  1. As I've said elsewhere, what's upset me this season is not the games we've lost, it's the fact that it didn't look like players were giving their all. That wasn't the case today, the players were all up for it, we looked like we had a plan and for large spells it seemed to be working. Bring on Motherwell, and more importantly, let's make sure all players take to the field with the same attitude as they did today.
  2. COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. ICT doing well I think, again we seem to be playing with passion...although Black is perhaps taking that a little too far and needs to be careful of the errors creeping in as a result....could very well see Vigurs taking his place after the break. Had visions of us losing a late goal before the break, but we've held strong and I hope Woods can keep his head after the miss, because if we keep doing what we're doing then he's going to get another couple of chances before the game is over.
  4. Thought Rooney might have been given a shout ahead of Wood up front and think we'll miss the creative runs forward from Vigurs. Assuming Imrie and McBain are wrong way round on the lineup, as are Black and Duncan. Not surprised to see the 4-5-1, as much as I might have liked to see us go for it and be more attacking.
  5. Only for you
  6. Please, oh please tell me you used a dictionary!!!
  7. Brewster the Shamen will put all his little bones with players names on in a cup, shake them around then throw them up in the air and see how they land. The 11 names closest to the middle of the table will play, and they will play in the formation in which they land....no arguments....the spirits have spoken.
  8. If you want to get in some practice and try out your banners then Neil Lennon is doing the official opening of the Celtic Shop in Inverness at 6pm tonight
  9. Depends entirely on his current contract situation.
  10. I thought this was Hastings Testimonial season? I really should start writing things down somewhere, don't think the mind is as sharp as it used to be
  11. Oh B*llocks....this had totally slipped my mind. Apologies Steph, I had picked up the e.mail on my phone when I was out and about and then totally forgot to put the info on here when I eventually got back to a PC.
  12. Talk of "rumours" regarding a Dargo return should be in the rumours forum.
  13. I could be wrong, but I think a Testimonial had been agreed on his last contract, so is probably already on the cards and could even be next season?
  14. Anyone who can put the ball in the back of the net and finish some of the chances that we're creating.
  15. If it injects a bit of atmosphere into the home fans, then what the hey....all just a bit of craic, and provided it's not taken too far then no harm done. I would suggest a "Your near as fat as CaleyD" chant, but I don't think he knows me
  16. I see what your saying i just think a 2 year deal is best. for instance look at cowie...great season last season...this season struggling to get started for whatever reason that may be. black has so far this season been top notch but he hasn't proved himself to be consistant...quarter of the season isn't enough proof...i hope he does sign but two years would be ideal I think for both club and player. you have to agree consistancy is paramount. on his part no player wants to tie himself down unless your talking tens of thousands of pounds a week and he certainly won't get a 5th of that at caley...we all know that caley pay the lowest wages in the league so a player with potential won't want to sign longer than two years. football is such a short career that you cant sign long term deals with low paying clubs and unfortunately caley are one of those clubs. Black has probably been one of our most consistent players since he arrived at the club, so in that regard I think he's proven himself as more than just a "short term" wonder and worthy of being offered as long a contract as we can get him to sign. I'm not arguing over what the player may be willing to commit himself too, I'm on about what is in the best interests of the club. Although, there's also ways of enticing players to sign longer deals without having to commit financially in the wage packet every week. They can be offered an enhanced percentage of any future transfer fee....effectively meaning that the longer they sign up for and the higher a fee the club can command, the better of the player will be....everyone wins.
  17. One less character in Scottish Football. We may remember him more for the frustrations he caused ICT, but I'm sure it won't be without giving him due respect for what he did for his team and what he contributed to the game as a whole.
  18. Ten Men went to lift, went to lift McDonald Ten Men and their Forklift Truck, went to lift McDonald
  19. Someone watches too much Childrens TV
  20. How can a 2 year deal for a player like Black be considered "best for the club"? I honestly think that if the club can (and do) make the right offer to Black then he'd sign longer. I'm sure he has aspirations to ply his trade at the highest level, but let's face it, if a player is good and worth the money then the "bigger" clubs will be willing to pay the price to terminate whatever length of contract he is on.
  21. Some people have been after a look at the old issues of Boardroom Banter from the first time around (Oct 2002 till Feb 2004) - and I have now got these added to the Site Archives. Select News and then Archives from the menu at the top of the page or Click Here to be taken to them. Please keep any discussion about points you wish to raise going forward to the stickied thread/s and keep this for any comments/discussion on the original series of articles....otherwise they may get missed.
  22. Information on Official Site - Clicky Clicky Hopefully just the start, and a few more to come.
  23. With everybody taking points of everyone else it's extremely difficult to predict how points may or may not effect league position and I suspect it will be much the same as it is now with their being very little between 4th and 12th.
  24. That's only one man's side of the story though Alex. Not saying Burley is right or wrong, but if Boyd wasn't showing the work and commitment, then why was he in the squad at all? Both Burley and Boyd are, IMO, arrogant tawts....however, Boyd is an arrogant Tawt who can put a ball in the back of the net....whereas Burley just seems to spend a lot of his time spouting hot air.

The scariest part is that he probably believes what he is saying is logical and sensible (Martin Bain that is, not Scarlet Pimple).
