  3. Not much left for me to slag after todays inept performance but I might as well add my twopence worth. Esson still not sure about him :024: Proctor good squad player but will get the chop now that Tokely is available Bulvitus looks like he can be a useful defender :022: Munro much improved from last season and probably our most consistent player :021: Lionel is murder and has to be rested :33: :clown2: Cox looks like he will be a good replacement for Black once he adjusts to the pace of Scottish footie Stratford Looks lightweight and has to work out which way we are shooting. Today he passed backwards 9 times out of 10, no correct that make it 19 out of 20 Eagle is still young and hopefully will improve we should give him time to fit in :splat01: Hayes has a lot of pace and and a some nice tricks but like Cox he is still not used to the Scottish game Sanchez needs a kick up the a#s to get more out of him. Skillful but lazy :whip01: Foran Looked better last season playing on touchline but has been pushed up front because of our lack of a striker :pain10: Onwards and upwords please

  9. Like you Charles I thought it was Neils dad. The Donnie we knew was a friend of my parents and lived for a long time in Bruce Gardens just a few doors away from my Gran and granda. He was also my boss in The P&J office in Rangemore Road where I was a young message boy delivering The Evening Express. As you said he played with Rangers in the fifties although I don't think he made it to the first team(could be wrong though). Charles if you get any more info from your newspaper colleagues or from Neil about Donnie I would love to here how he is doing.

  17. There was a Bruce Shaw in my class in in the High School, I believe he stayed in theDochfour Dr./ Columba Rd. area, I lost touch with him after leaving School and did'nt know if he joined the Police. The Bruce I knew was a very strong swimmer and competed in School Galas and local swim meets. Yes he was a big lump of a guy and he lived on Dochfour Drive and before that on Bruce Avenue. I think he was driving a taxi after that.
  18. I was in the 8th as well and I always looked forward to the weekends at Daviot. Tommy Ross arranged them as he was related to the Ross's who own the quarry. Some of stunts we got up to then would probably get us locked up today. One I remember is a night attack on a scout camp a few miles away. Nothing more than giving them a fright at 3 in the morning then letting a few tyres down so that they would not be able to follow us back to our camp. caleyboy one name you missed out on your list was Norman Miller who was always a great organiser of the fun and games. One thing I would disagree with you on was the footie team I always remember them as been rubbish but it was along time ago and my memory aint what it used to be.
  19. You have to laugh at some of the posters on here. Zander has just had knee surgery and is lined up to play for the first team. Not sure if he can walk properly yet but he has just been selected to play in the SPL. The rest of the team must be really bad.
  20. This reminds me of the time when Pele sent Barry Robson on loan to Forfar. Quite a few ICT fans had him doomed . He is now a Sotland Player. I rest my case.
  21. If we survive in the top league this season we would have to give credit to the players we have now. Terry knows if we do survive he has to find a real striker to get us up and challenging for the top six in the next campaign so that we don't have to suffer another season like this. If we have many more games like we had today my heart might not last till next August
  22. To find Jud's wallet you would need the magic circle Big Tam :thumb04:
  23. :018: Loads of "ifs" there JB - Hopefully will all bear fruit - Of Course Butcher is a good appointment - I actually think that the Board have finally learned from the whole ridiculous chaos - Read my posts - It is about what went on before that I am harping on about. You should read the posts as well !! Brewster made a total mess of it on the park and in the dressing room - most posters are blaming Brewster outright - the Board backed him - didnt they ? They acted ?!! - They had no feckin choice - They made atotal erse of it. Signing 7 players was an act of face saving and club saving desperation - perhaps we shouldnt have got rid of so many or bought so badly prior to this window. All I am saying is that the Board have made a feckin total mess of the last 18 months. But thanks fer the accolade - I feel that my efforts did bring about change and it is nice to be heralded fer once. Again agreed - Read the feckin post - great business - and did they do great business before that ? Were you happy with the manner in which they conducted themselves ? Was DS correct in publically chastising the support and the Trust ? Have they not made several major mistakes ? Did we not have to almost go into the mire before decisions were made ? You need a chip implanted in yer tunnel visioned brain. :thumb04: :015: :D ;) :P So look at my two posts again ya trio of numpties - look at what i am saying and what I am asking fer. I hoped that the Board had learned some harsh lessons and they can learn from Butcher as well. They have ostracised themselves from the support and it is THEY that should be doing something constructive to repair it. And wouldnt it be nice if we had just a modicum of remorse publically proclaimed. Not much chance of that - or is there ?
  24. Seven new players in and a new high profile manager. Great business from the board. I don't expect a certain poster to agree with my comments but it is easier for me as I am not carrying a giant chip on my shoulder.
  25. The Portland Club punters are looking forward to seeing him popping in for a pint
