Mystery exile may invest in Caley Jags
I have received a phone call from Jeff's PA - a bloke :006: - after leaving a message on a number Worm gave me. As far as it goes Jeff is subsidising the trip to Texas only at the present time - he has intimated that he may be willing to put more money in on the "infrastructure" of the club. I suggested that if he was going to splash some of his dollars that he should look at subsided attendance prices. The response I got was. - "Fair point - how did you avoid jail?" - Well feck Jeff feckin MacDonald.

ICT V Aberdeen - matchday thread
What a feckin great nite I have had watching Setanta. I asked a few of my work mates to come along, with a bevvy of course..and one of ma mates took this guy with him called Dennis Booth, feckin uglier, fatter and older than I, who is one of the first team coaches at Preston Knob End. He apparently makes up dossiers on teams that Knob End know little about. He has never seen ICT live before and as he says there is a big difference watching a team live and watching them on telly, plus he also stated that you have to watch a team 2-3 times to get a real idea BUT some of his comments were , IMHO, pretty spot on and some of his comments were quite surprising but on thinking about them I can see where he is coming from. His attendance really confirmed my thoughts about some things but made me think about others in a different context. Plus he said ICT were going to score then said they were going to concede. He felt a draw was the fairest result but that the Dons were the better footballing sidebut not the better organised. Should I share them or should I put them on another thread??

Duncan or Black?
Wouldnt go as far as that but he was dissapointing. As I said elsewher (not he feckin MatchDay thread) JR once again proved that he was not up to being an SPL playmaker yet. And he didnt play in front of Duncan as Blackie does. They practically played side by side and feckin deep too. Duncan also missed two Lappin runs in the first half.

Duncan or Black?
Seven players were crap , ONE was feckin crap.

Feedback PLEASE
As youse are all aware I am possibly one of the more positive posters post match. Now it could be that I was stone cold feckin sober at Midden but I rate that as one of the worst SPL Away days I have personally witnessed. The second half was on a par to the first half against Falkirk. We defended so deep in two rows of four that it was no wonder that we got penned in. Dargo was going scatty at times shouting at them to pull out. Midden played the ball like Falkirk and always seemed to have an extra man and they had plenty of width. In fairness we defended stoutly as ever and we may have even pinched it but gawd - please tell me what the positives were!! BROWN :015: :015: :015: Confidence +++ in the box BUT his kicking in the second half was APPALING. (even given the wind) TOKELY :015: :015: :015: :015: As imperious as ever but did I see him pull back on a couple of challenges?? DODS/MUNRO :015: :015: :015: :015: :015:/ :015: :015: :015: :015: :015: Sooperb. Feckin had to be. HASTINGS :015: :015: :015: Solid enuff but cannot go forward. Did feckin Canada ever feckin advance in the World Wars? BAZZA :015: :015: :015: The only one who wanted to go forward, down the wing and take players on. DUNCAN :015: Passable first half. Second half was simply TERRIBLE. RANKIN :015: :015: :015: Still not an SPL standard "playmaker". Sweet left foot but even his left foot ended up blindly welling it at times. Could have nipped in with a winner. MCBAIN :015: :015: Looked lost on the left. No attacking threat at all. BAYNE :015: :015: :015: Another great 110% effort but died a death in the second half. DARGO :015: :015: :015: :015: Do I feel sorry for him. Some of his off the ball running was excellent but nobody apart from Rankin saw it. :008: :008: CC went to shut up shop at half time and it went sadly wrong. We were under the cosh from the 46th minute and we were very LUCKY to walk away with a point. Why didnt we go with BAZZA-RANKIN-MCBAIN-HART from the off???? Why didnt Wyness not come on fer the last 20-30 minutes???? I would also have loved (again) to see Zander given a run. He has pace and the Midden defence looked very slow. Please tell me I am wrong and I promise never to go to a feckin game sober again. :015: :015:

Brewster back?
I am reliably informed that Brew will be heading to East End Park and will be bidding fer Dods, Proctor, Black, Brown and Dargo in the Winter window. :015: :015: :015: If I had posted this it would have been in the feckin Rumour Mill in feckin seconds.

Investment Confusion
I have contacted my old school pal, Mutton Jeff, and he has assured me that investment will be coming our way. :003:

WYNESS
Bayne is rightly in possession at the moment fer his 100% effort. He won nearly everything in the first half but lost most in the second - although some of the kickin from Brown, Duncan and even Rankin was deplorable. Putting on Wyness would have been a positive - yestaerday, especially the 2nd half, was as negative as you can get. :008: :008:

Duncan or Black?
Duncan had an ABSOLUTE feckin mare in the second half. His passing was poor fer most of the game but he either launched the feckin ball or mispassed it in the second half. Cannot understand why he wasnt pulled midway through the second half. If you are going to play withouth Black or Rankin ya simpl;y have to put McBain in the middle and Hart out wide. We simply had no width or pace yesterday.

NAIRN ROLE CALL
I have a friend who has two young children. He is arriving in Nairn at approx. 12 noon and wants to know how he can travel back and fore from Nairn Railway station with his family to and from the game - in respect of bus and train timetables. I have advised him to look at every forum to get these directions as it could go to feckin anywhere?

HUN RETROSPECT?
Is it just me? Was the Brechin beer interfered with? In the light of day - we rode our luck at times but after 20 minutes I just felt that the Huns were totally lacking in confidence and were never looking like scoring. I really did feel that we would sneak it when we weathered the 10-15 minute second half storm. I felt our defence was seldom stretched and our midfield were in control most of the time. We frustrated but- tactically - and on satisfaction level - that felt as good as the 3-1 Cellic win. Maybe this should go to Anything Goes? :016:
