I don't think we are actually making that many "unforced errors", I just think we fail to play to our biggest strength at home and that is the width of the pitch. There's no doubt in my mind that at home we should be playing 5 across the middle so as we don't have to rely on forwards dropping back or defenders moving forward to give us control in the centre of the pitch. If we're going to adopt a tactic whereby Hastings and Rossco are pushing forward almost constantly then we'd be as well going 3 at the back from the start and having the extra midfielder.

I actually thought Zibi had a decent game today and looked the business other than for the first goal. All that aside though, it was rather distressing to hear people from our own support having digs at the guy before he had even stepped on to the field for the start of the game. I heard comments such as "if we lose this game it's his fault" etc etc before he'd so much as had a chance to put a hand on the ball. We've not seen enough of Zibi in first team action to be comparing him to Fraser, I actually think he has a more complete game than Fraser from what I have seen. He showed his reading of the game is better in the way he was coming off his line to collect high balls in to the box and saved us in that regard a couple of times. He also spots the opportunities to play the quick ball out to one of our own allowing us the chance to hit on the break more often....a couple of our best chances today started with just such a move, and I would need to see the highlights but I think it was a quick ball played out left that sent us on our way for the attack which led to the goal. Granted he hoofed 3 balls out of the park early on, but other than that his kicking was solid and if a keeper is going to blunder a kick I'd rather see it safely reach touchline in opponents half than be sclaffed low down the middle to an opponent...ala Mike Fraser on occasion. Not intending this to be a pop at Fraser, he has his strengths and his weaknesses just the same as Zibi does, but the truth of the matter is that Zibi could have gone out there today and not put a foot wrong and still been lambasted because some of our fans have it in their heads that he's crap and are not willing to cut the guy any slack. Fraser hasn't been at the top of his game, Zibi was (IMO) given his deserved chance and he certainly has performed any worse than Fraser has. Fraser or Zibi for Gretna next week? For me the choice is Zibi...partly because he shouldn't be judged on a single error, and secondly because I actually think he brings a lot more to the game than I have seen from Fraser of late.

Didn't do his future prospects any harm whatsoever during his time on the pitch. Always thought he was a decent player to have in the squad as he can cover several positions if need be, but he looked strong today and if he keeps it up will be deserving of a start in the not too distant.

Goal resulted from rossco being pulled out of position, missing easy tackle and leaving us exposed. Zibi maybe should have done better though. Mcbain not having a great game. We are creating chances and fancy us to be next to score.

I wonder how big Feb 8th is after Saturdays result?

Very good article on the Scotsman Website (Clicky Clicky) about Wyness and his impending 100th goal. Glad to see he's not getting carried away with the prospect of it coming against Aberdeen today and his approach seems very sensible. Also goes on to mention that this is the final year on his contract and talks about his focus being on earning an extension.

:010: Just heard that Parkie may not be in attendance at tomorrows match v Aberdeen. Apparently he's damaged muscles in his chest from laughing so much at the rumour he's considering a trip over the bridge :015:

One of these days we might get a live audience at TCS :023:

Fact...as the Marine/Harbour development gets underway the value of the land and associated leases at East Longman will go through the roof. Fact...local authority will want to maximise income from the area and they aren't going to manage that with a Football Stadium sitting on it - i.e. They can charge far higher rates on a commercial property than they charge ICT at present. Fact...other options will be opened up for a (cheaper) more suitable location in the next few years - i.e. The completion of the Westbound section of the Bypass will open up land in that direction for development. So, we will have developers desperate to get in to East Longman, we'll have a Local Authority who want them there, we have a football team who wants a new stadium and we'll have land which will be far cheaper than East Longman available for development, and we'll have a road infrastructure capable of handling matchday traffic. It's a Win-Win-Win situation and people will be falling over themselves to make it happen. As far as I am concerned, it's not a case of IF we relocate, it's simply a matter of when and where. The cost of building the new stadium will factor a good bit down the list of priorities given how cheaply they can be thrown together these days. 5,6,7...even 10 or 15 million is a drop in the ocean and developers/local authority would easily claw that back pretty quickly.

Someone screwed up with his time calculations and subtracted 8 hours instead of adding them to allow for the time difference :023: That means the actual scheduled time is 6am to 8am tomorrow morning (Saturday 20th).

A certain "Myth" exists surrounding the amount of moderation that goes on here. You could count on the fingers of one hand the physical acts of moderation that take place in an average week and the majority of those are nothing more than good housekeeping (shifting a thread to a more suitable area of the forum etc). When you factor in that most of those who do the complaining about moderation have never been severely moderated and even fewer of them have actually read the sites ToS and Forum Rules then it does become a bit of a head scratcher for us. The door is always open to anyone who wants to discuss anything they don't agree with, all we ask is that you do it in a constructive manner and through the right channels. We can't read minds, and if something exists which causes you any problems then bring it to our attention and we will discuss it, clarify it and or review it where possible/necessary.

Just been on the phone to Gretna and it would seem they have had a great response to this promotion from ICT fans. Thought I would bump this thread to remind anyone who hasn't sent off the slip yet that they need to get the finger out and get them in the post today to have any chance of them getting there on time.

If I deleted all posts I thought were stupid then you'd not have reached double figures yet :tic01: BCT..many of our fans from the south have found it easier to just relocate North on a permanent basis..hope you make a game sometime soon. Be sure to head for the Innes Bar pre-match where you will be made most welcome.

A bag of wind followed by some tornado activity....it's merely a prediction that IHE may be in attendance. :001:

This Saturday (October 20th), our webhosts have some maintenance work taking place on their systems which will result in some site down time. This is due to take place at around 6am GMT and may last for up to 2 hours. They are replacing hardware which they hope will resolve some of the issues we've been having lately with slowness and unscheduled downtime.

Don't think a draw would have helped our situation anyway Manny.

Scotland went out there with a very rigid game plan and didn't count on the fact that Georgia may have had one of their own and they did. They chased every ball, hounded every one of our players and when they got possession they held on to it and controlled the tempo of the game. They also attacked and defended in numbers and we just couldn't cope with that. The more Georgia did that the more we fell apart. Instead of realising what was happening early doors, easing off and getting some control on the game we kept stubbornly banging our heads against the wall. We were being hammered in the middle of the park, but had no option to play through it because we chose to go with one up front and never had the right players on the field to allow us to make an early change to the formation. Also, did anyone else notice that during the first 45 minutes we played nearly every attack down the left hand side despite having guys open on the right? The number of times I was yelling at the TV for us to switch the ball was unreal.

I'd rather see the club spending money on extending and covering the wings of the Main Stand before they even think about building a full West Stand - Upgrading the North and South Stands and incorporating a gym and bar would be my next priority. What I wouldn't want to see is some half ersed shabby looking West Stand with a dozen rows of seats which would do nothing to improve the ground whatsoever. The remark that the West Stand was built to appease the fans and the Trust is rather interesting. IMO, not only does it come across as condescending, it confirms the suspicion many had that, it was nothing but a gesture to shut up the fans following the grief they were getting as a result of the hassles at the Pars game last season. Also, you can't just throw in seats anywhere and call it a singing section. If you want to improve the atmosphere then you have to have the most vocal supporters at the heart of your fanbase, not cast off into isolation. The moaners who constantly complain about the "noise" do nothing to increase the atmosphere and they do nothing to bring in more supporters....if the club are looking to improve on these things then they need to evaluate their priorities and make some tough decisions, not continue to look for the easy options.

What exactly is going on with the guy in the pics left arm? At first I thought it was just the shadow, but the line is a bit crisp....do you think he ran out of fake tan and hoped he'd be modeling the long sleeved version, or do they just need to have a word with the photo-shopper? :029:
