  1. I have stepped out to this area many times for a cigarette and have never once been challenged for doing so or challenged when trying to get back in. It seems that the "Opposition Colours" thing was simply a secondary excuse after being challenged on the first point and regarding his possession of a license. If the Steward was not in possession of the relevant license he should not have been manning the door on the basis of controlling entry to anyone....that is the law and this is a clear breach of it.

    Brewster

When Brewster arrived things looked to be on the up despite fears surrounding his managerial ability. He started getting the team fit again and we have rarely played finer football than what was witnessed at Easter Road. However, things seem to have gone drastically downhill in the last month (with the exception of the Gretna game). We've still got the same players, the same manager and are playing the same teams...so what's happened to send things into freefall? With regards to the playing side, we've had rumours of others at the club interfering with team selection, fallouts due to clashes of ego, players refusing to travel home on the team bus, players leaving before full time when subbed (or being subbed after leaving), bust ups during training etc etc. Alram bells started ringing for me this week when I read an article in the P&J where Brewster was quoted as saying he hadn't even thought about the January Transfer window yet. Either by design or default, Brewster does not seem to be in control of the players...which begs the question...who is?
  3. I, and others, have been saying for weeks that problems at the club run deeper than on the field performances and results. Personally, I'm preparing myself for it to hit rock bottom before we start to see any meaningful changes to improve things. This is not some "conspiracy theory" and I'm not pointing fingers at individuals. Ultimately the buck stops with the Board of Directors, and they need to make some difficult but important decisions before the wheels fall off.
  4. Ultimately responsibility for safety lies with the driver. If the bus is overcrowded or people are acting in a manner which will jeopardise the safety and comfort of other passengers then he should not turn a wheel until the matter is rectified. Double Deckers are naturally unstable and a full top deck is recipe enough for disaster, never mind a moving load on the top deck who are intent on making the bus sway.
  5. Bayne was never going to last the 90 minutes today and I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. That was partly down to his own inability to jump for a ball without leading with elbows like a clumsy oaf, and partly down to the hoof it up the park at him tactics which meant he had no option but to keep challenging for the ball in the air. The only people who got even close to pass marks today IMO were Hastings, Fraser, Black, Duncan, Cowie, Wyness and the subs. I hope the rest of them have a fecking miserable weekend and return to training on Monday and are lined up to receive a kick in the balls for their attitude and behavior out there on the park today. The referee was bad, but it was consistently bad and as professional players they should be able to deal with that and adapt accordingly. When you know a ref is going to blow for a certain scenario, you don't keep throwing yourself in to it. Even more so, when he has already booked one player for getting mouthy and warned numerous others....YOU DON'T KEEP BLOODY ARGUING WITH HIM.
  6. For the first time ever I left a game early today as a result of what was being dished up by ICT on the pitch. Being outplayed or having a bad day I can take. Players acting like morons, losing the plot and basically gifting the game to the opposition I cannot. As I've said elsewhere, our problems are run deeper than what's being happening on the pitch...never before have I witnessed such indiscipline, contempt for officials and 11 guys all looking as they they would take any excuse not to be out there. If the players aren't going to bother trying then I don't see why the feck I should bother hanging around to support them.
  7. Your a bit out with the Chieftain and the Hotel Scotty and I can't see Mitch getting much joy if he turned up at Tullochs offices :015: Hotel should be where Chieftain is and Chieftain should be about 500 yards closer to town (at the end of the bit where the stretch of road runs parallel to the Dual Carriageway.
  8. Hope your not expecting her to accompany you to the game either!!!
  9. We'd changed a couple of settings for our database and missed that one...sorted now. Apologies for the inconvenience.
  10. Roy Macbain - Was impressed by his performances as a left back and think he should be retained and used more often in this position. Barry Wilson - Think this may be his last season as a regular starter, but think he could still have a roll to play as a super sub next season, and as he can play either left or right he makes a very useful player to have on the bench. Ian Black - Has come on leaps and bounds this season now that he seems to have his attitude in check. A promising future ahead of him and hopefully we can retain his services. Richie Hart - Despite the fact that I think he still has plenty to offer the team I can't help but think that recent events will have decided his fate, be that the clubs choice not to renew his contract or his own choice to move on. Hope I'm wrong and he fights his way back in tot he squad and earns a contract extension. Alan Morgan - Not one of those players who shines IMO, think he only has a contract till January but seems to be getting a chance under Brewster. I wouldn't be too troubled if he was to move on as he doesn't offer anything more than we have elsewhere. Russel Duncan - Don't think he gets the credit he serves most of the time and he seems to have inherited the attitude that Black dropped which isn't doing him any favours. I think he plays an important job in holding our midfield together, but needs to stop arguing with everyone on the pitch and concentrate on his game. Don Cowie - A no-brainer given that he's been the most consistent player we've had this season. John Rankin - Can't understand why others seem to be getting opportunities ahead of him. He started slowly last season but finished it strongly. Given the choice between Rankin and Morgan I'd pick Rankin. Zander Sutherland - Still young and he's away gaining valuable experience, would perhaps do him good to be out on loan at a slightly higher level come January to prepare him for the step up to the first team squad on a more regualr basis with ICT next season. Markus Paatelainen - Stood out in pre-season as offering something different and seems to have a bit of class. His current injury problems may be the deciding factor and if he isn't back and fit and getting a chance by the end of the season then I would say we need to cut our loses and let him go. Garry Wood - As highlighted already...Woods is a striker. Iain Vigurs - Young guy with apparent promise but lets face it, he's only getting on the bench at the moment because of the U21 rule and barring a major catastrophe then he can be viewed as no more than one for the future as things are.
  11. You have to come up with an alternative name for a Pot Noodle to suit the market your aiming it at...... e.g. For the Korean Vegetarian Market - the "Not Poodle" or for Acne Riddled Teenagers - the "Spot Noodle"
  12. It wasn't all that long ago that fans would have been only too happy to assist in these things, it was par for the course that the club would give back to where they were getting from and no questions would have been raised over payment in any form. But as some have said above and a point that I have made many many times...their is am unhealthy gap developing between club and fans which becomes more and more apparent every time these things crop up. I don't know if the club realise just how much they have drifted away from the fans, nor do I know if they care, but a time will come when the club really do need the help of the fans for something major and the wake up call will come when they discover that the once reliable fans are no longer within easy reach. The "Community Spirit" that once surrounded ICT is on it's last breath and only those with a hand on the reins of the club have the power to turn it back in the right direction.
  13. TCS was at one stage the largest pitch in Scotland (think it still might be) and maybe even in the UK.
  14. Yes
  15. Witnessed some nasty tackles over the years, some of which had far more serious outcomes than the one on Brown. Any tackle has the potential to do injury, but most of the worst tackles I have seen have been the result of clumsy/hard tackling where people have been unfortunate to come off badly, the difference with this one however is that it is obviously performed with the intention of doing serious injury. Had one fan done that to another then they would have been facing the courts and most likely a lifetime ban from attending football matches. Players are not above the law, even when they are on the pitch and that tackle was nothing short of pre-mediated assault with the intention of doing actual bodily harm...a charge that would run serious risk of a custodial sentence. Brown was very lucky to come out of that without a snapped legged. Even though his foot was off the ground at the time of the "tackle" he was coming forward over the top of his leg and it's a miracle that he was ok.
  16. I'm getting worried that your actually starting to believe your own drivel. Niculae was at full stretch and did well to make contact with the ball to control it towards the goal, their was nothing definite about the opportunity and he worked to turn it in to such.
  17. Coming in Jan on loan till end of season if no other offers are made and Zibi going back to Hibs.
  18. My understanding is that regardless of whether exemption is granted as it has been in England that the answer to that question is yes. Although in my experience it has mostly been police who have undertaken this responsibility anyway.
  19. Read the whole thread, the argument has been had already. Fair enough if you disagree with the clubs decision, but (personally) I don't see the need for us to go through the whole thing again.
  20. One day I want to be just like him!!!
  21. Far too many people on this thread been taken in by TV's Footballers Wives series I think. Some of these comments are coming very close to the edge in terms of defamation, so I hope (if challenged) you can back it up with solid facts and not just hearsay.
  22. Apparently it has been mentioned that Celtic are to make a move to lure Szamotulski from Utd during the January window and Mark Brown will be allowed to leave Celtic Park and interest has been shown in having him return to Inverness if a suitable deal can be struck.
  23. I can see where your coming from Alex, and although the legislation wasn't "intended" to cover the roles defined in these other areas it does by default and until such time as an exemption is granted then it has to be followed. I've done a lot of reading up on the subject and you really have to do a lot of cross referencing and matching up to get all the legislation to fit together...it is a complete minefield. Much is made of this "exemption" that exists south of the border but it is not a total exemption. Exemption only applies to those stewards who are not performing "licensable activities" and the level of licensing they require depends on whether they are employed directly by the club or are contracted/agency staff. For Club Employees Club Safety Stewards & Stewards performing licensable activities in non-licensed areas require a Level 2 Stewarding Qualification Stewards performing licensable activities in licensed areas and Supervisors require Level 2 Stewarding Qualification and must have undergone a Disclosure Scotland check For Contract/Agency Stewards Safety Stewarding - as above Licensable activities in non-licensed areas - Level 2 SQ and an SIA Manned Guarding License Licensable activities in licensed areas - Level 2 SQ and an SIA Door Supervisor License Licensable activities at football matches consist of - Those who search spectators on entry to the ground and/or - Those who are specifically tasked with intervening against and ejecting spectators who are in breach of ground regulations. Ironically, should the exemption be granted by the Scottish Office then the Safety Officer in charge of overseeing all activities involving the stewards does not need to be licensed, they simply have to have undergone a Disclosure Check (although I believe the National Football Licensing manual dictates that such persons must hold a position at senior level within the company) So as you can see, even if exemption were to come in to force in Scotland, a good portion of the stewarding staff would still need to get a qualification/license of some form.
  24. I'd split it from a stickied topic and must've forgotten to set this part to normal.
  25. By my reckoning that makes it a result of celebrations from our 4th Rd Scottish Cup victory over Dundee Utd last season :015: Congratulations and great to here everyone is well.
