  1. Ahh those were the days when you could rely on players doing exactly what was expected of them... Sheerin, Mann & Stewarty... we had such a good team back in the day!
  2. aaahhh ****** ******, say no more :004:
  3. Esson & Barrowman are decent signings but you have to take into account the players that have left/likely to leave who do you class as an excellent signing? Ryan Esson is the best keeper we have had at this club since we lost Mark Brown. Barrowman is a far better prospect than the man he replaces - Bayne. Both excellent signings in terms of our needs and our limited budget. Well done Brewster. not like me to be pessimistic but how do you work that out? Esson hasn't played in over a season and is likely to be back up to Fraser (who IMO will be better than Brown ever was) Barrowman is replacing Bayne, Wyness & possibly Niculae... also untested at this level
  4. Esson & Barrowman are decent signings but you have to take into account the players that have left/likely to leave who do you class as an excellent signing?
  5. I'd be encouraged if we were after Dobbie.... but even if it was a trial.... Crawford?
  6. the whole story is a fecking joke If Crawford is the standard of player that Brew is looking at then we may as well start prepairing for first division football now and for him to dump us for East Fife?? come on!!!!!! :008:
  7. agreed, Duffy was not the answer. I'm still not convinced that Brew is but at least he has plenty to prove.. Brew must realise that after the disaster at United this is his last chance at SPL level, if he screws up now (for our sake I hope he doesn't) then there wont be many teams that would take a punt on him.
  8. fair play to the lad for agreeing to do it although it might be daunting for one youth player to come into the squad I'm quite encouraged that there is a group of players coming through at the same time
  9. why a loan signing? are we going to go through the transfer window without spending any real money?? I'm sure the board are delighted that Brew is keeping his spending to the minimum he's yet to sign a player of any real quality IMO
  10. I'm trying to look on the positives I'm hoping Killie are one of the teams we can finish ahead of this season.. Gibson, Ford, Bryson & Fernandez (although wages & injuries I don't think he'd be worth the hassle)
  11. who Kilmarnock??? Jeffries who stated just after christmas that Killie "had nothing to play for anymore" Killie's squad is weak, they're one of the few teams in the SPL that I'd struggle to find anyone that would improve our first team stadium, fair enough but it is filled with OF supporters that can't afford season tickets for their preferred teams good pies though!
  12. If there is even a slight chance we can get him I hope Brew is pulling out all the stops but that doesn't mean we can't get Elliott as well.. remember Brew said he was after 2 forwards
  13. been a couple of times, nice wee stadium
  14. I think you've got the same opinion as most fans I'd love to see Niculae playing at the club next season because I don't think we've seen the best of him yet. If Brew get's the finger out and buys a pacey striker to play along side him then it would give him more space to do his ting. I just know that if we don't sell him we're going to miss out on a feck load of money and even if he did sign an extension to his contract I doubt we will receive offers of the same magnitude next year. If the board receives an offer > ?700k they have to sell him IMO but anything less and I'm sure there will be plenty of posters on here that will question the decision
  15. I'm also one of the few that think Rossco would be an excellent centre half, he has every attribute a centre half requires. I also think it would cement him as an eventual club captain I'd love to see it an don't understand why no one has given it a try
  16. not meaning to speculate but since Laszlo is Romanian do you think he will be familiar with Niculae????
  17. first of all, it was very gay of me to number my answers I just can't agree that the club is not progressing; we have just had a player represented in a international competition, as a buisness the club has excelled since it was established and we are playing in the premier division. I think if a fan from another team looked at this thread they would accuse us of being ungrateful for the position we are currently in. not everything can be done at lightspeed
  18. fits the bill
  19. well said sir! :clapping03:
  20. 1) Do you know anything about the invester? Is there a chance Sutherland was preventing a dictatorship like there is at Hearts? 2) Some/most would say that's a good thing! 3) Warnock admitted he was never interested in the job 4) Not sure, never had to worry about it, the team I support has always made sure I don't have to worry about it. I care about the club but at the end of the day I pay money because I want to watch them play football. The internal matters I leave to the people that are paid to do them. I am more concerned with what has sparked this sudden paranoia when nothing has gone wrong! You/I don't see the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes but what you can see is the continued success of SPL stability. Since being establised we have never had to deal with failure and for that the board deserve full credit. If we did get relegated, and that's a big if, we wouldn't fall to pieces because the board have kept wages to be one of the lowest in the SPL. Personally I hope that the majority of the fee we receive from the Niculae transfer will go towards improving things at the stadium as well the playing staff but we need that massive investment to push things along.
  21. Dundee are a perfect example of why we shouldn't keep Niculae Of course, and that's why your suggesting on another thread that we should replace him with 2 or 3 other players of lesser quality which would expand our wage bill into the bargain :rolleyes02: I'd rather have a well balanced squad than 1 good player... what if Niculae got injured? What if he has a poor season? Hibs are the best example, they have produced > ?10mil selling 'key' players in the last 4 years and still finished in the top 6 last season 1 player doesn't make a team
  22. but that's the point we are not in any position to buy proven players, Niculae was a fluke purchase. We are only going to make money and progress by producing youth players or looking to the lower divisions as we have done since we were first established as ICT. Unless the club decide to throw wages at players and become the next Leeds, Dundee, Livi, Gretna etc. we're going to have to continue selling our biggest asset to invest for the future. Eventually when we have a full stadium each week we can start to take risks but we are far from that at the moment
  23. Dundee are a perfect example of why we shouldn't keep Niculae
  24. Jackson from St J, Ludovic Roy from Dundee, try to convince Steve Lovell to stay in Scotland (although unlikely) but I'd expect with the ?250k left over a scout would be able to tempt one of the top scorers in Div 2 in England, another Chris Porter for example!
  25. No No No No
