  1. 3-0, Rangers, Weiss with his second.
  2. Sounds like Randolph has made a couple of good saves.
  3. Well at least Odhiambo isn't starting.
  4. Morais is at Oldham just now and he would never come back. From what i have seen of Gil he will struggle to adapt and will probably be away soon, the fact that he wasn't even on the bench against Elgin, a match where he could have got some major game time tells its own story. What we lack that we haven't in previous squads is a depth of fairly reliable players, guys like Bayne, McCaffrey, Hart, Wilson as he got older, were never established regulars but if injury struck they could come in and do a decent job. I think we are depending too much on the younger lads at times, and i include the likes of Odhiambo and Gil in this as i think they are both 20. It must be difficult for them to make an impact especially when we aren't playing well.
  5. He certainly has a big task on his shoulders. Good luck to him.
  6. plenty people know someone who knows someone who spoke to someone ....................................................... believe it when I see it, my fear is there will be bigger clubs well aware of his situation You really want him at Hibs dont you.
  7. If you do get Rooney then you are getting yourself a very promising young striker indeed.
  8. Steven Watt was Charlie Christie's signing and if i recall, despite him being on board McGuire and Proctor were brought in as well after Brewster took over and Watt just diminished out of the squad, despite some good performances in the reserves he never got back in the team, even when we lost McGuire and Munro to injury towards the end of the season. MacDonald was too small and too slow for the Scottish game. Sadly i agree with Renegade about Wyness, but had he stayed injury free it could have been different. Joinville was a legend though, was gutted we never signed him
  9. You know what they say if something sounds too good to be true..... It's not as far fetched as it sounds. Nish has been a bit part player at Hibs for a while and he is in the same position as Rooney with his contract been up at the end of the season too. We made it clear this week by knocking back the Russians that we are not prepared to let Rooney go for pennies this window. If it is true then this is a deal that would suit all parties involved. Nish may not be the ideal choice but he could certainly do a job imo.
  10. I think it would be a very good deal if it turned out to be true, a bit short sighted on Rooney's part though.
  11. Good luck to him, suprised he has drifted to the 3rd division though.

    Cox Injured

Blessing in disguise, Cox has been woeful since the Midden game.
  13. To some extent i agree with you SMEE but i think from what we have he is defnitely a better player than Odhiambo and has probably been due alot more game time than he has been given. Odhiambo has under performed for too long and should have been dropped ages ago.
  14. Well at least things seem to be a bit more positive on getting new players in now. Hope Sanchez gets the nod on Saturday as well.
  15. Wow! It's great to see the club actually knock back the offer and have a realistic valuation for him.
  16. It is a bit strange that there has been 2 bogus bids by the same club reported.
  17. Agree with that, it it weren't for Golly shoring up the defense last season we wouldn't have got promoted. got to disagree with this... yes in the first division Golly was good but if you look again at the title of this thread its about the SPL, and i dont think i will ever foget seeing golly chuck the captains armband...and just how many appearances has he made in the SPL as the thread is about SPL nothing else. I disagree. Golly was fantastic in his first season in the SPL. Unfortunately he sustained that bad hamstring injury the year after and he just wasnt the same when he returned, and he was getting older, simple. A serious injury was what brought Juanjo's time here to the end.. Richard Hastings did a good job after he established himself in the team but when Golly was at his best, even in the SPL he was great.
  18. It was bound too happen sooner or later, if he is away then good luck to him. He has been a fabulous player for us and will be sorely missed. Leigh Griffiths anyone?
  19. Just got to sit back and see what happens i guess.
  20. So we weren't a good enough club for him yet Airdrie were. Oh well, see how he does at part time level. He may work his way up.
  21. Esson Duff, Tokely, Munro, Shinnie Duncan, Foran Ross, Sanchez, Sutherland Rooney Subs: Tuffey, Innes, Golabek, Cox, McBain, Odhiambo, Blumenshtein.
  22. Phil McGuire i think can get added to that list as well, possibly the worst centre half we have ever had. Morgan was a decent player when he played, he just struggled to stay fit unfortunately.
  23. The introduction of Sanchez and Sutherland was what won this game for us. It was the same old problems throughout the game, silly, careless errors getting made and struggling to make anything happen in the final third. Odhiambo , im sorry but this boy shows no urgency or desire to get onto the ball at times, he really was liability and it was only when he came off that things started to change and they really did. Elgin keeper, Donnelly. He made some excellent saves, best one was a crisp drive from Shane that was heading into the bottam far corner and he just got his tips too it. But he had no chance with Sanchez, lethal volley from the edge of the box. And then he played the perfect flick on to Rooney, to finish them off. Elgin deserve credit. They played well and tryed to exploit our slow, ageing defence and Tuffey was called into action once or twice and they had a great support as well.
