  1. It was entirely within the EMG's remit to have accepted those late submissions and if, as suggested, there was sufficient space for them to have been accepted without taking number over the board maximum, then I don't see the problem....but it is equally their right to reject them. I just hope they were fully aware of the options. Laura, it is not for you or the EMG to state whether those nominations will or won't be consider for co-option by the new board...and the new board are under no obligation to even look at them. Anyway, on to Tuesday's meeting, which would now appear to be one of affirmation voting as opposed to an election.
  2. See you Inverness Thistle and raise you Inverness Caley...
  3. ...and it's Mckay...small 'k' ?
  4. Maybe the moderators should have stepped in and dealt with it sooner then?!
  5. I'd agree with that. I've enjoyed many interesting and thought provoking debates with Charles over the years. It's only more recently when he's chosen to attack the poster instead of the points being made that, that has changed.
  6. My thoughts on what Jake will go on to achieve are just my opinion....time will prove me right or wrong. I won't elaborate on anything that's not already in the public domain. What we had with Jake is a player who was sent off to another club for a trial at the turn of the year...as close as it gets to telling them they're not wanted. For the person who did that to then expect them to come back and fight for them on the park is a little naive. Yes, I get the argument about going out and being professional, yadda yadda yadda, but how many of us would perform at our best if our employer had told us we weren't wanted, but expected to turn up every day and keep giving our all for the cause?
  7. Sorry Scarlett, but you're talking out of your hat about Jake. Yeah, he had stuff to work on...but let the team down? gimme a break! There's others with far, far worse records in that regard. I stand by what I said about it being a massive mistake for the club in letting him go. For Jake, however, it would have been a massive mistake to stay and I hope he gets better looked after at Hearts.
  8. It's debatable whether enough time was provided for submissions in the first place, so I would hope it isn't rejected. I have submitted a nomination.
  9. It wasn't. I did have a bit of an ongoing debate with them about my use of songs referencing caravans and related matters...so I moved on to songs referencing shadows...but the song that resulted in my warning was "Another One Bites the Dust" ?
  10. I got a police warning once for playing tunes intended to wind up Ross County fans ?
  11. No quotes or mention of who at Caley Thistle provided the confirmation....not even the old "a spokesman for".
  12. I was always a pedant...and refute the negative accusation.
  13. So long as you're not reproducing, using for commercial gain or passing off as your own....then then the PRS Licence covers everything that's played in the stadium.
  14. He's also not quite so big ?
  15. Mckay....only one "a" ?
  16. In all my time at ICTFC I saw very few players who could ever have been accused of not trying....those who were guilty of it either learnt quick (from team mates mostly) that it wasn't acceptable or didn't last long at the club. Players have poor games or are off the pace from time to time, but that doesn't mean the effort wasn't there.
  17. So, does the "Gary Warren" rule apply here if this rumour is true? The club need the cash, so the board tell Robbo he should take the offer (if better) from Livingston? He gets a better deal, we get a bit of compensation and we can replace him with 3 coaches!!
  18. FIFA don't get to set the law on what forms a binding contract....it's not within their power to make a decision on that.
  19. He has left, he confirmed it on Twitter.
  20. Verbal contracts are binding under most legal systems the world over.....FIFA rules do not overrule the law of the land in ANY jurisdiction, despite what they might think! Also, we're not talking a "verbal offer" we're talking about an "agreement"....as per the article published.
  21. Of course not....they've said it's subject to a medical, which FIFA say you can't do! A verbal agreement is legally binding....and the fact the club have now put it in writing publicly, doubly so. It gets reported as being the case a lot of the time, but it's mostly (although not exclusively) just paper speak.
  22. Totally agree....knocking a player who's moving on seems to be used as a coping mechanism for some people who feel the need to try and find some justification for the decision which goes beyond what it actually is. Garry Warren seems to be getting similar treatment at the moment.
