  1. Until we see the next set of accounts (and the ones for the forthcoming year), I'm not at all convinced that there has been any significant cost cutting at the club. We may be spending less on the football side of things, but it would also appear that we are spending a helluva lot more on the non-footballing side. On the footballing side...given the amount of change that has happened with the squad, I don't think we can draw comparison with what happened at the end of last season and what we should expect from the start of this season. That's not to say that we shouldn't have any hope and/or opinion on how things may play out, just that it should be based on what's there, not what was there. I think my feelings for events on the park for the upcoming campaign could be best described as nervous optimism!
  2. If that's the case, why do they sit back and let the less talented ones do all the singing?
  3. It's been a while since I looked at it, but ICTFC had one of the highest % of population figures for any club in Scotland. That's not to say that there's not room for growth, there always is, but what we can't afford to do is shift so much resource into chasing small margins that we end up neglecting and losing the existing fan base. In fact, when it comes to such matters, there's very good argument to be made in favour of almost solely concentrating on your existing fanbase and allowing their positive experience to work as the attraction to draw in new fans.
  4. Gary is without doubt a leader...on and off the park. The type of player who will also, literally, put his body on the line for the team. If a squad lacking a bit of direction and self belief has been your problem, then you couldn't have asked for a better man than Gaz to have in the changing room. As if that wasn't enough, top bloke and total gent off the park....oh and he has his coaching badges....and is always willing to take time to talk with fans. You could do worse than give him the captain's arm band.
  5. Not the first time that TB was offered a job out there.
  6. As I have highlighted before. The accounts at the end of the last financial year showed a higher bank balance than was the case in the vast majority of previous years. This whole "the previous board left the club in a financial mess" line has no basis in fact. What's more, it is those previous board members (and associates) who provided the money to keep the wolves from the door last season.
  7. I hope there's not a quota on green arrows!
  8. Efficient....and it's all the info I have ?
  9. Constructive criticism welcome (and encouraged, IMO). It will take us a couple of weeks to get a handle on where everything is at, deal with the year end (which is end of this month...big thanks to Kath who is on top of that), sort the membership records and put new systems in place for administering those records and managing renewals and new applications going forward. A communication is being prepared that will provide a bit of insight into who the board are and what they each bring to the table for the benefit of the ICT Supporters Trust. I am, personally, encouraged by the energy and attitude being shown by a group who are determined to have the society knocked into shape and well and truly set back on the right track and in the right direction so we can present something everyone can be proud of at the AGM in December.
  10. Charlton was good.
  11. If only it worked like that ?
  12. Unfortunately I won't be there as I'll be in the Outer Hebs, but hopefully get a good crowd. Unlikely to be a money spinner by the time we pay Aberdeen's Fee and matchday costs, but good opportunity for the coaches to see the team against (what should be) a higher level of opponent.
  13. Hi Robert, there's a quick update over on this thread... we'll have information on membership (renewals and new sign ups) and other things available just as soon as we can ?
  14. Why would Ryan want to sign Robbo?
  15. This is just a very quick note to say that the new board of Caley Jags Together met for the first time last night (Tuesday) to appoint office bearers and take care of one or two bits of immediate business. Office Bearers are as follows.... Chairman : Don Johnstone (CaleyD) Vice Chairman : Peter Mutton (Doofers Dad) Secretary : Jen Aitchison (Jenaitchie) Treasurer : Kath Fraser (Ladyf) Other board members... Laura Grant (L_G) Ewan MacRae (Glover) Stewart Murdoch (MainStandJaggy) The following persons have accepted co-opted positions on the board... Lynne Macdonald (Old Caley Girl) Jen Aitchison (Jenaitchie) One of the items towards the top of our agenda is improved communication and we are looking at how best we do that in terms of website, social media (including CaleyThistleOnline.com), email, snail mail (where necessary) etc. If anyone has any questions or queries in the interim, please feel free to drop us an email : [email protected] or reply below. If you are speaking to any other fans/members who feel they should be receiving communications from Caley Jags Together, but are not, then please pass them the email address above and ask that they get in touch so we can check the contact details we have on record. As an organisation, Caley Jags Together has it's work cut out to regain the confidence of it's members and the wider ICTFC Community. The first steps have been taken to point things back in the right direction and we will be working hard in the coming months so that we can present a very different picture at our AGM which will be held towards the end of 2018. We will be sending out a communication with more detailed information on your new board, membership renewals and dates for the AGM in the next couple of weeks.
  16. Given that this is his home city and his family live here....I'm going to step out on a limb and say that it's unlikley he's been spotted in Inverness.

    Season Ticket

Yes to scanning...but it will be scanned by a turnstile operator. Unmanned entry has caused a lot of clubs a lot of issues and most maintain a human presence at turnstiles as a result.
  18. Probably count against him given that the current board have gone to great lengths to avoid appointing friends and family to prominent positions within the club. ?
  19. I'd love it to happen, especially for the benefit of our younger players. If Chipper leaves (and I think he'll jump at the chance and the club will grab at the compo) then his replacement is likely to be someone else who's been here before, but who wouldn't have to relocate.
  20. Spoke with Parky last week. He turns 65 soon and is very much enjoying retirement, so would be surprised if that happened....unfortunately.
  21. He was linked with them last week, but I see in the papers this morning that he's (reluctantly) been given permission to go speak to them.
  22. Problem is that there's too many who don't know the difference between criticism and being abusive. Not a CTO problem only, it's a product of the anonymous/faceless nature of social media which removes the accountability.
