  1. 26th February Aberdeenshire Shield - Quarter-final Lewis Mackinnon TWO goals (Buckie Thistle 3-1 Banks O'Dee)
  2. I'm sorry Snafu, mate! I got the 9 bookings off 'Soccerbase' or 'Soccerway' or Soccer-something, but I admit I'm wrong. This might sound sad and 'anorakish' but I've painfully gone through all the league games and double-checked... and I agree now, it is 6 yellows in the league for Warren! I wish to god I'd not got involved in this thread in the first place! No worries!
  3. Snafu, Again, I haven't mentioned the ICT website. I'm quite sure it's accurate and have never once disputed that or brought into account its integrity. Despite knowing that Warren had 9 bookings, I didn't know that meant a ban. That was my objective when I posted my 'concern' - to find out if anybody knew when/if a suspesion was imminent for Warren. On a side note, regarding my claims that other sites are often not accurate: only last night I had to email the BBC to update the Scottish 3rd Division league table!
  4. Go here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/inverness-caledonian-thistle and click on each player to get card counts I see Ross Draper is one away from suspension and both Shinnie brothers and OTJ are on 4 yellows. Good to see our crime count is much improved from last season. With due respect, I wouldn't give much credence to a website still listing us as having Brislen-Hall and Blackman!! They were part of our first team squad so therefore part of the stats for this season. Maybe you think our club website must be wrong too??. I made no reference to our club website, Snafu. The linked website is BBC, which is notorious for errors.

  6. I apologise to both tm4tj and fraz. In hindsight, my reply to tm4tj was ignorant. I'm sorry for that.
  7. Except he doesn't! - not sure what your point is...?!
  8. Warren has been fantastic since coming to us. Despite what many detractors would have us believe, moving to the SPL from the English Conference is a considerable step-up. He's not looked out of place and is a vital cog in our defence. I'm wondering if anybody knows how the disciplinary system works regarding bookings? I note that Gary is 'sitting' on 9 yellow cards at the moment - with 7 cautions in the SPL. I would hate to suddenly find he's got a one or two match suspension coming up for our crucial games pre-split if he incurred another booking. To be honest, I thought he might have already served a ban for his 9 yellows, but I can't find any up-to-date info about the suspension criteria. As a central defender, he's inevitably going to pick up a few! Especially with two Highland derbies on the horizon! However, 9 bookings in 34 games to date isn't quite in the Ian Black league! Talking of him, he's in the Sun today telling us he's not a bad boy - he likes trout fishing in Inverness! Aye, okay! He's got me, hook, line and sinker!
  9. It's always interesting reading comments from other fans in articles like this or on club forums. It's incredible just how little regard many have for Scottish football!
  10. Yeah, the team's closing in on the 60-goal 'barrier'. Only five times has it been broken by teams outwith the OF. Hearts 71 (2005/06) - Rudi Skacel 16, Paul Hartley 14 Hibernian 64 (2004/05) - Derek Riordan 20, Garry O' Connor 14 Kilmarnock 63 (2005/06) - Kris Boyd 15, Steven Naismith 13 Dundee United 62 (2011/12) - Jon Daly 19, Johnny Russell 9 Hibernian 61 (2005/06) - Derek Riordan 16, Garry O' Connor 11
  11. Good stat Yngwie! I hadn't realised this was a record! Amazing for Billy to get 18 with eleven games to go! To put it in perspective, Adam Rooney's best SPL return was 15!
  12. Saturday 23rd February SPL Iain Vigurs (Ross County 3-0 Motherwell) Highland League Calum Dingwall (Formartine United 3-1 Fraserburgh) English League 1 Adam Rooney (Swindon Town 1-1 Preston North End)
  13. The Daily Express has latched on to this. www.express.co.uk/sport/football/379595/Swindon-Town-want-Terry-Butcher
  14. I absolutely love remembering about how terrible he was, he's playing in the east of Scotland league at the moment I think, can't remember who for though. Vale of Leithen!
  15. An article in the Daily Record regarding Butcher's 'rant', and what clubs in general could be doing to attract the fans. Some good points raised but nothing really new. It would be great having a dedicated club shop of sorts - with a city centre presence. We're a one club city - yet two of our rivals have prominent stores in our city centre. Aye, the ' ugly sisters' have a lot to answer for...and are, frankly, the root of the problem for all clubs bemoaning the lack of supporters turning up.
  16. Saturday 16th February SPL Stuart Armstrong (Celtic 6-2 Dundee United) 1st Division Bryan Prunty TWO goals (Raith Rovers 3-2 Dumbarton) 3rd Division Garry Wood (Montrose 4-1 Elgin City) Highland League Calum Dingwall (Lossiemouth 1-2 Formartine United) English League 1 Barry Robson (Sheffield United 3-0 Colchester United)
  17. It's a very valid point. A place the size of the Granite city, with its catchment area, would certainly expect to be attracting more fans. But look at Edinburgh. The Capital, the central belt location, approx 450,000 population with only 2 senior teams...they should be filling their grounds' modest capacities on a weekly basis. As for our 2,529 gate vs kilmarnock, it should be remembered that the corresponding game in August only attracted 3,000. That was the first home game of the season for us football starved punters. A Saturday 3pm kick off. No other distractions/excuses like Xmas shopping (!) and there was a reasonably healthy Killie support that day. So despite the weather and Champions League in midweek we didn't actually leek many fans at all. Our average this Season at the stadium is on a par with last Season...and, whisper it, commensurate with our debut season in the SPL- with the novelty of Rangers, Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen, Hibs, Dundee United etc coming here on league duty for the first time. Our average attendance across all the seasons in the SPL is around 4400. So yes, we're slightly down on that but other clubs have seen significantly bigger falls. For the record, here's the latest figures for this season. (Taken from the SPL website.) Celtic 45,953 Hearts 13,384 Hibernian 10,693 Aberdeen 10,073 Dundee Utd 7,472 Dundee 6,544 Motherwell 4,889 Kilmarnock 4,864 St Mirren 4,442 Ross County 4,184 Inverness CT 4,017 St Johnstone 3,791
  18. Saturday 9th February 1st Division Bryan Prunty (Livingston 2-3 Dumbarton) 3rd Division Rory McAllister TWO goals (East Stirlingshire 2-4 Peterhead) Ian Black (The Rangers 4-0 Queen’s Park)
  19. Ross Tokely made his debut for Brora today, away at Steve Paterson's Formartine. Brora lost 2-1 and Rosco got booked!
  20. Need to stop the Europe talk. Top 6 has long been the 'Holy Grail' for us and should still be our primary objective.
  21. Well done! You're totally spot on, there! Aye, Marius Nicolae scored vs. Russia in a friendly shortly before the Euro 2008 Championships. Probably helped get him selected for the Romania squad...and he played in those Finals whilst still with us! Richard Hastings got the winner (his solitary Canadian goal) against Mexico in the Gold Cup quarter-finals of 2000. As if beating Celtic 3-1 at Parkhead wasn't enough (both within 2 weeks)! Canada ended up winning the whole thing! Hastings a vital cog. They played in the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2001 as winners of the concacaf region but Hastings was on the bench for all their games! But the fact is: a player from Inverness CaleyThistle played against France and Holland in Euro 2008!!
  22. Yngwie, I've got a Caley Thistle related question: Billy McKay became a Full International player last night, as an Inverness CT player. He didn't manage to get on the scoresheet in his half hour, sadly. However, TWO players on ICT's books at the time, have netted in Internationals for their Country (1 goal each). Who are they??
  23. Russell Duncan and Richard Hastings have been released by Brora Rangers.
