  1. Never saw that one coming....much!!!
  2. Any strikers we are actually linked with being interested in, or is this all just wishful thinking?
  3. CaleyD replied to Yngwie's topic in Caley Thistle
This thread is rapidly degenerating into rumour and gossip.....as far as I'm concerned Imrie and everyone else currently signed and under contract is an ICT Player until ICT tell us otherwise and I can't imagine we'd be in a hurry to sell anyone unless it was an offer we couldn't refuse.
  4. Was it my imagination or did Rooney not hit the bar against Montrose? That would kinda blow the "never looks like scoring" theory out the window.
  5. I'm still not getting your point....if you're short a player for a specific position then you're forced to play someone out of place to fill the gap.
  6. Not much choice when we have 5 or 6 players carrying injuries and knocks!!!
  7. Play nice or I'll have to have a word with your mother!!!
  8. It's a lot more acceptable than having lost....and the way some people are going on you would think we had. A lot of people seem to be hanging the rest of the season on this one game...I'm not saying it was a fantastic performance, but as in any season we'll have days when things don't go to plan but we still pull off a result and we'll have days where we play outstanding football and take nothing from a match....such is the nature of the game. We have people claiming "we won't do this and we won't do that" on the back of one match, and a match where we were missing a number of (what could be considered) key players. If we were well into the season and injuries etc had forced us to field that team and we got a result then we'd be delighted and we'd be noising up opposition fans with claims that even our reserves were beating them.....that for me is the reality of the situation. What chance do we have if, after one game, the fans are already panicking, spreading doom and gloom and talking about relegation? I'm not saying we should be smothering the players/team with false praise, but I don't think we should be slinging up any nooses and herding them to the gallows.
  9. We weren't good enough? Forgive me if I was watching the wrong game, but did we not win? As far as I am concerned that's good enough, and if you can play poorly and win then it surely it only serves to suggest that we'll win more convincingly when we start playing better? Some people are in dire need of a reality check or it's going to be a long depressing season for them...regardless of results!!!
  10. Just a note to let you all know that kick-off has been changed to 7:30pm.
  11. As i have said...ONLY those on DLA can claim the concession. ONLY those with Disabilities get DLA. So, it should only be "genuine" people getting the concession. Why shouldnt I make use of the concession? Unlike the majority of the ICT support, I had been regurarly financially contributing to Inverness football since late 70s, right up until we made it into the SPL, which coincided with a change in my circumstance, although my health issues are life long! I chose not to take the offer up while we were in the SPL, as i had lost my appetite for football (along with life in general). So i feel like trying to inject a little excitement into my life again, through football, so I intend to make use of the concession, for two reasons: 1: I qualify for it 2: Financially, I cant really afford to pay at the gate coz of my low income I think you'll find that's what I was saying. If people qualify and have a genuine financial need to make use of concessions then that's what they are there for and they SHOULD be using them. It's not for me to judge who has genuine need.....as I said, that's all a matter for personal conscience.
  12. It's all a matter of personal conscience. People shouldn't necessarily be taking advantage of a concession just because they fall into a certain demographic...but they do. For some it is a concious thing (i.e. they're just tight) and others don't even stop to give it a second thought, accept their "pigeon hole" and purchase accordingly. Provided there's more "genuine" people claiming concessions than we have chancers claiming it then it's a situation we just have to accept as the only alternative is to means test every applicant, and that's not exactly practical. Those who opt for the cheaper option simply because they can, and who could afford the full price, are only cheating their own club out of much needed revenue.
  13. Your #2 was a feckin carthorse.....lost count of the number of times he fouled our guys, only for the Ref to wave on play. Twice we could/should have had penalties and on one of those he could easily have been sent walking for denying a goal scoring opportunity. The assault on Hayes that saw him having to leave the pitch and no award for us when one of your guys ploughed through Cox. One blatant missed hand ball, twice pulling the ball back when we chose to play a face free-kick....and then moments later allowing Montrose to play it quick without batting an eyelid. Those are just the obvious things that the ref let slide in Montrose's favour....so I fail to see how you can come to your above conclusion!!!
  14. Todays game was typical start of seasons stuff. I thought we had some pretty decent individual performances but we really struggled to link it together and for that reason we weren't threatening nearly enough. The lineup didn't look the strongest, but that was in large part due to players carrying injuries and knocks and not being available. So looking at the positives, we never had our strongest 11 out there (IMO) and the new guys are yet to gel in a full match situation.....and we still managed a win. So when things start coming together then I fully expect to see stronger team performances. Jay_7....your comments directed at the ball boys is bang out of order. First off, they're just kids so there's no need for the expletives. Also, we only had 6 lads available for today and with no crowd in the North and South stands to knock the ball back down towards the pitch they were always going to take longer to retrieve it. If you want to volunteer for future games and show them how it can be done better then the clubs number is 222880.
  15. Might want to check the facts of the situation before starting to make an issue of this as I am pretty sure that disabled fans are fairly catered for in terms of cost of entry to the stadium.
  16. Whilst what you say is true Scotty, the point I'm getting at is that there's nothing...no proper governance...that prevents any clubs owners/directors from milking them of every penny (and more) and then dropping them in the chit (deliberately or otherwise). ICT may have a "healthy" bank balance, but we are the same as Livingston insofar as we have no assets as they've all been stripped away over the years. I like to believe the club are playing it prudent this season...but there's always that niggling worry that we'll get caught up in the "promotion at all cost" mentality and let the books slip a bit. If that happened then we could be sitting here in 12 months facing the exact same scenario as Livingston.
  17. The worst thing is, it wouldn't take much to send us or many other clubs the same way.
  18. And still getting paid if my understanding of the system there is right???
  19. He's going to the Innes....not the Nip Inn!!!
  20. The pubs are both about the same distance from the ground (as per google maps), but are in opposite directions. As we'll have kids on the minibus then I'll definitely be heading for the East End Inn. If enough people on the bus want to head to the Commercial then I'll happily run them over there (one advantage of getting down there in plenty time), but I will be going to the East End Inn myself and you'll then have to make your own way to the ground from the Commercial. I'll be taking minibus up to the Ground so those at East End Inn can have an extra 10 minutes boozing :D
  21. Just spotted that and was coming back to edit....no point now
  22. Squad Numbers for those at the game who didn't pick up a teams line inside the gate (probably avoiding buying a half-time draw ticket ) 1 - Ryan Esson 2 - Daniel Stratford 3 - Graeme Shinnie 4 - Jamie Duff 5 - Narius Bulvitis 6 - Gavin Morrison 7 - Nick Ross 8 - Dale Gillespie 9 - Robert Ujcik 10 - Jaroslav Machovec 11 - Robert Eagle 12 - Jonny Hayes 14 - Kevin Stewart 15 - Andy Barrowman 16 - Adam Rooney 19 - Kyle Allison As can be expected when you put 11 strangers out on the pitch the team performance wasn't the best. Got a feeling that a few people were trying to hard to impress with clever balls and things, but without team understanding it just looked messy most of the time. Ujcik and Machovec didn't do much to impress and if contract offers were being decided on tonights showing then they should be at home packing bags as they are no better than what we have. I was also a bit worried by the poor offering from Barrowman....his typical lazy performance, not willing to put in a shift, backing off of everything and expecting every ball to be played to his feet. Rooney didn't pose much of a goal threat either, but at least he was chasing and harassing and making an effort. Stand outs of the night for me are the two (yet to be confirmed) new signings of Eagle and Hayes. Eagle made plenty of clever runs from out wide and once he gets into a more regular squad and they can better utilise that then I predict some decent things from him this season. Hayes....I think the weight comments are a little unfair. He isn't the smallest of people, but it didn't seem to hamper his game in any way. He's willing to run at players and with a good deal of success....if he has signed then he's going to cause problems for a few opposition defenders this year.....I predict some Wilsonesque performances from this guy with him being the kind of person who'll force defenders into conceding a penalty or two. Most of the rest never stood out (for good or bad reasons) really. I shall be writing a letter of complaint to Terry tomorrow as well.....I travelled to Forres tonight to see LDZ score with an overhead bucycle kick and he didn't even have the decency to include the guy in the squad....grrrrrrr
  23. Stratford and Ujcik have both scored.
  24. Nothing much to report from first half. Pretty boring thus far
  25. Team is Esson, Stratford, Shinnie, Duff, Bulvitis, Morrison, Ross, Gillespie, Ujcik, Machovec, Eagle. Hayes, Stewart, Barrowman, Rooney, Allison
