! considering they were gonna skoosh it ! I'd kinda like ICT to get stuffed something like 5:0 by Dundee. That would drive their supporters bananas by turning it on against the top team, whilst getting stuffed by everyone else :allhail: Nah - 3-2 win for us (Rooney hat-trick) after being 0-2 down at half-time....and getting 9 wins in a row.... now that would be what you call a happy ending.... :021: Or, a great sliding tackle by Brian Kerr with Foran right through on goal. Blatant dive by the already booked Foran. Should be off but no! The referee, 30 yards away, over-rules his linesman. Kerr gets a straight red. Penalty! 1:1 after 90 mins. Only injury time. Djebi-Zadi well offside. What? The ref disagrees with his linesman? The goal is allowed to stand? Surely not! But it's given :)

I would fancy this team against the likes of St J and the Accies, so there's certainly a decent chance of doing something. Nice for Roy to get his team promoted. Who says there's no room in footballo for sentiment? That's what it's all about.

CHAMPIONS! Where's the fat lady?

Open all mics working fine for me. I use the link from Radio Nan Gh...however you spell Gael. Promotion asap. I could easily see us lose the next couple of games.

Pretty shocked at that. After so long out, can he really be anywhere near match-fit? I presume then, no contract renewal for Stratford.
-
Surprised Rooney features so little. Who wouldn't have a freescorer in their team?

I think in the whole of the bottom six SPL and the other three lower divisions, there's probably only McInnes* that could turn down Aberdeen. They have one of the highest wage structure in Scottish football, so top six is realistic. Just depends on the manager being good enough to maximise it. And managers have to believe they can do that, otherwise they wouldn't be in the hotseat of any club. *as he's probably being eyed up by EPL/Championship clubs - even then, he might think he can do something with the right funds.
-
Who else have we got? McBain won't be anywhere near match-fit. Ross is more of a winger, as is Eagle. Can't see DZ in there. The only alternative is to put Stratford in at right-back and Proctor in midfield.

Excellent - forwarded that onto a few people. David Cameron especially to a T.

Pretty much agree with everything Sorted said besides one or two things (ok, three then!): 1) I think Hutton is a fantastic player. Redknapp wanted a more defensive defence, which is why both Hutton and Bale struggled to get a game. Had he stayed, I think Hutton and Bale would have made a great pair of flying full-backs. 2) Barry Ferguson did very well at Blackburn, came back and was the best player under PLG (which is why he stayed and PLG didn't), then dragged a very poor Rangers team to a Euro final. He didn't come back from injury straight away, so was derided by the Rangers fans. Always was and still is a top class midfielder (maybe not Souness class but better than Lorimer or McGovern IMHO). (yeah, I know certain posters will accuse me of being Rangers - not true, just my honest opinion) 3) I don't think it is computer games. There the world over but there's not a world football decline. For me: - There's a lack of both street football and indoor facilities through fear of child-cnatchers and urban development. - The Old Firm constantly talking about how bad the SPL is doesn't make it attractive. That didn't happen 20/30 years ago. - Football - even for meaningless fixtures - is too expensive for people. How can a club justify asking a family of four to spend over ?50 to sit in the cold and watch a meaningless game. Summer football could greatly improve the game. It's new, exciting, will get more media coverage when English footie isn't on, loan players from the EPL would add extra excitement, kids could see a match then play without risking hypothermia (we woz harder back in them olden days) or needing floodlights (small boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts, enduring image, isn't it?).

Everyone should take this: http://www.whoshouldyouvotefor.com/ I knew a 'True Blue Tory' who ended up a Scottish Socialist on this. SNP isn't a wasted vote if the candidate gets elected. Especially in an election that is so tight that the government (whoever it may be) is going to struggle to get a majority in the HoC. And to add, it also means more power for the other smaller parties, like the Lib Dems in particular. The Greens have a decent chance of getting a seat. BNP no chance, despite the scare-mongering. Are you aware the Greens are a bigger party (more votes) and both are dwarfed by UKIP? It's ridiculous the BNP get massive publicity, when the Greens get next to zero and UKIP only slight more. Without looking it up, anyone name the Greens leader? Anyone name the leader of UKIP? And now the BNP? Chances are virtually no-one got the first, a few the second and most the third. Just not democracy in action.

Lots of distinctly average foreign players in the top two teams, especially Celtic. Fortune, Hinkel, Samaras etc - an absolute fortune (pardon the pun) wasted. For a fraction, they could have brought in the likes of Cowie, McArthur, Arfield etc and developed a team that would have lasted for years.
-
I miss it coz I never see any live matches with ICT any more. Loads of coverage of the SPL in the Middle East and North Africa (must be cheap). Probably more exciting to be challenging for a title than avoiding relegation. It has made me think if a 16 team SPL is the way forward. Wouldn't it just be reams of meaningless matches?
-
It'll never happen I know but I'd prefer a 10 team SPL but only play each other twice a season. How? Cut the current season in half with a winter break, so you have two championships a year. No meaningless matches, more trophies, more excitement. Teams in the First would have an instant chance of bouncing back, so it wouldn't be so crippling for finances. Currently that falls outside UEFA guidelines for how long a season must be so there would be no European qualification... ...so no annual embarrassment there either!

And what are the different economic policies between Labour and Tory? You couldn't fit a cigarette paper in the gap. Labour deliberately set out to mirror Ken Clarke's strategy. The Tories wouldn't have regulated the banks more. As someone once said, it's like voting for the puppet on the right or the left, not noticing it's the same guy holding both dolls.
-
I'm so disappointed it's between Labour and Conservative. Forgetting about the disgust of the expenses scandal, both held very very similar policies on the economy and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. A hung parliament would be the best option. And yet, socialists will still vote for a right-wing Labour Party and businesses will still vote for a Tory Party whose policies wouldn't have stood up to the financial collapse and whose last government led us into two recessions and record unemployment. You couldn't make it up.

Either Killie or Saints for me. Falkirk have made imprvements since Pressley became boss. I think they'll just about manage it. I suspect Killie might be going down to the First but it's all to play for.

It isn't "definitely our league" yet as, mathematically, several others can still win it. I agree that we are clearly the best placed and favourites for the championship, but lets not get carried away, in case we get left egg on our face. That said, it was another huge step closer today. The management and players need to keep the focus and not look any further thatn the next game - which is another difficult one against the Pars. I'm getting very tense as we get closer, hoping for the best, but still fearing the worst!! Mathematically only two other teams can win it. ARITHMETICALLY only two other teams can win it. EXPONENTIALLY Peterhead could swing it.

Finished third in his first season with 'Well then 7th in his second. So, mixed.
