  1. Not true Harry....in the past the "expected" answer would have been...well, no answer at all and a wall of silence.
  2. Can't see Adams jumping ship for Killie. If he was to leave C*unty then it would likely be due to lack of funds being made available to him and that's likely to be worse in Kilmarnock. I also think Adams would be a fool to leave C*unty, he's actually doing a pretty decent job with them and if he does get a bit of cash to improve the team then I fancy them for promotion next year.
  3. 2500 Members and 2000 Season Ticket Holders.
  4. Andy Walsh, General Manager, FC United of Manchester gave a talk at the Supporters Direct Scottish Conference at the weekend. I was quite amazed to see that they basically offer a Season Ticket pricing scheme based on the concept that people pay what they can afford...within reason...for Adults they do ask a minimum of ?90, but last year they averaged ?140/ticket based on what people actually paid!!! Discuss......
  5. They might get a few more visiting if their stewards weren't total morons.
  6. Until one of the "bigger" teams screw up and they play the "genuine error" card and decide not to uphold the rule. In most cases adequate rules already exist....it's just that those charged with enforcing them are totally inept.

Whilst I don't necessarily disagree with some of what you've said, I do think we have to stop using what happened 17+ years ago as any kind of guide or benchmark for where we should be aiming. Aside from anything else, so much has changed in that time that many of the previously discounted options will have either been developed for other things and/or more suitable now than they might have been then. Stratton Farm is perhaps the best example. 17 years ago it would have been considered "on the outskirts" of the city at best. These days it's very much part of the city and is no more out of the way that the retail park which is visited by thousands every day without a second thought as to it being a pain to get there.....it also one of the best served by public transport with it being possible to get a single bus from most parts of town...even the North Kessock Service goes via there!!!. Given that we're not looking at an imminent shift it's also likely that much more will change before it is ever likely to happen....but having the "thought" out there could influence, or at least have people thinking about, how such a thing can/should be accounted for in any future plans. What George Fraser talks about involves looking to the future, not the past.
  8. Kenny is nobody's "puppet", I can assure you of that.
  9. If you're looking at a Saturday/Sunday then the 26th/27th June probably best as that will give 4 matches from the quarters over the two days. The Semis are on the 2nd/3rd July which is a Friday/Saturday - 4 matches. Finals are 10th/11th July which is a Saturday/Sunday, but only 2 matches. If we can agree the dates then I can suggest plenty of venue options....although we may have to look at taking our own large screen
  10. Yes....one I started a couple of seasons back that seemed to catch on was..... "I'd rather be a Brush than a Combe" Keepers are easy targets and make for at least 45 minutes of friendly banter if you can pull together a song/chant about them. Another of the McGovern ones that I don't think has been mentioned on this thread yet is.... "Big Ears, Small C***" All quality banter and even better if you can find one little thing that seems to niggle them and cause any kind of distraction or reaction.
  11. All the information on Season Ticket Renewals, Prices, Forms etc can be found by Clicking Here Whilst CTO is not an official communication channel to the club, if anyone is having any problems and is unable to get in contact with the club directly for any reason then please post here and we will do our utmost to pass the information on. However, PLEASE try contacting the club directly first. One point that came to light today was people trying to move seats whilst renewing. Having had this flagged to them the club have released the following additional guidance. Please note any existing season ticket holders wishing to relocate their seats within the stadium cannot do this online or via the ICTFC Hotline. We can offer this relocation service Wednesday to Friday by coming to the Stadium Shop. Alternatively any existing season ticket allocations not taken up by 30th June will be released (for a period of 3 days) to current season ticket holders wishing to relocate should the opportunity arise by a similar system as detailed above prior to going on general sale. Please keep any discussion regarding opinion on prices, being moved, not being moved, wanting a white seat instead of a blue one or any other things to the existing threads and leave this one for the sharing of information about getting people through the renewal process.....thanks.

I disagree, no reason why the pitch shouldn't be able to handle 2 or 3 games a week. Our current one is only used once a fortnight for matches, but it is used regularly for training with no ill effect. Remove the training from the main pitch and have external grass and artificial training surfaces on-site and you easily have a setup that can fulfil the needs of everyone mentioned.....and more. Aside from that, I can't see City or Clach having any need to use a full size stadium and if the external pitches were set up right then they could be used for their matches. The "Where" is the big question. I think some still have an eye on the Bught but the development required to the road infrastructure to support it would be colossal...even if/when the new distributor crossing over the canal goes in. Canal Pitches...perhaps in some kind of agreement to include the Rugby and American Football in the setup (happens with other clubs). The A96 corridor still has ample space for such a development near to the city and as it develops would soon become as central as anything else. The old Torvean Quarry would be big enough and also provide a natural amphitheatre which the development could be built in to. It would also provide natural protection from the worst of the elements and a sound barrier to keep noise contained. (Awaits "what noise" questions) The Carse...in desperate need of development and as it's quite detached from other industrial areas then the council may be keen to develop it for other use. The whole thing may seem a bit, as has been said..."Pie in the Sky"...and it certainly wouldn't be something that would happen any time soon....but the fact that it is being talked about is positive and if/when the opportunity presents then you already have your starting point, you'll know everyone's aims and objectives and have some idea as to the requirements the project would need to deliver. These things in themselves can take years to sort out before any thought is ever given to the location, design etc etc.

I don't think it comes as a surprise to anyone that the club have ambitions for a stadium which is better than we have at TCS. In fact, I think it would be safe to say that whilst we don't fill all our seats at every home game, the club has outgrown TCS and many of the facilities we fans would like to see and the club would love to provide just can't be accommodated within the current stadium or the current setup. ICT have often been accused of lacking ambition or operating in a manner not befitting the level the team play at. I've been one of those who's made such statements, but I believe we are starting to see them stepping up to the plate with some real drive to move the club forward. Maybe we got a little complacent during our last spell in the SPL and relegation provided the boot up the backside needed, perhaps it was our bouncing straight back after that setback that's shown them what we are really capable off, it could be Terry's energy, drive and commitment with the playing side that's rubbing off....or perhaps it's a bit of a combination of everything....I don't know, but I like what I see these days and whilst we'll always have things that some people don't like or stuff that goes wrong (that's life), so long as people are giving their all and pushing the right way, then long may it continue.
  14. I wonder if the press will be so quick to print that an amicable solution has been found for those who were asked to move or will they just now ignore it and leave it's readers with the impression that a problem still exists?

I would have reversed to make sure I'd got him good and proper. If reporters and cameramen insist on surrounding vehicles and putting off the camera flash in the face of those driving then what do they expect? He'd have got a mouthful from me as well.
  16. Can't say I am overly familiar with the finances at Dundee but I'm wondering how much of a "story" really exists in this and how much of it is the outgoing Chairman having a wee rant. Melville has already been put on record saying he'll continue his financial support, albeit with a "must be spent more sensibly" caveat. If that financial support is in the form of loans then Dundee are on a hiding to nothing, but if it's "free money" then I don't see the problem with the spending...other than the ability to sustain it should Melville suddenly depart.
  17. I'm surprised you found 18!!! :D
  18. His background is in Civil Engineering, was with Tullochs for a good few years before moving to RoK when the whole merger/acquisition thing took place a few years back....these days he works as a Louis Walsh lookalike!!! Was delighted when it was announced that he had rejoined the Board and am delighted to see he's now been given a more day to day role.
  19. Being of the taller/larger persuasion I remember trying to buy a season ticket in the North Stand for one of the seats at the top of the stairs when they were first built and being told that they weren't for sale as they were allocated for Stewards. That may have changed when we were in Div 1, hence why some have tickets there, and now needs to be changed to fit back with SPL requirements. PremierICT, if my understanding of your situation is correct then you should give the club a bell and talk to them. I'm pretty certain they'll be only too happy to work with you to sort something out and if you wanted to wait to see what the deal was with seats available after the priority renewal period then they would make sure you don't lose out or end up paying more than you have too.
  20. See Here
  21. Get where you're coming from Jagster, but they wouldn't have needed ticket money during the season if they had been season ticket holders....and if they're not season ticket holders then they're not entitled to the early renewal discount so there's no problem and they can continue to save over the summer and get their season ticket when they get enough together.
  22. CaleyD replied to Doofer's topic in Caley Thistle
Yeah, the tune was actually chosen by Terry for the team to run out too. No idea if it holds any special significance beyond being just a tune he likes.
  23. Why haven't you been saving up before now? Surely it's not just come as a surprise to you that you'd need be be buying a ticket for next season?
  24. We're getting away from the point of my original post....and that is the fact that it's shocking that fans of so many clubs do not even know, and in some cases can't find out, who owns them. What's even worse is that football clubs talk about being at the heart of communities etc, but for so many, the reality is that the money they are making is being syphoned off abroad. The FA talk about "Fit and Proper" person tests, but how rugged can these tests be when real owners can't be traced and/or operate in countries where they have little or no access to the real financial position of the owners. I'm not disagreeing with your view on Christian Aid and given their own position (perceived or otherwise) when it comes to money the report could certainly be viewed as hypocritical on their part....but that doesn't mean their findings are wrong or should be cast aside and ignored. In fact, it could be argued that Football has reached an operating level on par with religion insofar as those running the game and the clubs feel they are beyond the morals and laws which the rest of us are expected to operate by. Something which only lends even more weight to the argument that something needs done about it.
  25. "Oh Fluffy Sheep, are Wonderful" (although I'm still not convinced everyone was singing Fluffy!!!)
