2018/19 League Cup Group Draw
Away to Hearts is not a bad shout for the club's finances as it would draw a bigger crowd there than here.

Gary Warren told he can leave
As Charles Bannerman's attack on me has been left in place, I would like to make one small point....I was not, and never have been, an employee of the club. The decision to step away from the work I was doing, was mine. Since then I have been back to voluntarily assist people at the club with several different things. So, by no definition of the phrase do I fall into the category of "disgruntled ex employee".

Gary Warren told he can leave
Your reaction is the desired outcome for Charles as it adds additional pressure in the hope of a reaction. Some people will disagree with my opinion...just as I will disagree with theirs...and I welcome the discussion that grows from that. Getting personal adds nothing of value to that.

Gary Warren told he can leave
I know Charles of old and have seen this from him before many times over the years, and quite a bit recently aimed at me. In fact, it is a fairly common tactic employed by journalists of a certain ilk. It fulfils two purposes. Firstly it distracts from the fact that they can't build a case against the facts/informarion presented by attacking the persons character instead...argumentum ad hominem. Secondly, it's a tactic employed to try and get a story; and the theory is that if you throw about enough nonsense about a person/situation (and Charles knows what he's aimed at me is nonsense) they will move to defend themselves and in doing so become the story...again, becoming a distraction to the original discussion. The problem here is that Charles has gone too far in making it personal; and in his desperation to get a rise out of me has drifted into the realms of defamation.

Gary Warren told he can leave
So, Charles....what's changed in the last 14 years that means a large squad of predominantly young players is more likely to deliver success than the previously proven formula of a smaller squad which is made up of both youth and experience?

Gary Warren told he can leave
It's laying the exact same line on Gary as they did on David Raven and OFW.....the former who was made an offer they knew he couldn't accept and the latter who found himself frozen out in an attempt to move him on.....you could probably throw Draper in there as well, as his parting wasn't exactly amicable. Robbo will say all the right things, but ultimately it's designed to put pressure on the player to go. If he stays and the season flops, he becomes the scapegoat....the guy who refused to leave and stopped us bringing in other signings. Sadly it seems to be the way with football these days, but that doesn't mean we have to accept or like it.

Gary Warren told he can leave
A lot of journalists giving the impression that the manager/club are keeping them up to speed on what players contracts/earnings are or have been. Has nobody heard of GDPR ? A balanced (age & experience), full time squad of 16/17 (or there about) supplemented with youngsters and loan signings was enough to get us to the Premiership.....twice before.

Gary Warren told he can leave
If, as we are expected to believe, Gary Warren is being paid over the odds...then by what logic do the club (and those supporting their actions) expect him to find a better offer elsewhere and just walk away? What's more; on one hand this is being pushed as a cost saving exercise...but the story doesn't fit with that as Robbo is allegedly saying that it will allow him to bring in 3 other players. That's not a cost cutting exercise, that's a decision to go with quantity over quality.....a policy that has NEVER served us well. If it looks like BS, smells like BS and tastes like BS....chances are, it's BS!!

Two steps forward and one step back would at least be progress...but we appear to be going with one step forward and two steps back.

If we can get/keep everyone fit then think the squad is looking not too bad, so that doesn't concern me.- Championship 2018/19
Our winning the Scottish Cup was the culmination of a *5 year schedule of building, which could never be sustained; a club with our resources simply doesn't have the means to allow it to do so. The fact that we managed to pull off a 5 year plan in the manner we did required a great deal of personal sacrifice by those off the park as well as those on it....and a large slice of good fortune. Our board need to get their had out of their arse and realise that our greatest periods of success have come from investing in people....not just financially and not just on the park. As I told them when I decided I could no longer be a part of the dismantling of everything good at the club (changes were needed, but the foundations were actually pretty solid)..... Respect is Earned, Honesty is Appreciated, Trust is Gained and Loyalty is Returned .....that has been the recipe for success at ICTFC from day one and it has been almost entirely stripped from the club in the last 12 months. *It could be argued that it was a 6 year schedule as the commitment from the board to back the fan's financial support with a £1 Million investment kick started the return to the premiership...the first piece of the jigsaw. - Toni Macaroni or Plastic Whistle?
