  1. I can only hope that one day we have the tactical prowess to feign a long throw, play it short and get someone to provide a cross ball into the six yard area. Or is that asking fer too much? :017:
  2. It often amuses me as to the stick that Rosscoe and Black get - it is because they are often so feckin blatant and obvious. Rosscoe's first crack at Beasley was simply to let him feckin know in an intimidatory fashion - the trip was a feckin classic tho - out of sight of every ****, apart from the cameras, and brilliantly executed and disguised. Darren Dods was a feckin master of it. Some of his off the ball obstructions, pushes and trips were feckin class. But he rarely got caught and rarely looked guilty and that is the art. Reckon Dodsy would have been feckin proud of Rosscoe.
  3. They have enquired about Webb in pre season. I would have said that was a good shout but Hastings at centre back has not been too successful in the past. I would think about giving Wyness and McAllister another chance.
  4. I propose that we all stand in unison fer 10 minutes and continually chant "Stand Up fer the Caley Jags". :001:
  5. Cannot believe the comment that it had nothing to do with tactics - Walter Smith totally outsmarted CC, who fell into the trap hook line and feckin sinker.
  6. Picture will be clearer after the Well and Midden matches SP- defence was the main worry - Caff looked out of sorts, Granty was all over the place trying to assume control - It looked as if the tactics were fer Granty to go foer everything and let Caff sweep - but that is nigh on impossible to do when you are holding a high defensive line. Most times the ball fell to Caff he was under pressure and had to welly it but when he had times he appeared to need an age and was almost blocked a few times. Rosscoe was also holding the high line as well and against a speed machine like Beesley that is football suicide. Dods used to cover Rosscoe going forward last year but that did not happen. Plus Walter Smith had obviously sussed out our right sided weakness right from the off. That was also because Bazza was in right midfield and is hardly the best to provide extra defensive cover. Hastings only looked dodgy when Novo arrived on the scene but at least he had Rankin as back up. The other problem was Barry Ferguson and again that was good tactics from Smith. He played Ferguson in a more forward role and McBain could not contain him. Duncan may have been the better option as he would have filled the gap naturally. The main debacle was playing Rory as the target man and Wyness slightly deeper. That in effect rendered us totally sterile up front. It affected the whole game as we oftenplayed all right up to the last third and then totally ran out of ideas. I cannot recall one instance where any of our players ran at their defence and tried to pull a cross back. It became desperate direct route stuff. As I have said on another thread we will be a different proposition away from home when we will be hitting peeple on the break. As fer Bamba I am reliably informed that we have made an offer which was deemed not enuff. If there eve was a time to sink into the profits it is now. TWO defenders and a cover goalie (at least on stand by) is required. Sounds ominous but we played tactically straight into Rangers hands and by the time CC had sussed it out we were 2-0 down.
  7. I NOW FEEL REFRESHED AND STRESS FREE :023:
  8. So where is the action on Friday 24th ??
  9. Thank feck we dont play those in bred feckin peg selling caravan dwelling feckin tinks any more.
  10. I'll be feckin there dude - with the Young Ones :022: singing Sloop John B. Bring it on and probably Take me out.
  11. Rangers facing probe over chants Rangers are expected to be reported to the Scottish Premier League because of songs heard coming from their support during Saturday's game in Inverness. They have already been sanctioned twice by Uefa after chants during European games against Villarreal and Osasuna were deemed offensive. It is understood events at Caledonian Stadium will be mentioned in SPL delegate Alan ****'s report. That is expected at the league's offices on Tuesday. Rangers could face a fine or have points docked but are more likely to escape with a warning this time. We will be looking into the circumstances surrounding today's game Rangers statement The club have had campaigns to eradicate sectarianism within their support. And a statement from Rangers following the 3-0 victory in Inverness said: "The club is wholly committed to continuing its efforts to eradicate inappropriate behaviour. The only way we will rid ourselves of this is for the club to refuse away tickets "We will be looking into the circumstances surrounding today's game." The Ibrox club find themselves under the spotlight again nine days after launching the 'Follow With Pride' campaign, which is aimed at cleaning up the club's image by ending sectarian and other abusive chanting.
  12. From Today's Herald. :rotflmao: Beasley against Ross Tokely was an antelope against a rhino, and the American was trampled so often he looked a little spooked and rushed his chances on those occasions when he did break clear on goal.
  13. I have got a funny feeling that our style of play will get us far more points away from home again this season - especially if we shore up the defence. We have come far too predictable at home but with some of the new pace - Deano and Cowie - and the hopeful appearance of Niculae - I can see us being a real threat on the break.
  14. Thought I'd let you all know that I have received a "pathetic" response from Mike Smith which did not answer any of my comments. Not even the hint of a "sorry". :008:
  15. Wow - Grumpy is back. :sillywave: They did have options. Black and Rankin and Wilson often made themselves available for a short pass but the "lump" was the preferred option - and not always under pressure. Agree with the most of the rest though :crazy07: We rarely played the ball wide - we rarely ran at them or took them on - our tackling wasnt too bad. It may not be a bad thing and I expect a backlash next week. :023:
  16. I was really trying to hold back but I've got the Sunday morning blues. I am not just pointing the finger at CC but some of the club in general: Why did we get it so tactically wrong yesterday ? Some of the tactics were clearly seen to be ludicrous ? CC had a pop at the players committment - Hope he feckin bollocked them or should he have been geeing them up in the first instance. Projection again. CC had a go at the long ball - that means that it wasnt tactical. Caff, Munro and Hastings employed the tactic throughout. Black must have been going mental at the times he made room fer an easy ball. It must have been feckin obvious that Niculae would need a permit - could that not have been sorted out quicker. All constructive criticism which I hope will be learned by next week or the coming weeks. But we need to get it sorted out now. I also wish that someone would clearly ask CC what his opening tactics were. We clearly need goalkeeper and defensive cover. Ist it that we have not been able to attract the right people or is it another case of giving the present players a vote of confidence ? Why bother with a Singin Section if you are going to OVER "police" it ?
  17. FRASER TOKELY CAFF MUNRO HASTINGS DUNCAN HART/COWIE BLACK RANKIN BAYNE NICULAE/McDONALD Dont think wholesale changes ever work. Unless we get a signing then the back four have to be perservered with and strengthened by Duncan's presence. Rosscoe needs a "worker" in front of him. The forwards need some feeding and three more cultured midfielders may well be the answer.
  18. LOYAL ARMY :001: But I have just noticed that if you take away the Inverness and the Thistle bits and shorten the Caledonian you could have the "CALEY". :001:
  19. Fer fecks sake. The lad is only 20 and dont ferget it is TWO managers who have thrown the lad in at the deep end and he has been picked fer an Under 20 National squad. Barry Robson was slagged off fer being too scrawny etc. He is not SPL standard but has a lot of potential. He is one that we should really be holding on to fer a couple of years and a loan to a second or third division outfit may well enhance his confidence. That will probably now happen as he will NOT progress at ICT given the atmosphere on the terraces. But there again - is he not been made a scapegoat fer yesterday - who picked him and chose the tactics.
  20. I cannot believe that this post has not been erased. CaleyD may well be a tube but :rotflmao:
  21. What the Singing Section needs is some loud mouthed drunken old **** who doesnt give a feck and sings simply fer the sake of it.
  22. Dont worry - Mike Smith will sort it out. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
  23. I once hit big Willie on top of his head with a chewed up pie from the shack at Kingsmills. The big man was always good fer the craic. PIP :011:
