I've tried to resist the urge to out and out berate any of the "candidates" because I'd like to think that whoever is appointed as manager that we'd all have our say, then get behind the man 100% when the next match comes around. I'll admit that I would find that harder with some of the current candidates, but at the end of the day I am an ICT fan and until such time as any appointment proves unworthy of it, they would get my support. I still want Warnock to get the job though :001:
-
They did, but he couldn't find his woggle.

You don't have to be good at public speaking to have your say. I'm sure their will be people of all minds at the meeting and a clap in agreement of a point raised by another is just as powerful as saying it yourself.

I don't for one minute think Grassa is pissing around doing nothing, but I do think he has to put his hands up and accept a large portion of the responsibility for the position we are in at present. We are just over a week from the close of the Transfer Window and we've lost our manager, a manager who wanted to resign back in January and then again in April, but was convinced by Grassa to stay, despite concerns over his mental state. Had Grassa taken a step back and allowed Charlie to leave on either of those occasions we may still have been sitting bottom of the league after a bad start but we would have had some stability in the team and the new manager would have had a chance to bring in players he wanted. As it stands, we don't have that luxury and we're now faced with 2 options. 1. We rush in a new manager to at least give him a chance at signing a player or two at the back. 2. We take our time over it, risk not bringing in the player/s needed and risk going the first half of the season without sufficient cover at the back. I'm not looking for him to be sacked, what I am looking for is him to stop hiding, grow some balls, fess up to the fans and admit he is accountable - even more so IF he is now a paid Director. As has been said by many on this site before - no one man is bigger than the club - and that includes those upstairs. A player gets pelters for messing up on the park, I don't see why the guys upstairs should be any different.
-
IMO, he may have jeopardised our SPL survival this season, or at the very least cost us a couple of league places....what price would you put on that?
-
Warnock was tipped for the Hearts job at the start of the season and nothing happened.

Even ignoring the last couple of days where the hits have increased significantly the overall average between the start of this season and the start of last is up by 50 to 70%. If this continues we may be pushing the 5 million mark for site hits over the next 12 months. Great news for the site...bad news for our bank balance :015:

Not as expensive as you might think. For the first time that I can remember a ?40,000+ Directors Emolument appeared on the accounts. I don't grudge anyone payment for services, but since day 1 we have been led to believe that the ICT Directors all worked for free and we should be grateful for their service. It would seem this is another change that has occurred at the club recently.

Normally next to him in the Heathmount :015:

He played a part in our pre-season friendly against Keith and I think I am right in saying he had a hand foot in setting up all ICT's goals in the North of Scotland Cup match v Clach where we won 1-4

I can't work it out either LG and the more that comes to light the more baffling it all seems.

Put in a call to a friend who is a bit more savvy on running servers than I and he gave me a couple of recommendations. I've introduced one as a short term fix until our hosts get back to us with a proper answer. This may have caused you all to get booted out and had to log back in, I apologise but it it was a case of short term pain for long term gain (must remember than line I like it lots). Fingers crossed the 500 Internal Server Errors will now have stopped.

ok...so playing Devil's Advocate...If he (Brewster) would be the clubs choice and likely the players favourite. Why aren't the club asking the players and instead asking the fans?
-
The club wanted to show ambition by signing Niculae, if they want to continue that and want the fans to take them serious on it then they have to carry through on that ambition by appointing an experienced and proven manager. As I said above, I think the players have had too much of the kid gloves treatment and it has been showing in their on the pitch performances - too many reports of "lack of interest" for my liking and I don't think Brewster is commanding enough to turn that around. He may get the squad fitter again, but it don't matter how fit you are if your not getting the motivation. Rossco commented himself on Brewsters departure that they were not liking training under Brewster. Not because he worked them hard, but because they weren't allowed to enjoy themselves in any way shape or form on the training ground. You could argue that they aren't there to enjoy themselves, but how many of us get p!ssed off when we don't enjoy our work? In short, I doubt he would be the players choice. For years ICT have lived in the "comfort zone" and I am also of the opinion that this is for the benefit of the "old boys network", and has little to do with the wants/needs of the squad or the fans. They are more worried about being shown up for the amateurs they are if they were to bring in someone experienced.

I'm aware that their seems to be a particular problem this morning and have reported it to our hosting company marked "Urgent". I know they were doing work on other systems (webmail) last night but this shouldn't have had any impact on the site.

Here's hoping his old man makes the trip and takes his camera with him. Well done Dale :021:

It will possibly have been extra slow the last couple of days due to the sheer volume of site visitors. The number of visitors to the site has near trebled since the news about CC broke and the sheer volume of posts is putting extra strain on the database. At one point yesterday we were about a baw-hair from losing the site altogether!!! As for general speed in comparison to other sites, it all depends what other sites you are comparing it too. Many other fans sites are not as "feature rich" as this site. And the "big" sites will be on hardware costing tens to hundreds of times more than we can afford.

No he wasn't. He resigned from Sheffield Utd in May and the team were up here in July. yes he was I remember seeing him. he didn't resign till this may and they came up last july How long does it take you to reply? I removed my post about 15 minutes ago after realising my error :015:

Please...no more of this "lets not consider so and so because they might leave in the future" Your all living with your head up your erse if you believe that Brewster, Robbo, Pele or any other manager is less likely to leave for a better offer at some point in the future. We do not, and it will be a long time before we ever do, have the financial clout to keep any successful manager at the club in the long term. Even Charlie who was seen as a "long-term" and "safe" appointment has called it a day (albeit under different circumstances). Their is no such thing as a sure thing in football, you just have to make the best of what is available when it is available. To pass up on an opportunity like Warnock because we're scared he may leave in the future is ridiculous beyond belief.
-
Warnock was at Sheffield Utd when the stories were going around about David Sutherland and his connections there. I think Charlie and a couple of others also went down there to take a look at the setup, so I think Warnock will have a fair idea of what is involved up here and what he is putting his name forward for.

Taking a slightly different approach to who I think should be appointed I decided to step back and see if I could fathom out what the team needed right now. It didn't take me long to come to the conclusion that our squad seem lost at the moment, they are without a leader and without someone to give them the kick up the erse they need to get them going again. Moving beyond that and looking at what is needed to take the club forward, we need a strong leader, someone who isn't mates with half the guys on the park, who isn't going to get caught up in the trap of showing players too much loyalty and playing them when better options are left on the bench....that is something Pele, Robbo, Brewster and Charlie have all been guilty of at some point or other. Pele brought attractive football to ICT, Robbo brought us a style of football that suited the higher level, Brewster brought fitness and Charlie brought loyalty. I think the time has come for some experience. A manager who has a bit of a track record, can be a leader and isn't afraid to crack heads when they need cracked. Someone who will put fire into the belly of the squad and feed the fans what is needed to get them off their erse, behind the team and a true 12th man. Only one man on the list so far that meets the criteria and that is Warnock. I near fell off my seat when I read that he was interested and as good as told ICT to make him an offer....it doesn't get much better than that IMO, so what the feck are we waiting for?

I see no harm in the meeting. If they want to listen they will, if they have no intention of listening they won't..it's as simple as that. However, I am also of the opinion that the club have become far too detached from the core fan base in recent years and I like the positive signs since Alan Savage came to the chair of attempts to re-establish that connection. On the face of it he seems to have realised that so much has happened in the last couple of seasons to p!ss us (the fans) right off and is attempting to reverse that trend. The above reaction - i.e. "it's a waste of time" - is a product of the detachment that has developed. Had this been a few years ago then the fans would have welcomed the opportunity with open arms as, at that time, we felt we were being listened too. A good example of that is when we were faced with the ground share in order to secure promotion. The club came to the fans, asked what they wanted and acted accordingly. Fans thought that was a great thing for the club to have done and turned up in their droves. I am as cynical as the next person about the reasons for the meeting or what will come out of it, but if we don't give it a go then we'll never know and the club can then continue to dismiss us by saying they gave us the opportunity in the past and we turned it down. In short, regardless of your view/stance then you should if at all possible get your erse down to the stadium tomorrow night if for no other reason than to support the fans voice and ensure we still have that voice should it ever come to a situation when you do have something you want to say.

Ummm...point of note. I know he wasn't/isn't manager but Donald Park came back!!!

Thanks Mee - The secret to a long marriage....tie the knot then feck off to another country...like his style :015: I lmow Robbo and Sutherland had words at the time of his departure, more of a personality clash than anything else I believe. With them not having to work together since Sutherland moved on then I think the rest of the Board may not be so quick to dismiss his return.
