  1. Perhaps he's hoping the Dunfermline job will become available :tic01:
  2. If Brewster already has the job why even bother with a shortlist? :024: It serves no purpose. Surely it's just waisting time especially with the the transfer window deadline looming? Why bother having a meeting tonight to gauge the fans opinions if it's a done deal?
  3. Does that make Brewster the cheap, unambitious option? :016:
  4. When did he do this? I remember he joined in November (?) 2004 and left in January 2006. So he never actually managed us for a full season. Points from 2004/2005 would have been contributed by Robertson as well as the caretakers managers just as points from 2005/2006 were! CC is the only manager thus far to have been in charge for a full season
  5. Mate at work just told me he's left Rangers and gone on loan for the rest of the season. Anyone else hear this?? He'll be sadly missed
  6. Scarily Malpas record isn't as bad as I thought Games Won Drawn Lost Win% 44 14 8 22 31.82 Better than Brewsters at United anyway :023:
  7. I hope there are people going who are apposed to us going doing the ex-manager route? I'd go and have my say myself but unfortunately I'm about as much good at public speaking as rehab has been for Pete Doherty :029:
  8. I don't think many of us really expect Warnock to join us but that doesn't stop us wishing/hoping. The alternative scenario is far too depressing :007:
  9. The voting is neck & neck so far :tic01:
  10. Never heard of him!! I have him ahead of Malpas, Robertson & Brewster in my list though :015:
  11. If the P&J article is to be believed then... Robertson met with the Derry City board of directors yesterday to discuss his future and he is thought to be keen to return to the Highlands where he has a house. He's not going to be very popular with them if he's wanting out after 6 weeks :023: Brewster stressed that he was still under contract at Aberdeen and did not want to comment on the manager's job. Why is it all over the BBC website that he's desperate to return??
  12. From P&J Online...... BENNETT TALKS WITH EX-MANAGERS 08:50 - 22 August 2007 Caley Thistle director of football Graeme Bennett has already made contact with former managers Craig Brewster and John Robertson but no official moves to appoint Charlie Christie's successor will be made until today. The SPL club will formally start the search for a new manager at a board meeting this morning following chairman Alan Savage's return from a business trip in Kazakhstan last night. Bennett hopes an appointment can be made this week. He said: "We're aware that we have to get our skates on. We haven't set a specific deadline but we'd like to have someone in place by the weekend." Former Caley Jags managers Brewster and Robertson along with Celtic defender Steven Pressley and former Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock are all in the running to succeed Christie, who resigned on Sunday due to the pressure of the job. Bennett said the club has yet to draw up a shortlist for the post. He said: "Although I am friendly with Brewster and Robertson, I have only been in communication with them by text, in which they said they were sorry about Charlie's departure. "We have not talked to anyone about the job yet, although we are not ruling anyone out. It really depends on what comes out of today's board meeting, which we plan to use as a sounding board for the directors to air their views." Brewster stressed that he was still under contract at Aberdeen and did not want to comment on the manager's job. Robertson met with the Derry City board of directors yesterday to discuss his future and he is thought to be keen to return to the Highlands where he has a house. Former Blades boss Warnock has indicated he would be interested in the post, while Celtic are keen to offload former Hearts captain Pressley, who has been offered to other SPL clubs.
  13. Well done. I'm afraid I've never heard of you but I'm looking forward to hearing more about you in the future :clapping03:
  14. Firstly I think that of the current shortlist he could well be the players choice. I know the players didn't like Malky's training methods, but whoever put the training in place certainly improved fitness levels. The players had to attend more gym sessions under Brewster and I don't think they were very keen at the time. I think we can all see that improved fitness is required and I believe that Brew would sort that. I hope that if he is appointed he would work with Parkie and then I think we would see a good balance. The players do have a lot of respect for Parkie. I think the different backgrounds of Brew and Parkie would work, not sure if that would be the plan though. Sounds like we need to appoint a fitness coach rather than Brewster as a manager. OK he may get the team fitter (and they should already be fit as it is, they are professional footballers!!) but does that offset his lack of tactical skills? Not sure what to make of the article in the P&J online this morning... LINK
  15. This was posted on BBC webiste on August 8th about Warnock Neil Warnock has given himself until Christmas to find a job that will tempt him back into football. Warnock quit as Sheffield United boss after their relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season. He told BBC Five Live: "I didn't want to rush into the first job that came along. I've had chats with a couple of clubs and it didn't feel right. "If I don't get the right job offer before Christmas, I'll go back to Cornwall and do my media work." P.S Who voted for Malpas?
  16. Yip I heard it as well. They were lucky they manged to fit us in with 90 seconds of the show to go. Chick had to talk Gordon Smith for ages about nothing in particular :rolleyes02: You almost got the impression that they were thinking there was no way Warnock would even consider us :008: The BBC have been saying all day that Brewster is the favourite? Who with? The BBC? Brewster? The Club? The Bookies? It's certainly not the fans :023:
  17. Perhaps anyone attending the meeting tomorrow night could point out that Warnock is the big favourite amongst the fans to be the next manager :021:
  18. Parkie could stay.... Warnock's last assistant manager was Stuart MaCall who is now manager of Bardford City (?) plus he'd need someone with 'local' knowledge
  19. Motherwell were scared off Coyle after St Johnstone quoted a 6 figure compensation package. He has subsequently signed a contract extension so he'd cost us a fair whack
  20. The only thing Brew has over Warnock is that we might be able to squeeze a few more games out of him as a player but that's about it. Pressley would be 'interesting' and would be the likeliest candidate if we were picking our manager by previous criteria. I don't think ANYONE wants Malpas. If IHE is right of course there's no point in anybody going to that meeting tomorrow night :rolleyes02:
  21. I did toy with the idea of including other names linked to the job but there were so many I just went for the 2 that seem to have been mentioned the most.
  22. Just a quick straw poll to see who comes out on top between the 2 most mentioned candidates so far
  23. From BBC Website.... Former Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock has emerged as a candidate to be Charlie Christie's successor at Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Christie resigned on Monday citing the pressures of the job with his side bottom of the Scottish Premier League. And director of football Graeme Bennett told the Daily Express: "There have been a lot of names thrown at us. "One of them is very interesting. It is Neil Warnock, but as yet we haven't spoken to him." Warnock quit the Blades following their relegation from the Premiership in England last season. And the 58-year-old said: "I have often talked about managing in Scotland. "We have family up there and my wife has already said she would like to live in Scotland at some point. "I'm dying to get back into the game and if Inverness or anybody else want to talk to me then I would be more than delighted to do so. "I have not always been money-motivated. For me, it is more about the size of the challenge and working for people who have faith in me."
  24. Warnock certainly has bags of experience as well as a national profile and I'd imagine an extensive network of contacts
  25. Oh well, hardly a surprise, the old manager is hardly out the door and Smee is already switching his dislike to the new one. I'm scared I'll succumb to the dark side as well if either Brew or Robbo return :007:
