  1. Nothing official yet??? When is he expected to sign?
  2. I wouldn't trust my money on any celeb bets and definitely would not be Iain Wright or Kamara!! .... saying that my France to win the world cup bet doesn't exactly shower me in glory. Stuck ?20 on a USA & England double today so hoping for no upsets
  3. I'm delighted to get Celtic first game... new manager, they don't know what to expect and we can make it a cup final for our first game (TV coverage is for sure).... if we manage the impossible then we have a massive advantage over the rest.. Can't wait to see Hayes up against Naylor he'll have him in knots.
  4. BBC Clicky Not bad at all.. :D First game against Celtic at home. Christmas at home against St Midden New Year in Perth
  5. MEGA LOL! Mon the swiss? Oh yeah. Few quid on Forlan tonight for FG @ 9/2 hes seen me right this season! Woop found an account with cash in it, tenner on Uruguay on Betfair matched at 11/8 pow
  6. hold up it's only the first round of games, still plenty of time to go yet
  7. That wasn't my memory of last season. Up to Xmas the defence were only playing for 45 minutes, then we learned to defend from the front with Rooney holding and distributing to a midfield which grew in confidence in the new year. With better protection, the defence came good. If we have the same "strong defence" (Bulvitis has gone has he not?) from the outset in 10/11 as we did last season it's going to be a rough Autumn. But good news re. Tokes :022: Think he's referring to the end of the season when Tokely was at centre half and we won every game he played there...
  8. Great news once signed but only 1 year... is that the club or Tokely's decision you think? It's worth saying that once Tokely's signed up the board deserves massive credit for sorting out 13 (?) new contracts and keeping every player Tel wanted for the new season. If we can add a few more players to the squad now we will be in great shape for the new season and more than capable of avoiding relegation.
  9. Sticking a cheeky bet on Asamoh Gyan for top scorer at 66/1 lone striker who already has a goal, playing Australia next and if they qualify they could easily end up facing USA in the ko stages..
  10. Andrew Greig, Kyle Whyte, Liam Polworth, Tom Smith, Martin Laing, Robbie Donaldson, Adam MacLeod, Calum Dingwall, Jack Sutherland, Charlie Christie
  11. or Aussies look very bad that Ozil looks like a player though
  12. Had just stuck cash on it being a draw and they he goes and does that... didn't even look bothered when he came off the park
  13. Yeh would agree with that ... I heard one team in another of the groups had a girl in goals :) We were unlucky in the sense that one of our better players took a head knock in the last group game, split the other guys head open and was out cold for a good few moments... quite worrying at the time. He was determined to play in the KO rounds but was well off the pace.... but no excuses they had a good team and deserved to go through. How did you get on when you were there?
  14. nice earner for you there.. South Korea were definitely best bet yesterday stuck ?4 on them to win at 15/8 today stuck ?6 on Serbia vs Ghana as a draw 9/4 (although was drunk last night when I made the bet and swinging towards a Sebia win as I sobre up)
  15. Green :) :) English over-hyped media  All this talk of Capello being a tactical mastermind and his team looked more disjointed than when McClaren was in charge. They have the players to win the tournament but there is no chance they'll come close with 2 calamity keepers, no natural left winger, a right winger who can't cross & Heskey. So far the Argies look the best team but I can't wait for the start of group D which I think will be the tightest of the lot. Nothing better than knowing the mrs is at work and I've got a day of football to look forward to... love the World Cup :)
  16. Well we didn't win. Aced our group without dropping a point and only conceding 2 goals 6 - 1 against Athletico Shire 2 - 0 against Crapnacuddin 7 - 0 against Stellas Strollers 3 - 1 against The Gambling Forum After pulled hamstrings, staved fingers, a burst head and a concussion we qualified top with crapnacuddin runners up. Unfotunately, we met the eventual winners, St Mirrnoff, in the next round of the knock out stage and crashed out 4-0. Our team were terrific and no disgrace in losing to the overall winners but was disappointed none the less. Great day out and I'd recommend it to anyone for next year. Perfect weather, plenty of goals, managed to win a crate of beer in the raffle and got to see England fluff their lines :) :) AAWWWWOOOOGGGGGGGAAAAAAA!!
  17. At work... bloody torcher having to read updates about the game had the game as 1-1 on my predictor but wish I'd stuck a few quid on it now. predicted 2-0 France for next game (although think they'll probably be a let down as always)
  18. ahh but you're proper fooked when France win it :P
  19. So far I have: ?5 France 20/1 with Sky Bet ?5 Holland 12/1 with Paddy Power ?5 Spain 4/1 with my free Sky Bet ?2.50 each way Villa top scorer 9/1 with Sky Bet ?2.50 each way Rooney top scorer 10/1 with Paddy Power ?1 Rooney top scorer and Spain eventual winners 50/1 with Bet 365 I'm not really a big spender with betting (as you can probably see) but one of my mates just stuck ?120 on Holland & Spain to top their groups at even odds... good bet if you have the capital
