  1. Are we going part-time perhaps ? If there is going to be an announcement from the club then get on with it so all the speculation can be brought to an end.
  2. We could worse than go after Paul Hartley. His treatment by Dundee was pretty shabby but you can't expect any better in the ruthless world of football in Dundee.
  3. MM may not set the pulse racing but he's a decent coach and well worthy of consideration as Director of Football.
  4. This aspect of the club is really needing a revamp. We'll need every penny we can lay our hands on next season and this is an important revenue source.
  5. Graham's a good guy and I think he'll be an asset to the board.
  6. I was looking at the match programme from yesterday and to my eyes there seem to be an awful lot of people taking a salary out of the club which is now going to be a Championship club. Some serious cutbacks will almost certainly be required if we're to keep our heads above water.
  7. What's the position of Maurice Malpas ? Would he like a shot at managing the club ? Is he off down the road ?
  8. Foran has a lot to learn and in any form of management an early lesson is to praise in public and to chastise in private.
  9. Excellent result. Lifted the spirits after last week at Tynecastle. The only way is up !
  10. My first game for a very long time and what a very disappointing result to say the least. We were quite unlucky with some of the attacks but the squad definitely needs to be strengthened - defence, midfield and up front. Two goals from Don Cowie just rubbed salt in the wound. The board really need to give Richie some funds to get out into the market and seek some new blood.
  11. Tremendous day for ICT or yet another tremendous day. Congratulations to all.
  12. One swallow doesn't make a summer. Far too early to be talking about a collapse. I'm sure we'll bounce back next week in Perth.
  13. Manager of the Month seems to be the kiss of death.
  14. Absolutely fantastic performance - ICT heroes all.
  15. The Other Record Shop - that brings back memories. Wasn't there a topic on here about old record shops of sneck ? There were quite a few over the years.
  16. Just an excuse for the PC brigade to go just a bit over the top, particularly 5live and David Miliband. Certainly will be interesting to see how Sunderland perform over the next few games given all this extra off-field attention.
  17. Ah, what memories of the halcyon days of 1990s Scottish football. Paolo di Canio (new manager of Sunderland FC) comes from that era too.
  18. Decent result for us and to have 50 points in the SPL and to be in the top six are two notable achievements.
  19. Strachan needs to have a major rethink after Friday's debacle.
  20. Evelix was on Drummond Road on the town side of the road down from the Drummond School. It had a quite fantastic view over the town and a beautifully kept garden. Gilbert Ross had a Rover 3.5 litre car and the numberplate ST 444. What would they be worth today ?
  21. We give away far too many late goals. Are they forgetting that games last 90+ minutes ? Onwards to Motherwell.
  22. I can add:- Astrid - The Raigmore (2001) Biffy Clyro - Blue (2002) Idlewild - Blue (2002)
  23. Really great news for the club and all credit to Sir Terence for not making money his number one object in the game but put loyalty first. It's a pity that many others in the game couldn't follow his example.
  24. Renzo Serafini - definitely the Locarno at 31 Academy Street. Dorandos had a confectioners and tobacconists shop at 36 Church Street (down from Fraser's Auction Rooms). Was the man who owned this shop related to Henry who ran Dorando's Cafe at 89 Academy Street ?
