  1. Well, thats the star of the team on his way. The news of Cowie must be just around the corner. A midfield of Imrie , Duncan, McBain, Vigurs and Sutherland. Hope they can rise to the occassion. Its step up time!
  2. Gary McAllister - 11 months - 10 wins out of 21, 5 consecutive defeats - sacked Paul Ince - 6 months - 3 wins in 17 games - sacked Juande Ramos - 08/09 season - 8 games 2 pts - sacked Sam Allardyce - 24 games (Newc) 8 wins - sacked Craig Brewster 08/09 5 wins in 19 games - Sitting pretty
  3. Looks like, from the previous excellent posts, that the current squad has three automatic names on the team sheet, Esson, Tokely and Munro, and without Black and Cowie there are no others. Duncan, Rooney, McBain, Hastings, Proctor and McGuire are regarded as decent. Imrie, Wood, Vigurs, Duff have potential. Gillespie, Sutherland, Barrowman, McAllister have yet to prove worth for a variety of reasons. Only three players are regarded as indispensible. Thats not instilling anyone with confidence, especially as they are not creative players, even if, as Scotty says, you add Duncan as the unsung heroes. In the past we have had players such as Brown, Niculae, Robson, Wilson, Mann, Rankin, Dods, Bayne, Dargo, Wyness who were responsible for our decent form. Basically, the squad has been decimated.
  4. I welcome the communication, and acknowledgement that there is a problem. I would hope that the board are laying down the groundwork here of dismissal. That money needs to be kept to attract a new manager to the club not for the current manager. The worst situation we could be in would be to sack Brewster after the transfer window, having spent all our money on his choice of players, and leaving the replacement manager with no cash and a poor squad. Its a cliche, but its now or never gentlemen of the board
  5. Can only listen on the radio as not on the same continent, hope i can still offer my opinion, right or wrong, from time to time? It does seem, from various sources, that luck deserted the team.... but didnt score and conceded three, thats not solely down to luck or the lack of it, in my opinion...
  6. He is the Coventry academy manager, newly appointed, doubt he would leave them so quickly but you never know.
  7. Fun Fan 1 - welcome, and a good first post imo, (dinnae listen to the troll), anyway, its the preverbial "...til we are blue in the face" the board arent going to listen, unless its on their TVs, which may be the case after the other debacle. Time after time ICT are putting their foot in it, infact, i think our club now has the worst relationship of any SPL club with its fans.... Pro Brewster is a valiant stance, and to use Star Wars, those who support him add balance to the force, but thats all.
  8. The standard of Japanese football is really good, pacey, lots of skill, but not too physical, especially in the air, not many goals scored by headers and almost no goalmouth melees, thats why they conceded 5 but overall, good standard over here. Man Utd to shade it but not by much. Tournament is a joke though, to be honest, imo
  9. Ha ha Brewster is a philosopher too eh? What next? "The silent grasshopper gets home first" or "I cannae manage a cup of tea" It is going to be a humdinger at Fir Park, our away record vs Motherwell. Remember Kilmarnock....wasnt on the cards either.... I think he will play 442, Wood and Rooney
  10. ...and how does this have anything to do with ICT???
  11. Im sure you, the board, have decided on a plan already. "If the team is at the bottom of the league and is 4 or more points adrift, we will have to call an EGM." Its not good enough. Clearly the manager has lost the support of the players and the fans. Of this there is no doubt. In a couple of weeks you will reluctantly accept two offers for Cowie and Black as they have refused to sign a contract. Should you act now, results will change, you may be able to hold on to the biggest assets the team has, and you will be able to appease the fans (and no, not a minority...the majority if not unanimously, something you seem to not grasp or ignore) Not only is Brewster dragging this club down, but he is also dragging you, the board, down too. If the club loses Cowie and Black and is relegated, or even barely survive, i would be surprised if anyone from the Director of Football up to you, Fraser, will be tolerated as you will be targeted as just as complicit as the manager. Act now to save your own positions. (Edited for typo)
  12. I agree Davey. You dont spend 25 quid at a leisure event and expect to be filmed by police. This was obviously something that ICT allowed, and i dont think it is fair to one minute be happily munching your pie with tomato sauce over your face and slurping your Bovril and the next realise its on camera, how uncomfortable are ICT going to make the whole stadium experience be??
  13. 5th Stand - I certainly wouldnt have put them into an overcrowded stand. The Taylor report, whether you agree with it or not, is there for a reason. If something had happened where a child had been knocked over and broke all their teeth what do you think would happen? The flipside which i think you are talking about is that it would do more harm than good to turn them away. Not so, the safety of those inside the stadium is paramount and that was jeopordized yesterday. Whatever happens outside the stadium is each individuals responsibility, but once inside it is a collective. How are fans going to follow orders to not stand in the steps or indeed at their seat when this kind of action is being tolerated.
  14. My instincts here tell me it will be used as a training video for new recruits to the Northern Constabularly. Giving them a chance to see some animated behaviour and then ask the raw recruits "How would you handle this situation" etc. Still, not the nicest thing to be subjected to. Did they film the severe overcrowding in the South stand too?
  15. Robbo wasnt a failure though. He has been so unlucky, at Hearts and Derry, they had a change of executives and they wanted their own man. At Ross County he did the honourable thing, and much the same as the other two. No stain on his managerial record as far as I can see
  16. Unless ICT are stranded at the bottom no action will be taken. As it stands, 5 teams are in the same position, so nothing will happen. If Brewster is given a new contract then serious serious questions have to be asked of the board.
  17. Best chance of the game with Cowie, 442. Who will Brewster blame for this debacle? Santa?
  18. And this is the best XI...could you imagine if we had any injuries, which will come sooner or later, what then? Rooney on, 4-4-2, 3-2 to ICT, Rooney Hatrick
  19. Ach. How many defeats in a row will that be? 6? How long will the board turn a blind eye?
  20. John Robertson on "open all mics" has been stressing how over capacity the dons stand is, saying that ICT would have to put some fans in another stand, and that a lot of fans were watching the game from standing in the steps as there were no seats. Hardly a good thing to do and i doubt the SPL will be happy with that. What are they doing at the ticket office, police/stewarding
  21. Overcrowding in the Dons stand, people standing in the steps, there were rumours that it was over sold...not very wise to do this, seems bit strange. Wood had a late chance, not a rout so far so hope yet
  22. Now thats a chant for the Dons game...
  23. Its a tough one, on one hand they want to support the team on the other hsnd they want to express their anger, so its striking a balance. half time is best to air grievances
  24. A micro beer. Perhaps inspired by how Brewster is taking our team to the dogs
  25. Kirishima replied to tm4tj's topic in General Football
Three wins in 17 games? Hire that man!!!! I lost all respect for Paul Ince after his comments "boys against men" about Celtic losing to Man Utd 3-0 at Old Trafford. From what lofty position was he to have a go? Celtic and Man U.....hardly a surprising result. Arrogant and paranoid, "people are out to get ex-Man U players now in management"......what a load of guff he spoke.
