Is Butcher the Man for the Job?
Surely being able to "control and influence" are the basic requirements for any manager?

Post Split Fixtures - Out Now
Whilst I appreciate we are dealing with the SPL and anything is possible, I found this article on the possible permutations for post split fixtures. http://splstats.wordpress.com/2012/04/01/post-split-fixtures/

Away Day Travel - StJohnstone
The Travel Club bus will be heading straight to the Stadium as we have been invited to use the Muirton Suite (open from 12:30). Hot food will be available for sale for those who want a bit of lunch before the game. Just let me know before Thursday so I can confirm numbers to St Johnstone.

SPL Voting rules
Seems to be a strong sense among "The Ten" that Rangers are all but in a position whereby they will have to go into liquidation. If that happens then Rangers would no longer be a member of the SPL and the OF lose their stranglehold in regards to the voting situation, leaving the path open for it to be changed to a more democratic system. Rangers will have no European football next season as they missed the 31st March deadline for exiting administration...so there's little to be gained other than continuity of history from them pursuing an exit via CVA.

Is Butcher the Man for the Job?
The most disappointing thing this season is that I know we have players who are capable of much better. Last week against Aberdeen we were a dream to watch in the first 45 minutes and then showed real guts after going down to 10 men to hold on for the win. To then watch the exact same players come out and play like a bunch of lads picked up at the local park the day before is a bit gaoling....and that has been the story of our season. Yes, we've had more than our fair share of injuries and dubious cards/suspensions...but that doesn't, on its own, explain the flip-flopping performances. You can understand one or two players having the odd off day, but for us it seems to be everyone or nobody who's up for it come game time. We can argue the reasons for that around and around all day long. It's easy to sit and look at the effect, we all do it. Can we honestly put our finger one thing and say "that is the cause"? I don't think we can. Yeah we've got things wrong with our tactics here and there, but we've also had more than our fair share of misfortune with injuries etc. I was speaking to a few guys who support other teams around the country yesterday (was at a meeting of Trusts) and some of them were surprised that we hadn't been cut adrift at the bottom and were praising Butcher for holding it together and doing what he have done under the circumstances. So the picture from the outside looking in is very much different than the one we may have from being so close to things. I've said it before....Butchers biggest mistake this season was all the talk of a Top 6. It created an inflated expectation among the fans and now, having failed to deliver and regardless of the reasons, we're seeing a bit of a backlash on that. I personally saw/see nothing wrong in his previous approach to questions on the league table where focus was always on catching the team ahead...wherever that was in the table...and I'd be happy for us to go back to taking that approach again in future.

ICT -V- St Johnstone
We have plenty of grafters in the squad and they are creating chances....what we miss is someone who is a bit more clinical in front of goal. We had that, IMO, with Andrew Shinnie who was just starting to find his place in the setup when he got crocked. Gnakpa....as much as he pissed me off with his (non) performance a couple of weeks ago could well be that kind of player, just don't know if we can afford the luxury of having a player who won't contribute in other areas of the park. I would love for us to take the decision that our season is safe and just spend the run in going hell for leather at teams.

Oh gawd.....not sure I can handle weeks and weeks of "let's spend the £250,000 on signing this, that or the next person".

Remember Giovanni De Stefano?
Just wish he would hurry up and complete this new investment he's been dragging out for months!!!

Half price entry to see a half assed performance...and it would seem only half the ball boys!!! Seriously, how much time was wasted waiting for someone to retrieve the ball tonight? We were complaining about St Johnstone wasting time towards the end, but the truth of the matter is, all they had to do (and were doing when they realised) was to stick the ball out of play at the Main Stand side corners as it took forever and a day to collect it and get it back into play.... embarrassing. Agree with much of what has been said about our own performance, but totally disagree with the suggestions that St Johnstone were any better. For all the talk of Sandaza and Sheridan, they did very little to trouble us and I would say we had more shots (on and off target) than St Johnstone. The only thing that separated us tonight was the totally naive, stupid and utterly pointless penalty conceded by Tade.

He said they would be transferred to the Football Trust which is a totally different thing.

Thanks....I was worried I wouldn't get to sleep tonight!!!

A company can call itself anything it wants....Trading Name does not have to be the same as the companies registered name. Nothing immediately sinister or unusual with such things, happens all the time. In fact, the ICT Supporters Trust (our "Trading Name") is registered under the name ICT Supporters Society Ltd.

The Members Club voting right was transferred to the Supporters Trust.

And the one at the other end where the Aberdeen boy palmed the ball down with both hands from our free kick.

Finally common sense at Pittodrie!
Being U16 does not prevent you from being ejected, it's just that the responsible adult you are with should leave along with you.

An inspiring first 45 minutes from ICT. Some of the link up play involving Tade, McKay and Sutherland was just sublime....Tade especially as he's not renowned for having a deft touch but the flick ons and through balls were top drawer. Only criticism is that we still lack someone reliable to get a shot on target and can't help but feel if we had Andrew Shinnie in the mix there then we'd have stuck a handful past Aberdeen in the first half. Have heard a couple of comments suggesting OTJ started slowly, but I think "more composed" would be a better description. He could be key to the midfield battle for the rest of the season, not only through his own performance but from the confidence he seems to instil in those alongside him as Tansey had his best game this season and was moving with far more purpose and less "headless chicken" as has been the case a few times this season. At the back...Golobart was immense, please can Wigan be relegated to increase the chance of us maintaining the lads services....just wish we had something in the kitty to offer Wigan a fee for him!!! If Tokely can turn out performances like that for the rest of the season then he might just change my mind about him being at the end of his SPL career with us. Young Shinnie was at his best, both in defence and in turning midfielders inside out when pushed further forward. Always nice to see a defender who can do more than just hoof it. Meekings...I would like to say that he was unlucky to have been carded twice, but he wasn't as he deserved both cards. The second one was always coming and Butcher should have done the lad a favour and hooked him before it happened, especially as we had two options in Proctor and Piermayr on the bench. Other than the cards and some cynical challenges besides, he had as good a game as anyone else. Finally....Tuffey!!! I think it might have been a blessing in disguise for him to have started, especially towards the end of the game. If Esson has a weakness it is dealing with the high balls and that's what Aberdeen spent the last 20 minutes throwing at us time and again and Tuffey dealt with every one that came into his vicinity perfectly. Second half of the game we did what we have failed to do on a few occasions, and that is see out a game with composure and confidence. Tade played a vital roll by constantly pushing forward and forcing Aberdeen into keeping 2 back.... nullifying the extra man advantage for the majority of the time. Midfield perhaps sat a bit deeper than they needed to, allowing Aberdeen to press further up the park and get the high balls in, but we dealt with it all well. All in all, one of the best performances this season and evidence...if any were needed...that this team is more than capable. I just wish they would turn up and do it every week. - Aberdeen -V- ICT
