  1. glad to see for how drunk I was last night I still managed to get razz matazz into a sentence :015: How come every thread re wages, contracts or salaries reverts back to Niculae? Duncan has every right to question his salary, as he says in his interview he is at the age where he needs to think about this family in the long term. Niculae may have made other players question their current pay grades but it was going to happen anyway when they see other SPL players at the same level being paid more money, I'm sure their agents probably remind them every transfer window. But at the end of the day if it gets us into the top six or the slim chance of European competition it will have paid dividends.
  2. what I found astonishing is that certain forum members don't appreciate the contribution players like Dunacan and Tokely make the squad (or the club on the whole). When players lke Niculae, Black, Fraser fill there full potential it will be the Duncan's and Tokelys that stick the team when the other razz matazz players feck off to other teams for more money. They are the heart and soul of ICT

    Offski?
  4. that is possibly the strangest formation I have ever seen
  5. 9 years without a win against Arsenal and then they get a result like tonight's, 5-1, fair play. Just hope it doesn't take us another 9 years
  6. ... and for the last time IT'S CALEY ARMY always has been always will, in my eyes anyway but admire what you're trying to do it's a good idea
  7. agree get Miller's dad back to do the pies... there was never any bother in the First Division when he used to do it, it's not exactly rocket science is it Business should be kept local anyway not fae Aberdeen

he was short of match fitness that was evident but to be fair to the lad getting thrown in for your first match, in however months, against Rangers he did alright. Plenty of running and wasn't scared to try and take on a player even if he was a bit leggy towards the end of the match, he never stopped.

  10. matters not the reason, a transfer fee was still paid Was it ? Dundee Utd were paying in installments for both Brew (compensation) and Proctor (transfer fee) and there is/was a lot of discussion/speculation as to whether they ever paid in full......... Anyhoo, that particular deal aside, the bottom line is that we are still a loss making side who need to pull out some good cup revenue or transfer profits each year to break even. The last couple of years have been decent for us but the simple fact is that most years, any unexpected revenue simply goes to keeping us in the black. This year, the 'profit' from the Rankin deal might offset the increased wage bill, otherwise i fear we will make a loss because of our early cup exit. why would we be making such a loss each season when our infrastructure has hardly changed since we were in the lower divisions. We were in the Black when we were promoted, our salaries haven't increased so much and if anything should be matched by our increased attendances and extra tv revenue. There hasn't been any massive changes on the merchandising side of things, the 2 stands seem to be our only real major investments and were sponsored and contributed to by Tulloch Obviously there will be a lot of things I have missed but on the whole we should be up a fair bit of cash. Maybe saving up fr something i.e. a fourth stand, a rainy day or a big signing might just have gone in the back pockets
  11. matters not the reason, a transfer fee was still paid were you expecting a full financial forecast for the next 4 years :021:
  12. :021: :021: crossing was immense. if he had scored he would have been man of the match what a silly miss though
  13. If you are included Daddy Brew at ?200K then surely you have to include Pele & John Robertson as the 200K was for Brew the Manager was he not still a player at that time :rolleyes02:
  14. he's played 3 matches, give the boy a chance
  15. After finally making a reasonable profit on Rankin I am curious of exactly how much profit the club has made in transfers since we were promoted to the SPL. Probably out on a few of these so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong Ins Rankin from County - 65k McDonald from Gillingham - 9k Paatalianen from Cowdenbeath - 12k McGuire from Dunfermline - Undisclosed (likely to be a nominal fee) Wyness from Hearts - unsure, was on loan but not too sure if we had to buy out his contract Outs Brown to Celtic - 175k Rankin to Hibs - 110k Brewster to United - 200k Proctor to United - 50k apart from the above, players have come and gone through free transfers We seem to have made a profit of almost 400k :010: :010: I'm sure I've missed something because it doesn't seem right. Firstly, you have to applaud the board on what looks like some excellent business. Then have to ask where's the money gone? I can't think of any major investments the club has made since the 2 stands were put up, so unless we are still paying this off.. what is actually being done with the money that has been accrued from transfers over the last few years, not to mention the increased attendances and merchandising sales?
  16. get in what a legend
  17. where's the "brings tears to the eyes" smilie ...... :010: where's the "sick of cnuts who only come on the internet to wind people up" smilie?
  18. Class, almost exactly how I would describe Rankin, proverbial 'nail on the head' then it all goes wrong :029: Mensing wouldn't be a bad signing though
  19. Can I ask why Deano was getting encouraged to dance?
  20. Totally agree.... That was the midfield that lined up for most of the second half against Gretna, and although we didn't score during that period, we were in total command.... To take both Rankin and Marcus out of our squad now would be a huge body blow... Have to agree both have different attributes, Rankin great shot good passing more of a midfielder than a forward. Marcus is more physical better in the air and seems more like a forward than a midfielder My midfield would be like so.. Duncan Black Cowie Paat.. Marcus Rankin with Niculae playing target man himself but with Rankin leaving I would like to see Marcus in the hole and McBain out wide until Zander comes back and wins his place on the left wing the future: Duncan Black Cowie Paatalainen Zander :021: :021: :021: :021:
  21. I think the board are doing brilliantly by not get bullied into selling Rankin. Hopefully a stupid club will come in with a big offer and we can be rid.... but if not he can buy himself a new house and get on with fulfilling his contract. Delighted we have pushed out St Mirren dirty junky scum bags
  22. fair play as I sayid hope I'm wrong don't think it helped that Niculae & Brew got awards cursed I telll ya
