  1. Stefan has gone to Rapid Bucharest but I understand that an ICT delegation are headed to Romania next week and the names on their wish list are Cristian Scutaru and Andrei Cristea.
  2. TTA consider their footballing future By Dave Moore Saturday 23rd June 2007 owners "seriously disillusioned" with Porter saga TTA (The Three Amigos) are considering their future in football after another Chris Porter transfer revelation makes the rounds. Porter's agent, rumoured to be a thorn in every deal associated with Porter, has informed the club that his client has now received an offer from a Scottish team. A loophole in compensation laws considers that Scotland counts as a cross border transfer and as such would leave Athletic peniless. The club were looking at a minimum of £700,000 from any potential transfer if Porter was to move to an English team. The speculation could put a hold on all incoming transfer deals and the club are asking Porter to show some loyalty and do the right thing. The two Simons (Blitz and Corney) confess that they are "seriously disillusioned" with the events and Mr. Corney went on to say, "There is nothing to stop Chris going to a different league, playing for one season and then being sold back for a fee which should morally be ours. We signed Chris as a young player and improved his game over the last two years, and we feel we're owed some loyalty. It would change all our plans for next season if there was no money coming in, and frankly just the threat he might do it is sickening enough. Next season was the time we wanted to make inroads into our debt as we can't keep on losing large amounts of money. We offered Chris a very good contract and we still want him to stay, but we knew, or thought we did, that if he went we'd have money to spend on new players. If that isn't the case, then what happens next? We've no choice but to stop all signings until we know whether our best asset is leaving for nothing." The Porter situation not only leaves the club owners disillusioned but also the lifeblood of the club - the fans. The vast majority of the Latics following have great respect and admiration for TTA, for without them there might be no club today. They have always been transparent in their dealings but it would cast a huge cloud over Boundary Park if they were to desert the club at this crucial stage of their development. Recent dealing with the likes of Chris Moore and Iain Dowie has left the Oldham public suspicious of big-time Johnnies who lie and cheat just to line their own pockets.
  3. My revelations were that we were showing interest in signing them - and I have been spot on so far, despite remonstrations from some areas. McPake and Webb are players fer the future and more squad additions - which we need. Having seen Porter play I hope he does come to Sneck - the comparability to Dargo is clear.
  4. cant wait fer arabella weird tuff gig ghostfest edinburgh on tuesday night between a bunch of feckinparabnormals.
  5. I am very reliably informed that CC has asked the Board to consider allowing him to move into a coaching position and taking on a new manager. CC has always been a reluctant jobholder and he initially agreed on a more "caretaker" basis. I understand that the Board are continuing to lobby CC to remain as he is but it would appear to be becoming a losing battle.
  6. I'll be your horse :023: The thought of a whip and a rub down are driving me :crazy07:
  7. Hoolahan is an absolute crowd favourite at Blackpool. He will be staying at the seaside.
  8. Many fans criticised CC for his sheer reluctance to accept blame and trying to apportion it to others - particularly the fans. He made some real bad tactical mistakes last season - that can be forgiven but not repeated. Rankin will be our player of the season 2007-2008. The lad oozes class potential - a year of apprenticeship and building up his stature in pre season - I cant wait.
  9. I am reliably informed that these two names have been added to McPake, Elliott, Webb and John Kennedy (loan) in our summer shopping list. I am rarely wrong although I am concerned that Colin Hendry may attract them - I knew the teacup was rite when it declared that old Braveheart was coming home. :003:
  10. The Arabs man was Willow Flood - Porter IS the ICT target - his parents live 2 doors from ma mother-in-law in Wigun and they have sought my advice. As fer the defender - experienced SPL yes but not currently attached to an SPL club. :004: One who, IMHO, was above Par last season.
  11. ICT are in talks with County about Sean Webb - This is getting a bit laborious aint it !!
  12. Hagi and Popescu were seen in the Nip Inn last nite - apparently it is the closest thing we have to a Rumanian style bar.
  13. The two most important players for us next season will be the loan defender from Cellic and Elliott up front.
  14. TO WIN THE SPL: Celtic 4/6 Rangers 11/10 Hearts 25/1 Aberdeen 50/1 Hibernian 150/1 Kilmarnock 350/1 Dundee Utd. 1000/1 Gretna 1000/1 Inverness C.T. 2000/1 Motherwell 2000/1 Falkirk 2500/1 St Mirren 5000/1 :017: :017:
  15. Fer fecks sake - Dargo is in a bidding "war", via his feckin agent fer weeks - Bristol City and Bournemouth (with Sherringham ) head the list. If he goe south then his missus is a feckin WAG and he is a ******. The name of Callum Elliot is at the bottom of ma feckin teacup again this morning.
  16. It would be very difficult for me to attend and I think my presence may not be a wholly positive move. For some reason I have been put a bit in centre stage. There were others at the Pars game who were treated far worse than I was. As I said before I suspect that the Pars affair will get an apology but little more - if there is a formal apportion of blame that may have to suffice. To me the issue is the Singing Section and some sort of structured action plan to take it forward. That may need another initial planning meeting with a small focussed group. Mr Savage is evidently a wise entrepreneur with a wealth of experience. He will simply have to take a corporate stance on the Pars game. I am usually good at sussing people out so I would be disappointed if he did not proffer an apology for the Pars came and I EXPECT him to openly back the Singing Section proposal but he will point out that it simply is not down to him and ICT. But if he moves it on to another level then that is the only RESULT I am after. And I think it will happen. :003:
  17. Mr Savage has indeed been in touch but I did state to him that I would hold his communications in confidence. I have found him to be a very professional yet open person. He has expressed an interest in my responses and he does appear to be very supportive - So far he has gained my respect but the proof, as they say, is in the pudding. I am going to try my damndest to be there but I am extremely busy at work at the moment. As far as I am aware Mr Smith may still be on his hols and his presence at the meeting may well be inflammatory and counter productive. His absence may well be a business decision - which is understandable. Personally I do not expect that any report on the Pars game will come out with anything conclusive - it will undoubtedly end up as one word against the other and counter argument against counter argument. I feel that the support in general deserves an apology and the people behind the scenes who worked hard to try and ensure that the day was a success. The members of the Trust are in a difficult position but, IMHO, they have pursued this matter and the promptness of the meeting says volumes - for Mr Savage and the Trust. I do expect a personal apology - and if it attaches any blame, which I doubt, I will not hold that information in confidence. If this serves to strengthen the argument for a Singing Section then the hassle was more than worth it - It doesnt stop here. :023:
