Gary Warren ?
To be fair I think that Brewster had inherited a winning team there althoughI bet that his fitness and diet regime had made a difference. And back to topic - read the following two excerpts - to me that says that we are getting a player with real potential - one who WILL die for the shirt and has leadership qualities. look forward to seeing this guy in action. January 6th 2012 : Centre-half Warren was devastated by County’s 3-2 away defeat against bottom club Bath City in midweek and says: “We are deep in trouble near the foot of the table and only we can put that right. “Nobody else is going to help us. We conceded three sloppy goals at Bath and that’s the story of our season, conceding stupid goals. “Losing against Bath City was a massive blow. Now we go to Luton Town needing a win. We have to show character, a bit more fight and hunger. That was a massive match in midweek and we failed. Now we have to stick together, work hard and do everything possible to get a run together. “We keep saying we have enough quality to move away from trouble, but it’s no good talking. “We have to show that on the pitch" Newport boss Justin Edinburgh: “He’s signed for the ex-England captain who, for my money, played in exactly the same manner Gary does,” said Edinburgh. “Terry Butcher was a big, brave centre-back and a real leader. What better manager for Gary to play under? “You look at the move really and think that it was written in the stars. They are like two peas in a pod. “Gary will play at Celtic in front of 60,000 people next season and how many players can say they’ve done that?” The move completes a whirlwind 12 months for Warren, who captained Great Britain to a silver medal at the World University Games in China before leading Newport to the FA Trophy final at Wembley and helping them stave off relegation in his first season since turning professional. Warren had been linked with a move to League Two outfit Cheltenham Town, who had a £10,000 bid for him turned down last summer, but Edinburgh confirmed the rumours that Inverness have won the race for his signature are true. “Gary Warren leaves the club with our best wishes and we want him to be a massive success up there, but personally speaking I’m disappointed,” he said.“I feel that Gary, even though he’s 27-years old, in football terms he’s more like 21 or 22. “I thought another year with us would be the best thing for his career, he’s only been a professional for one year.” Out of interest does anyone know where he was born and what degree did he get at University.

Dear Mr Cameron,
This thread is a bit like a long winded do***entary. It needs the intermittent injection of light relief in the form of an advertisement break. Proctor says it all in post no 90 - just copy and paste.

Feck me I hope it aint away and Dewsburydude is going ? But I quite fancy seeing a couple of bristols in consecutive pre-seasons.- Dear Mr Cameron,
Glasgow City Rangers have announced ther new strip for the SPL next season :- Transfer News.
As I have aluded to on "Rumours" there may be two further loanees from Wigun. But to me this is the kind of communications that we have needed for a long time.- Dear Mr Cameron,
Please send to PO Box 121, Chorley PR7 4RT- Pre season fixtures
But unfortunately they are staring the season with the large majority of the squad that they had last season - which means that they have less acclimatisation to deal with, are aware of each others strengths and weaknesses and have'nt exactly signed anyone particularly who has never experienced the SPL level or equivalent before. We will be signing players who may look the part at Wick or Clach but - sorry - but our previous experience is that "flaws" are not always detected in pre season training as they should be.- Pre season fixtures
Is it about preparing the newbies for the SPL.....or preparing them for playing as team against any opposiiton? Now that actually does reek of total naeivity !!- Anti-Butcher brigade - What's the expectation
I agree with those as well which only goes to show that you can harbour differing views about individual performances and the running of the club in general.- Anti-Butcher brigade - What's the expectation
I agree with: In a nutshell! Team bonding, loyalty to the club and make inroads into playing attractive football without the loss of many games.....not easy ! Firstly, I think we need to try and get away from having to rebuild a team every year by having players sign one year deals. I know that it can be difficult to sign players on longer deals but i think it has to be done or at least considered. Secondly, I think we have to build up a core of our playing staff (50%) to be made up of players through our youth system or drawn frm Highalmd League, lower Scottish Divisions. There must be players at that level who can cut it at a higher level and, along with home produced talent, are more likely to stay for longer building continuity. This may also have the benefit of bringing in transfer fees somewhere down the line. Lastly, the Board need to be more proactive with fans as i am sure there are a lot of people out there willing to help the club in whatever way they can but this has not been tapped into. If we finish 7th next season and have to change the entire team again I wouldn't be happy. That's the problem for me, I don't want to keep seeing massive overhauls on our squad. I agree with the comments about team bonding, spirit and the guys playing for each other being motivated - that's heavily at TB's door but many of the players have to take responsibility too - last year many let us down and didnt show enough commitment. The style of play, tactics and scouting process are the areas that TB should be critisised for IMO. As for expectations SPL survival would be good every year plus at least one cup run to a semi or further every few years. Thats what I expect and if TB can maintain that or deliver better then I'm satisfied with him in charge. I would love to see TB announce the signing of some replacements!!! Not that they havent been said or posted before and a shure sign that some people just look at the negativity.- ICT new home shirt 2012-14
- Do You Have Faith in Butcher?
Fully agree, its tedious. Seems there is a witch hunt against TB and for some on here he will never be accepted. Quite what he has to achieve with this provincial club which has a small fan base, a geographical location making the signing of players difficult all while being in a league so highly monopolised by 2 clubs is unknown. This forum is devised to allow fans to voice their opinions. Have you actually read through the threads and tried to pick out some of the more sensible, middle of the road comments / posts ?- Anti-Butcher brigade - What's the expectation
Sorry but from my perspective I could not have been any clearer. Just look at the content of the thread already.- Season Tickets
It is down to the performances on the park and the perceived flaws in the management and leadership of the club that people are making the decision not to renew their ST's with an added financial consideration for the majority. There are a lot of diligent employees trying admirably to promote the club and I would say that Kenny Cameron does have the club at heart but his "job" is as much to be the spokesman at the moment which places him as the "scapegoat" to zoom in on. From my perspective we are getting as much communication as we have done in a long time, albeit having to be dressed up in more "political" verse. As with most things today the reinstatement of the "togetherness" factor also needs financing.- Pre season fixtures
Well that is really going to prepare the newbies for the SPL !! I may however visit the hedge again !!- Anti-Butcher brigade - What's the expectation
Not exactly sure where this thread came from and where it is leading to. It purely seeks repetitive comments from the other threads, invites more criticism, disagreement and increases frustration levels.- Dear Mr Cameron,
I fear for the future of the SPL and Scottish football in general BUT Rangers should not be treated any different to any other club and should be appropriately punished for their only too evident misdemeanours over some period of time now. They deserve the absolute disgrace of playing Elgin CIty. - Team for first pre season game
