CaleytillIdie....you're "I couldn't care less about your situation" comment says it all. Clearly it's ok for you to miss games and your excuses are valid...but nobody else's are. There's obviously no reasoning with you.

If Mel Gibson couldn't even unite the clans, what is your strategy for uniting the fans? First of all the fans have to be willing to unite properly instead of sitting back and waiting for others to do everything. Organisations exist (The Trust) which are often criticised for not doing this or that for the fans...mostly by non-members...which are open to everyone to be a part of, and by being a part of them they become what the fans want and gain the strength in numbers that allows them to do more of what the fans want done. I'm not talking about the formation of some kind of "Rebel" group, I'm talking about a properly organised and governed group who can work with the club to bring about change...and if that doesn't work, are properly positioned to take whatever other action may be required to bring about the necessary changes.

As tongue in cheek as your comment might be, Dan, and as much as I might disagree with the point being made and the manner it was made in by the OP.....I do take some heart from the fact that we still have fans who care enough to stick their neck out and have a pop as the alternative is worse. Not so long ago I went through a life changing experience and during that time, and in the few years that have followed, I've taken to looking back at things I've been told and advice I've been given by people who I now realise had a hand in making the person I am today. One of those bits of advice I got after a major ass-chewing from an old boss. He took me aside once things had been cleared up and explained to me that so long as I was getting taken to task for things and learning then I had nothing to worry about. I only needed to start worrying when I was messing up and nobody said anything, because at that point they had obviously stopped caring and I was likely to be on my way out the door. It's a bit like that with ICT just now. There's more wrong with the club than is right with it at the moment, but so long as we have fans standing up and criticising then at least there's hope as they obviously still care. The worrying thing though is that many of these people have started to become silent....that's partly because they've stopped caring and it's partly because there's so many fans who know things are wrong but they don't take the time to discuss things properly, choosing instead to launch into the "easy" targets....those being their fellow fans who use this forum. As fans we need to unite and work as one unit to bring about changes and improvements....and we need to do that whilst there's still enough of us to make a difference.

The OP has only stated his disapointment in the amount that travelled to see the team in a very important game but as usual his post has been turned into " I'm a better fan than you " type affair , at no point does he stste that he's more of a fan than anyone else yet the misguided fools on here will twist any post to fit there own agenda , one poster even mentions ultras FFS . The only "fool" on this thread is the one that made the sweeping statements about the dedication of about 95% of our fanbase just because they weren't at a specific game. Has CaleytillIdie made every game this season? (Rhetorical, as I know he hasn't). At no point in his original post, or any posts following did he accept that for many...probably most...it's just not possible for them to do so. For example, every home game I give up a days work to attend (and announce) at the stadium. I lose between ?50 and ?80 in wages as a result (I don't get paid to do the Stadium Announcing...my choice and I'm not complaining, just making the point). When it comes to away games if I was to attend those as well then I'm looking at those lost wages plus another ?50 0r ?60 on ticket, food and travel. I'm not the only one that would fit into that profile and you then have those with kids etc who's costs will be double (or more) what others would be. Factor in that the mood surrounding the club (and as a result the fans) is EXTREMELY low at the moment and even those who could afford it aren't entirely motivated to be making these long (and often pointless this season) journeys. I know people who I would have considered more "die hard" than me who just can't get excited about ICT right now...and it's not only in regards to the league position or quality of football. As I said, the OP made no allowance for any of these points...and I'm sure people will come and try and knock me down for making them...but that is the reality of things right now and if those running the club took a moment to get out there and speak to (as opposed to at) the fans, then they might just start to realise why we're coming apart at the seams. Maybevthey would then stop sitting around in their clique criticising us (the fans) and blaming us for things and realise that they are the only ones with the power to sort things out and start putting a smile back on the faces and start getting people back behind the team and the club like they were 5 or 6 years ago. Some fans also need to make the effort to engage brain before waffling on about things they have clearly given no thought too. If the OP wanted a discussion then why not ask the simple question "How come the attendance at Airdrie was so poor?" He clearly wanted to have a pop instead....and there's little or no value in kicking off a thread in that manner unless you're looking for an argument.

Team for Thistle game
I won't commit to a full line up but I was wondering earlier if, with the benefit of a fit Hayes, we could perhaps try utilising Imrie's energy in the middle of the park....in much the same way as Black used too.

Defender on trial
Couple of things that sprung out at me in todays article.... Suggesting we can't afford to sign a player outright? ...and we can't afford to pay anything to keep Bulvitus?

A little help winding up a new County fan.
- A QPR's fans thoughts....
I reckon my list would be a candidate for the forums longest ever post.- Tokely's 500th Appearance
I did ask someone at the club to put a word in Tel's ear about that. The response was negative. Not sure but I think the numbers in SFL reflect position and I think we need Ross at the back. Been a while since someone had me reaching for the rulebook....but here you go. From the SFL Constitution and Rules 2009-10 66.7 Those players commencing the match shall be numbered one to eleven in accordance with the list handed to the referee before the match and the substitutes numbered from twelve onwards. This is the only reference made to what numbers should be used and there's nothing to indicate that numbers should reflect position played.- Stirling Meerkats FC
Don't think they were the first....Livi's ground was City Stadium (after the City Group) and West Lothian Courier Stadium...although not sure if that was before Shyberry Excelsior in 1998?- Stirling Meerkats FC
Americanisation, Charles? Where do you think they got idea from? OK, so we didn't have too many teams named after animals and the like, but the idea of naming teams after, or in connection with, commercial entities is nothing new to the UK....Ferranti Thistle, Inverurie Loco Works, Thames Ironworks FC, SCWS Soap Works, Newton Heath LYR etc etc.- Stirling Meerkats FC
Why would the SFA want to intervene to prevent it? At a time when just about every club needs to be thinking outside the box in terms of generating revenue then this is a simple and entertaining idea. As I understand it, these things only involve a change of trading name and so it's not like they would be giving up any company name which might have a long standing history they might look to preserve. We could become the I.C.T. Fly Bees- Clach in administration
We can't even feck things up efficiently....imagine letting Clach beat us in to administration....the shame of it- Bulvitis away?
Replace Bulvitus with Mihadjuks and it's all a little De Ja Vu. Unfortunately I think the outcome will also be the same.- Johnny Hayes
He didn't seem to be limping/suffering too much when he left the stadium, so fingers crossed.- ICT -V- Motherwell : Matchday Thread
Maybe we should take the same approach with who is and isn't allowed to post on the forum....what do you think? There's a section of out support who constantly play the "nobody appreciates us" card and get really upset when they're accused of being nothing but an arrogant bunch of upstarts.....and they wonder why??? Many people have defended them on the basis that they bring a bit of life to the support (me included) but it gets harder and harder to do so when you hear these kinds of stories about them abusing our own players. Nobody is asking you to shout encouragement and support a player you don't like, but at least have the decency and common sense to keep your mouth shut and let them go out there and do their job unhindered. If you want to upset players and put them off their game, at least have the sense to pick an opposition player to direct it at.- The possible return of the longman fortress!
We had all this talk after we beat C*unty in the Alba Cup Semi and then got pumped 1-3 by QotS in the league the week after....on 10/10/09- ICT -V- Motherwell : Matchday Thread
After our second goal went in the entire Motherwell dugout just sat down. Even when the ball went out of play for a Motherwell throw next to them they didn't make any move to go get it and give it to their player to hurry things along.- Ticket Shambles at tonight's game
If you have ticket...queue here. If you are paying cash...queue there. If you have a ticket and you're friend is paying cash...join separate queues and then you can stand around waiting for each other in the concourse blocking the way for others. If you have a ticket and your kid doesn't join that queue, then come back and join the ticket only queue. If you are paying cash and your kid needs a concession, join that queue, then come back to this queue before being sent back to that queue again to get yourself a ticket so you can enter the same turnstile as your kid. Can't say that this system of operation has ever made any sense and it does nothing but cause confusion and frustration for people time after time. Why not have turnstiles that take both tickets and cash and why the need for a separate queue for free kid vouchers? Surely the turnstile operator can have a book of vouchers and just drop one in the till for each free kid they admit?- ICT -V- Motherwell : Matchday Thread
Was several cameras at the game tonight....BBC, Motherwell & two of ours. I'm not going to make any commitment as to when we'll get the highlights online as this is our first punt at it, but we will make it happen as soon as is practically possible. A little patience as we find our feet and refine the process would be great....thanks.- The possible return of the longman fortress!
.....does not a good girlfriend make???- Tokely at Left Back
I don't think Rossco at Left Back hindered him, or the team, in any way. In fact, for the first time in a long time we had a back four that looked solid and comfortable working together. Was only one moment in the second half where they looked to be p**sing about a bit too much and I thought it might cost us...other than that I couldn't fault them. - A QPR's fans thoughts....
