  1. To anybody interested in this..... Dumbarton Football Club Limited The YOUR Radio 103FM Stadium Castle Road DUMBARTON G82 1JJ
  2. I've just returned to Inverness after 10 days "away". I was mystified why I couldn't find any mention of our club's game on a blank Saturday, following our failure to beat Dundee and consequently progress into the next round of the Scottish Cup. I felt sure we would have fixed up a game to make sure we don't accumulate our normal pile-up of fixtures at the real business end of the season, when suspensions and injuries can take their toll. I had assumed that the club had spent a lot of money to ensure a few of our recent home games went ahead showed that as worthwhile aim. I tried unsuccessfully to research online why we did not fix up anything. All became clearer when I visited the Inverness library today and read the last edition (last Thursdays) of the Highland News. The back-page had it all - the head-line "Dunfermline Snubbed Over Irn-Bru Mess". It quoted our manager saying that the uncertainty over when our Irn-Bru Cup semi-final would be played left the club with no time to make arrangements to play a league fixture.. This is really unbelievable. We were knocked out of the Scottish Cup on Tuesday 30th January. That very evening, Dunfermline Athletic proposed to our club that we play our scheduled game against them on our Irn-Bru semi-final week-end on our blank date. As detailed on the Dunfermline Athletic web-site, Chairman Ross McArthur commented "as both ourselves and Inverness had a free Saturday on the 10th February, with both clubs being knocked out of the Scottish Cup, I have tried very hard since Tuesday evening to see if Inverness would re-schedule our fixture to that date. Inverness declined to do so. Therefore, we have agreed with our colleagues at Livingston that we will reschedule our outstanding fixture from 30 December, to next Saturday 10 February. I am extremely grateful to Livingston for fitting in the match at very short notice." I am surprised that this has not raised one single comment. If 11 days notice of a re-arranged game is not enough, then just how much time does our club need? We now face a Tuesday night journey to Dunfermline for the re-arranged game on 06 March. That's a pleasing thought for our Inverness supporters don't you think?

  4. Immortal Howden Ender - You posted the need to "Really need to get that on here"... Here's the link. You need to go to https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b09dxdf4/live-football-spfl-challenge-cup-inverness-caledonian-thistle-v-falkirk and fast forward to 01:00:40 for the beginning of the feature. Enjoy!
  5. Is this correct? Two players suspended for Saturday's home game v Aberdeen: From SCOTTISH FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION LIST OF SUSPENSIONS ISSUE NO.40: THURSDAY 23 APRIL 2015 JOSH MEEKINGS (INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE F.C ) 1 SPFL FIRST TEAM MATCH IMMEDIATE ROSS DRAPER (INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE F.C.) 2 SPFL FIRST TEAM MATCHES FROM 25/04/2015 See: http://www.scottishfa.co.uk/resources/documents/Disciplinary/CurrentSuspensions/Season2014/15/PlayerSuspensions/LOS40%20(23%20APR)%20CW.pdf
  6. Here is a very interesting and well-written article for anybody like myself wondering when the fixtures might be announced: http://splstats.wordpress.com/2014/03/23/post-split-fixtures-201314/
  7. "Terry Butcher looks set to finalise Hibernian deal this evening" www1.skysports.com/football/news/11781/9021577/terry-butcher-looks-set-to-finalise-hibernian-deal-this-evening
  8. Just a matter of information. There are quite a few posts on this site along the lines of the most recent I saw: "Not sure sitting with the Hibs Chairman yesterday was the best game of hardball, anyway hopefully sorted out on Monday" Terry was in fact sitting in the main stand amongst neutral observers with his wife Rita, and agent Jim McArthur...
  9. Sky have updated their live fixtures today, and all previously scheduled SPL games have now gone! http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12942,00.html
  10. Anybody planning the Inverness CT home game against Kilmarnock on March 17 had better think again. It's not happening! As Killie won their League Cup semi-final against Ayr, they will now be playing in the League Cup final, scheduled for Hampden on March 18.
  11. From reading posts here, it appears some people have made the assumption that the player has only been offered a contract until the end of the season. I don't know the facts, but I suspect that the player, who hardly speaks a word of English, would prefer to find out how comfortable he is playing and living in this country, before committing to a contract of some years. From his perspective, I would imagine he would also prefer playing in this country's top division! Now that Terry Butcher and Maurice Malpas have seen the player, there's no doubt they might be helping him make up his mind sooner rather than later!
  12. Sorry to disagree with the salary 'guestimates' above, but ?1200 per month is much less than Don will have been paid with Inverness CT this season. A BBC Radio5 report on wages in the Football League Championship 2 seasons ago were said to average out at ?100,000. In today's terms, with Sky Sports still contributing a large pot of money into the League, this "average" will have risen above that figure. If Don's agent knows his stuff, then with interest from the likes of Rangers on record, he should be able to negotiate even better terms than these!
  13. I've compared BBC's "Sportscene" with Setanta's "The Full SPL" programme over the last four weeks, and I'm certain that any criticism of the Beeb is misguided, as they always show EXACTLY the same highlights as Setanta....with no more coverage, and no less. I would say the fault in the poor coverage lies solely with Setanta's editing of the game. The BBC can only work with what they get I would guess. There's no way they can be identically as bad as the coverage which Setanta provide. (Remember that Setanta pay ?13.5 per season to cover the SPL) I would suggest that anybody with complaints, and I hope there might be quite a few, write, phone, or e-mail Setanta. There's obviously no way they'll make an exception for Inverness CT extra coverage, so maybe an extra 3 minutes coverage per SPL game might be acceptable. Setanta's reply will certainly refer to the millions of viewers who only want to see either of the Old Firm...
  14. "All information present and correct".....nearly, but not quite. It looks good...apart from Aberdeen match date change, posted a few days ago on official site. (Home fixture against Aberdeen will now take place on Sunday 21st October with a 2pm kick off)
