Expectations for this Season?
Yeah it does, but that's not the point being made or the discussion being had. I was asked what I expected for this season, and 100% effort is what I expect. Nobody can really give comment on where that effort will get us as none of us know or have seen what the final squad will look like or how that stacks up against other teams in the league. So, at this moment, I have no expectation on where we will finish...I know what I would like us to do and I know what I would be happy seeing us do...but that's not an expectation, that's desire/hope.

ICT pitch
Asked about the pitch when down yesterday and got the response that during the weekend of heavy rain "You could go sailing in the car park, but would have had no trouble playing a game on the pitch" The work is complete and the pitch just needs a wee bit more growth to fill out the marks left behind so all is good.

Expectations for this Season?
I expect the team to go out and give 100% every game. If they do that then we'll be where we deserve to be come the end of the season and you can't ask or expect any more than that.

Doran & McKay Signed
Two fantastic signings....and as I understand it, we had first refusal on Doran before he would even look at talking to anyone else who was interested in him...a sign that ICT is perhaps more of a draw for players than we might sometimes give it credit for. Billy McKay (English born Northern Irish Footballer with a Scottish name) I was only vaguely familiar with due to the coverage he got after scoring against Liverpool last year so can't comment on other than to welcome him to ICT and hope that he can settle in quickly and make an impact on the upcoming campaign.

Stuart Duff
Short answer (so we don't go too far off topic)......It may not be there from the get go, but it will come. Once the website is up and running we'll give you some more info on what's still "in development" and we'll also be happy to get some feedback on what can be changed/improved.

Stuart Duff
Why do people assume that just because we've heard nothing that a space is being kept open to allow him to come back? He had a deadline to sign the offer given, that has passed....Butcher now has the freedom to pursue other targets and if Duff does come back looking for a deal then that will only happen if Butcher feels we want/need him. In a market where there's hundreds...if not thousands...of players looking for deals, then the only person risking anything is Duff.

You got to laugh when the SPL decide to embargo a change in Kick-Off time....anyone would think they didn't want fans to have the information as soon as possible!!!- Liam Molesworth
I find it hard to believe that the lad went out to play a game, scored, was offered a contract immediately after the game and then before the bus makes it back to Inverness, found himself being released in front of his team mates. We're also lead to believe that a Director said something to the lads agent at some point within all that which lead to said contract offer being withdrawn...or was it the agent who said "no deal" (not clear from the allegations being made)!!! I don't know what the real story is, but the one being played out on this thread stinks of Chinese Whispers and Half Truths being spun into something more elaborate to justify having a dig....roll on the start of the season and some football to occupy everyone instead.- Barclays Scottish Open
I think the commentators made a bit too much of comments made by players about the course simplicity. Saw a couple of snips of interviews where they didn't give the full comment/quote from players who, for the most part, followed up comments about simplicity with comments about it being exactly what they need in preparation for the British Open as it provided the opportunity to play just about every type of shot in the links game. What's more, I believe they were set to make the course more challenging by way of pin positions for the third and fourth rounds but weather conditions and the eventual order of play did not allow for that to happen. I've not played the course, but I have walked/caddied it a couple of times and I think it has a lot more to offer than we witnessed at the weekend and it's probably a little unfair to pass too much judgement on it given the unfortunate circumstances that dictated events over the weekend. In saying that, as with any new course, there's going to be room for change/improvement and I imagine that all feedback will be taken on board and we'll see some tweaking before next year.- The Pre-Season Thread
I'm a little apprehensive, but that's probably more to do with not knowing much about our new players (and their being so many of them) as opposed to not thinking they are up to the task. A fortnight is a long time in football (especially during transfer time) so I'm trying to remain in "wait and see" mode.- Official Travel Club
I know I said more info this week, but been busy and had to finalise a couple of bits of info. I now have everything I need and will be updating the Supporters Trust website tomorrow and putting the online booking live. Will post back here as soon as I have done that.- ICT pitch
The problems was a culmination of things...that included an exceptionally high tide, but that on it's own would not normally have caused a problem. From what I understand, the club had the problem fully investigated and it would appear that the compacting work that took place when the USH was installed and contributed too and/or caused some of the drains under the pitch to collapse (mostly in the North West corner). As well as rendering those drains useless it also allowed material in which caused blockages elsewhere. Not sure if the work is finished, but the reason the pitch was not used for friendlies (or anything else) over the summer was because it is/was being repaired. The rain this weekend will have been a good test of the repair work, but not heard any reports (good or bad) on it, but I shall endeavour to get more info first chance I get.- The Pre-Season Thread
[warn='Please Read.....']Ok, here is the deal. Moderators have tried to be as polite as possible in bring this thread back on track and from what I can see they have been ignored, and in some cases people have started to take the piss. If you don't understand polite, then perhaps you'll understand this.... 1. We HAVE identified a handful of users who appear to be bullying one other user. These people have been messaged asking them to stop, some have ignored that warning and a site suspension is now being considered. Bullying WILL NOT be tolerated in any form. 2. A few more users have decided to jump on the bandwagon thinking it is some kind of game....STOP NOW or risk the same fate as those above. 3. We have a Report System for dealing with any issues a user thinks may exist. Site rules/guidelines clearly state that this is how any/all problems should and will be dealt with. The moment a "victim" chooses to ignore that system and start ranting on the forum they become part of the problem and will be dealt with accordingly. 4. There will be no further discussion of this matter on this or any other thread by site users. If you have a problem with anything in this post or in regards to this topic, Report It or PM a Moderator. Any more posts on the matter will be deleted and warnings will be issued. Now...can we all just grow up and get back to football??? Thank You.[/warn]- Dani Sanchez
Got the feeling that had Sanchez just had a better run of things and not been dogged down by injury then he would have still been a part of the squad here (especially as we seem to be setting up to play more of a passing game). Hope it works out for him in NZ.- What do you think.....
.....should we look to sign some of these guys?- Why cant ICT do this
I've been working more "on the ground" as it were, with some of these things to see how we can help the club put things in place. First off...the club simply don't have the money to shell out on things that aren't, at the very least, going to cover their own costs. I don't like that, you don't like that and the club don't like that...but it is what it is and we have to try and come up with ways of working within that constraint. Scotty and I have been working with the club to come up with ways of providing some of the things fans have been asking for....as has been already stated, we have an online shop that is now run and controlled by the club instead of being outsourced and off the back of that we already have the online highlights sharing the same domain/resources. What's still to come (and pretty soon) is moving the rest of the website over onto that platform with a lot of things being tidied up to make it easier to find information, the addition of information that wasn't there before and a far more user friendly platform which will allow staff at the stadium to get news and information on there in a more efficient manner. There's opportunity here for anyone who is interested in helping produce some of that website content as the club are on the look out for a match reporter and someone who could also take information from press calls and turn it into articles to go on the site. If you're interested, drop me a PM or an e.mail to donald at caleythistleonline. In regards to video production. We already have Andy doing matchday video and we were trying to edit that down into our own highlights but it's not something that can be done quickly or on the fly and we ran into some logistical issues. We're looking at those and trying to get back to what we were doing before. With the interviews, Andy has done a couple, but preparing/performing the interviews isn't his thing and again, it all takes time to do and as people also have jobs and families there's only so much you can ask/expect of one person. If there's anyone out there who wants to volunteer to assist with doing these things then get in touch with me. I've been doing matchday twitter updates as and when I can, but it's not always possible for me to do and sometimes it would be nice to enjoy the game without the additional duties, so assistance on this would also be welcomed. One thing that is changing at the club is the willingness to let fans help, and as you can see, in some of the areas where they aren't performing up to what we might want/expect or where things aren't happening at all, then opportunity exists for us to step up and make it happen. This is nothing new in the Football World, it happens at clubs all over the country and some of the best "New Media" departments at football clubs are operated by fans. We can have that here if we can just get committed volunteers (companies or individuals). I'm really not interested in the arguments about who's responsibility it is to make these things happen or that the club should be paying for this that or the next thing and providing X or Y service. I've had all those discussions and gone through all those arguments several times with several people over the years and all it achieves is another season gone by with little or no change or improvement. Bottom line....if you want it, come get it.- Official Travel Club
Will definitely be a bus for the Motherwell game, will get full details posted some time this week.- Why cant ICT do this
I can probably give a little more info on a few of the points raised but won't be near a PC for a couple of days and don't fancy making a long post from my phone.- Official Travel Club
You are correct, the buses used to transport people between the Caley Club and TCS are not luxury coaches, they are town buses and of a totally different style and standard to those being hired by the Travel Club for away days.- Another Hearts player misbehaving
If Hearts are not willing to do what's right then the SFA/SPL should intervene. They can't dictate who Hearts can or cannot employ directly, but as every player needs to be registered with these associations then they can revoke that registration and prevent him from ever stepping foot on the park again. Failing that, ever other club should move to ban him from their grounds...which they could justifiably do on the grounds of it being the safest means by which to ensure he has no contact with any minors at our clubs.- Another Hearts player misbehaving
Is that "breaking" news, because the last I heard (lunchtime) he'd been told not to return to the club until they had made a decision.- Caley away kit
Wasn't sure about the collar and cuffs to start with, but don't think it would look right without the red/blue highlights. Also, from the pics, it looks to be a looser cut design, so hopefully it'll be a more comfortable fit.- Terry Butcher backs team GB
If FIFA didn't have a "one team" agenda, then why give the FA the remit to enter a team under the banner of "Team GB" without the need for agreement from the other associations? That alone shows total contempt for the other 3 associations and should be enough for people to realise exactly what FIFA think of our right to be independent footballing nations. What's more, who or what gives FIFA and/or the BOA the right to say that one nation can stand alone and call themselves GB? Regardless of whether or not it would be the thin end of the wedge in terms of putting more pressure on for a National UK team, why should we be expected to submit ourselves to the whims of the English FA? It really speaks volumes for just how out of date and out of touch these people really are. During a time when devolution is one of the main aims of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland....they think we are going to accept a policy that pushes in the total opposite direction!!! - Rangers 13 August
