You say that but remember Chelsea have lost points so far to Everton & Wigan... hardly the top teams in the EPL. Drogba is the best forward in the world at the moment, any team would suffer with him out the line up, his back up is usually Kalou who will also be in Angola so that only leaves Anelka.. still more than capable of doing a job on his own but not as strong a front line It's all about the brummies Villa & Birmingham doing the 2nd city proud... delighted for McLeish. Watched the game last night and Barry-back-pass actually showed himself to be a decent player :D

Before Van Persie got injured I stuck a few bob on Arsenal winning the league.. :021: however if they can stay in touching distance until Christmas and buy a decent forward i.e. Gignac then they are more than capable of taking the league. There is a determination about Wenger this season, I think he is desperate to prove all the doubters wrong Chelsea will lose points when Drogba, Essien & Mikel leave for the african nations and unless Man U buy big at Christmas (unlikely) then I can't see them winning the title I wouldn't be suprised to see Liverpool go unbeaten for the rest of the season..

Stuart Duff
Nothing glamorous but he has been about enough clubs to suggest he is a good professional player and if anything will have a positive effect on the team. As a player, I've never rated him but he'll definitely do a job for us and is probably better than what we have at right back

Barry Wilson
I think he'd do a better job than Sanchez

Time for a Reality Check?
Brewster - Did a lot of things right. He brought through youth players because he knew we didn't have the spending capabilities of other clubs + Was a hands on manager and involved in everything from trainining to even contributing on the park + Almost every player he's bought has excelled at the club, had a real eye for good/cheap signings + He had an excellent away record, comparitable with only the OF + Excellent fitness regime + He was the man behind our relegation - He had the team playing some dismal football, which resulted in an awful home record - He got rid of/badly treated some of our legends, which resulted in a back lash from the fans - He was awful infront of the camera, some of his interviews were embarrassing - IMO he would be a tremendous assistant manager as demonstrating at C*unty at the moment but in the end as a manager he wasn't good enough Butcher - Brings PR to the club, intices players Brewster might not have because of his status within the game + Media friendly & articulate, I enjoy reading any of his interviews because generally he talks sense + Nearly saved us from relegation & our record with him when we were in the SPL was excellent + Has got us trying to play football, better on the eye than what Brewster produced + For the amount of TV he does I wouldn't be suprised to see this referred to as his part time job - He preferred Zadi & Golly to Hastings - Let 2 of our most talented yougsters leave for County - Although he's brought in some good players he's also brought in some very poor ones - We're sitting mid table in the first division because of our inconsistency - Hasn't managed to beat our rivals on either occasion - Seems to lose all the crucial matches - Lost from winning positions in consecutive matches, which suggests poor fitness - The Team - Isn't bad if we sort out our defence, certainly good enough to compete with any other in the league Tactics - If they work + If they don't - Rooney looks like a completely different player when up top on his own... at 21ish he and Hayes must be worth a few bob if we can tie down decent contracts The Fans - Demanding.... and ill-informed The Board - The one thing that the board has without doubt failed upon throughout it's tenure in the SPL has been turning a potential profit. We have operated poorly as a business by not being able to capatilise on our prise assets... the amount of quality players we have let slip through the net because we've been unable or unwilling to offer contract extensions is ridiculous. The one player we sold for a profit we made an @rse of and now are being sued for it... financially this club has been niave and because of that we are now in the first division paying the price take note - Rooney & Hayes should be signed on as long a contract as they will agree to!!! The Future - I think first of all we need to establish if Butcher is likely to stick around for the long run. I can't imagine we'll get promoted this season no matter who we buy in January Dundee will spend more. His contract runs out at the end of the year so if he is willing to stay great, he can show his dedication to cause and hopefully convince some of our players to stay... I think a lot of fans would appreciate he is wanting to be part of our resurgance. If he is planning on leaving if we don't get promoted it could lead to a mass exodus of players and having to rebuild from scratch with no money and little assets we will struggle

What could've been!
Watching the match just now it's sickening to think of 3 players playing in that game that could should be at ICT. Mensing, we had the option to buy him and were outbid by a first division outfit (at the time)... IMO he would have been a great signing for us but we lacked the ambition to offer a competitive salary Hastings, has been excellent for them so far. Don't understand how anyone could consider Golly or Zadi to be better than him Black, probably Hearts best player so far. I can understand it would have been difficult to keep him when his boyhood team had stated their interest but the fact we let him leave for nothing just show the clubs niavety and lack of faith in the player. it's only watching this game today when you realise how far we've dropped

World Cup draw
Scotland need to apply for the 33rd place in the world cup ahead of Ireland... never mind a handball, we were unfairly disadvantaged with Kris Commons claiming to be an international class footballer :icon_police:

Fitness - Lack of
Does anyone actually know what the teams training regime is? I heard they are only in training from 9-12??? surely that can't be true!!

Tokely's broken hand blow
Can't agree with you more, Rossco's had horrible luck since that Falkirk game.. hopefully the big man can find form again but at the moment he's made us look very weak. He was terrible against Partick... worst player on the park IMO... I think Bully would do a great job for us at RB but it's finding someone that can do a job in the centre A chance for Shinnie to shine? :( I think Shinnie is a left sided full back... Scott-Woodhouse might be worth a shot though Scoot-Woodhouse left in the summer, I seem to recall he was away to Uni to become a PE tecaher Yeh i thought Struan had left in the summer, anyway hes a LB not a RB same with Shinnie unless he is very adaptable Didn't realise he'd left He played as right back against Rangers in the Youth cup semi final... thought he was the best player we had on the park

Re-Building Process
How to get ICT back to the SPL in 5 quick steps: 1) Sell Imrie to Hamilton during the christmas period for 70k 2) Use that money to fund contracts for Hayes, Cox, Foran & Bully 3) Should be some left over to buy an experienced tall centre half (Bullen?) and a young Don Cowie on loan if we have to. 4) Keep to the current formation (Rooney looks as though he's made to play upfront on his own) 5) Work on fitness & not conceding any goals for the rest of the season :( Guarenteed success, if not, a full money back guarentee :( :(

Bulvitis
Definitely should be kept, I think he'd make an excellent full back. He offers a pyhsical presence to our back line... works his erse off every game (although there are a lot of kinks to straighten out).. & he's young so could make us a decent profit. Bully gets my vote

2-0 Up at halftime. what would you have done?
Ok then, what would you have done at 2-1? Clacher????

A proposed solution
Best idea I've seen from anyone re improving the atmosphere
-
When Hayes gets fitter
I hope we can arrange for a contract extension for Hayes, he is a belter of a player... best decent winger since Bazza
- Team for Partick

Atmosphere
I thought on Sunday we had the core of the ICT support, without the usual 'attend-TCS-because-I've-nothing-better-to-do-on-a-Saturday-supporters'. I can understand the club is a business and needs these 'supporters' to provide extra income but IMO if they focused the club around our core element then we would have a much better atmosphere at TCS and probably a better home record

2-0 Up at halftime. what would you have done?
Ok then, what would you have done at 2-1? I think the point I was raising (or trying to) from this thread is, as disappointing as the result was I don't think Butcher did much wrong! Although we don't know what went on in the team talk, the team was set up perfectly - justified by the first half performance. When we went 1 down it made sense to bring Sanchez off and put Cox on to offer more stability to the midfield. Odhiambo could have come on earlier but who do you replace him with? Hayes - probably our best player on the day, Rooney - leaves us with no physical present upfront & he was playing well, Foran - probably would have been my choice but can you imagine his reaction?? Duncan or Proctor - doesn't make much sense when you are a goal up

EPL
What you mean old school stadium  ? Yeh, sorry Stadium is unique.. infact the whole experience was unique and it felt as though we'd warped to 1960. Very nostalgic stadium and you can tell it's almost part of the history of Burnley... the exact opposite of us & our stadium tbh

Everyone seems to have an opinion on this... so did Butcher do much wrong at half time. Would you have made changes?

Partick Thistle Roll Call
Crosslands is your best bet but as long as you stay clear of the Viking you're sorted Pay weekend for a lot of us so imagine we'll have a decent-ish turnout

Dundee -V- ICT : cup final thread
A professional foul is only ever punished with a yellow, which makes me think this must have been an extremely bad challenge to see a straight red. Not seen the replay yet but from the stand it didn't look that bad???? Any one else have a better view?

Dundee -V- ICT : cup final thread
Thought Munro had a decent game.. certainly the first half he was pinging the ball about (similar to Bobby Mann).. would need to see the goals again to see if he was at fault How bad was Imrie's challenge... did it merit a straight red? (thought it was a yellow at best at the time)

Partick Thistle Roll Call
I'll be there... Birthday game so looking forward to picking up 3 points and btw I think Terry will be just as gutted as everyone else but playing it down because the defeat will have a psychological affect on the team
