  1. A very good point troublegum, when Christie resigned and Brewster was tipped as the favourite for the job over 85% of those who voted on the site poll didn't view Brewster as "The right man for the job". A better approach to the subject might be, "Who has changed their mind?" and "Have you moved from the Yes to No camp or vice versa?" Opinion seemed to be slightly swayed at the thought of "Brewster the Player" may bring more than "Brewster the Manager" As has been noted, his impact on arrival seemed to be immediately positive. Some have put this down to "Brewster the player" but he has only played 151 minutes of football for ICT since his return...hardly a valid "sample" with which to judge his impact on the park. I don't actually think we have played particularly poorly in most of our games since his return, it seems to be the inability to change the tactics/formation as needed that is letting us down. Aberdeen in the cup was a dire result, but over the 90 minutes we played some decent football, the same with the result away to Rangers. OK, Motherwell was an absolute disaster from start to finish, but that's only one game. I wasn't for bringing Brewster back, but I think we have to stay off his back just a little longer to give him a chance to rise or fall by his own hand. Be that sorting out tactics or dealing with whatever else is going on behind the scenes that might be having an influence I don't know....but as I said already...for me the jury is still out.

  3. Why do these discussions always have to diminish into petty bickering and points scoring???
  4. Big Oaks from Little Acorns grow!!!! When you consider that they have 20,000 people paying ?35/year to be members of the trust that are buying the 51% share, than that's an annual income of ?700k over and above whatever the club itself may be able to generate....A pretty healthy income stream for a club of that size. Add on to that the fact that they now have an extra 20,000 people with a vested interest in the success of the club and your sure to get a few more through the gates each week, a few more shirts sold, a few more scarves etc etc. I shall be watching on with interest.
  5. My biggest worry when Brewster was appointed was whether or not he had the experience and strength of character to get the lads clicking again. The answer to that early on seemed to be a resounding yes, but aside from the Gretna match these last few games have me wondering whether the improved performances early on were simply a player reaction to a new manager and wanting to impress and were not creditable to Brewsters ability as a manager. I don't buy into all this "It's not his team" carry on either, apart from Pele we've never had a manager who could say "this is a team of their making"...the simple fact is, that a good manager gets the best from the players he has and other than a couple of replacements which would happen under any manager in the Transfer window, it will be a longgg time before Brewster could say this was his team. For me, the jury is out at present.
  6. For me...the idea of providing "more width" means the addition of a 5th Midfielder, not the straight swap of one for another. That's the one thing I find most baffling about Brewsters Subs, they are always like for like, and in reality do little to change formation or tactics.
  7. I know this was a topic discussed on here before....and it looks like they have pulled it off Clicky Clicky
  8. Me. I had decided not to spend time on the phones trying to get a ticket and even when I was offered a ticket I told the person to give it to someone else we knew as they had done more in terms of traveling to support the team over the years than I had ever done. Granted, the person who ended up with the ticket was a friend and I may not have been so generous in allowing it to go to a total stranger.
  9. For simply disagreeing with me??? That's a bit harsh.
  10. It's obvious RiG....ICT are a far better standard of p!sh than the Pars at the moment.
  11. It's been a culmination of things IMO, some of them controllable, some of them not. What bothers me most is that little seems to be happening to rectify the matter. Things happen in all walks of life that cause problems and the true test of character and strength is the ability to pick up the pieces, put things right and move on. I just don't know if we have the right people in place to achieve that at the moment.
  12. I don't think anyone could deny that such a thing would perhaps play on the minds of some players, but I don't think it is the root cause of the issues which run much deeper IMO. I also don't want to get involved in creating some conspiracy theory surrounding the whole thing, the evidence of unrest is there for all to see and it is glaringly obvious that problems exist off the park as well as on it at the moment. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
  13. I'm not denying contact was made or defending Rossco, I just don't think it was the knock-out punch some people are making it out to be. Bottom line is that there's no need for any contact in that situation and he deserved the Red Card.
  14. As per the Forum Rules......... :32:
  15. I disagree, it is far from a punch. In order to punch someone from an angle like that he would need to rotate the shoulders and that doesn't happen. There is also no movement of McGarrys head to suggest any force in the contact that was made and the fact that you see the outside of Rosscos wrist suggest that any contact was made with the flat of the hand. Unless Rossco is some kind of contortionist then it is not physically possible for it to have been a punch.
  16. With a large portion of our budget having been blown on one player I think we'll find ourselves having to pick at the dregs come the transfer window, with players having to move out to make space for ones coming in. There's also the very worrying fact that Brewster was quoted in the P&J recently as having said he hadn't even thought about the January Transfer window yet. Chances of us getting anything other than loan deals come January are very slim and with these guys likely to have been warming benches elsewhere I'm not sure how able they will be to hit the ground running. What we have has worked for us in the past, and other than a couple of "must gets" I think it's more important that we sort out the problems which have upset the current squad as opposed to adding more to the mix.
  17. I don't think Rossco's actions could be described as a "punch" or anything like it, but the moment he lifted his hand and showed intent he was going to be sent walking. Stupid yes...but not, IMO, malicious.
  18. That's for Rapsons to decide, they take the contract for the bus and they are responsible for running it. If it's getting to the stage whereby they are having these problems every week then yes, they need to be raising it with the club. If they can't come to a solution then they simply pull out and tell them to get someone else to run the bus...or no bus runs at all. At no point however should the driver be moving away from the stance if these things are going on, if something were to happen the only comeback would be on them and not the club or anyone else.
  19. The only consolation for those who took part was that they had a good excuse to miss some of the p!sh the team were serving up when they had to go get ready.
  20. I believe that after being sent off today Rossco retired to the changing room and had a "Lost the Plot Noodle"
  21. Very true, but at only 1 down the chances still exists for pulling it back. After the red mist came down for most of our team following that goal it seemed to go from bad to worse. Not saying we would have, and I'm not defending the players who should be professional enough to keep a cool head regardless of such things, but such "moments" do have a habit of deciding the outcome of games.
  22. A "correct" decision on such an important matter might just have been enough to calm down the ICT players and stop them totally losing the plot...so I would say that it mattered a great deal.
  23. I'm with IHE on this one. I thought things had settled down when Brewster arrived, indeed our performances seemed to improve almost immediately as was evidenced at Easter Road. We have the same players and same manager as we had during that spell but things have again started to go pear shaped. If you step back and look at things beyond what;s happening on the pitch it is as obvious as the nose on your face that something else is causing the problem. Not saying Brewster or the players are blameless but it is something else that is the catalyst.
  24. As I said elsewhere, Bayne was in a lose-lose situation today. Firstly he can't jump without closing his eyes and leading with his elbows and the Ref wasn't going to be letting him away with it at any point, and secondly the tactics were hoof it high up the park to Bayne which meant he had no option but to be jumping and challenging. To have continued as long as we did with the player and the tactics was suicide and we paid the price....the only person who should shoulder any blame for that is Brewster.
