I spent the first ten years of my work life working for the TSB. Most of the time spent on the corner of Union Street and Church Street but with occasional trips to Nairn, Invergordon, Tain, Gudgieville, Aviemore, Kingussie and Grantown. Even got as far as Perth once. As the TSB never issued their own notes we used to have to acquire them from another bank, so two of would walk around to the BofS on High Street, fill a couple of suitcases with around ?80,000 of used notes and then walk back again. This was done most days by the same route at about the same time and nobody ever bothered us. Eventually, Securicor took on the job depriving me of a bit of a skive.

Thought all our best performers were in defence and we rarely threatened at the other end. As has been mentioned Celtic had Sno playing but also a very uninterested looking Riordan and their new striker Ben Hutchison who scored a good second goal. Apart from that it was what you expect from a Celtic second string - a Diarmid, a Ryan and an O'Somebody.

As I drive about the Sneck I'm constantly intrigued by some of our street names. For example, so many are named after fields that it paints a much more rural picture compared to the Inverness of today. I'm not pretending this list is exhaustive but... Fairfield Planefield Bellfield Damfield Annfield Mayfield Caulfield Morningfield (a recent addition) Springfield Drumfield Also, who are some of our streets named after? Some would seem to be named after old provosts - Provost Smith, Grigor and Mackay spring to mind. Is it just a matter of time before we have Coffin John Crescent? However, who was Greig and who were Maxwell, Smith and Lindsay to have streets in the same vicinity named after them?

Upstairs in Littlewoods also sold records at one time but TORS was certainly the place to be seen.

SMEE - Not a chance! Since the formation of Caley Thistle I've lived some of my footballing dreams. Twenty years ago I could never have imagined I would see a team from Inversnecky beat Celtic and Rangers. Don't get me wrong, I loved growing up watching football in the Highland League but Caley and Thistle got out at a good time. Sometimes I think the younger generation of ICT fans don't appreciate the enormity of what has been has been achieved since 1994.

I was at Huntly and it was the unhappiest day I ever spent watching Caledonian FC. I was quite excited about the merger and never felt my team was being killed off, rather developing into something bigger and better, which has proved to be the case. The behaviour of some Caley fans was embarrassing particularly because they spoilt what was a gala day for Huntly who had just won the Highland League for the first time in donkeys years. A day I'd rather forget.
