  1. Thanks for your informative report. Good to see Hogg coming through a full 90 mins. And Shane Sutherland grabbing a few goals recently for the U20's will do his confidence good. I believe the U20's have a game at Hearts tomorrow. I'm no manager, but I doubt it would be wise to play Hogg in this one, just 48 hrs after his endeavours on the heavy pitch at Dingwall!
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/scotland/20569486
  3. Tuesday 19th March English League 1 Adam Rooney (Yeovil Town 0-2 Swindon Town)
  4. There are a couple of good match reports for U20 games further back in the forum. Some youth players I can think of are Ryan Christie, Calum Ferguson, Andrew Skinner, Jay Cheyne and Ryan Watson.
  5. A couple from the Highland League Cup yesterday: Lewis MacKinnon (Lossiemouth 2-5 Buckie Thistle) Struan Scott-Woodhouse (Clachnacuddin 5-0 Fort William)
  6. Agree totally with team and subs from Renrgade's post. If we're honest, these are the only 18 players available for the game, apart from Gibbons and possibly Laing!
  7. No, we haven't!! He's scored in 5 matches and we WON in 4 of those. The game we didn't win was the 4-4 draw at Dundee United.
  8. Motherwell have actually beaten us x3 this season, old caley girl! If my arithmetic's right, Caley Thistle could be celebrating a guaranteed Top 6 place on Sunday night.
  9. We could be guaranteed Top 6 by Sunday if results go our way!!!

I agree with bdu98196's post above. Top 6 has long been our aim and to actually realise it would be a massive thing. If County finish higher, then so-be-it. This 'shadow' thing should be confined to the school playground.
  11. From Saturday 9th March SPL Grant Munro (Ross County 3-2 Celtic) Gregory Tade (St. Johnstone 2-0 Kilmarnock) John Rankin SENT OFF for Dundee United 2nd Division Graham Bayne (East Fife 0-1 Arbroath) English League 2 Alex MacDonald (Burton Albion 3-1 Cheltenham Town) Highland League Stuart Golabek (Rothes 1-9 Brora Rangers) Dale Gillespie (Rothes 1-9 Brora Rangers) Andrew Greig (Rothes 1-9 Brora Rangers)
  12. Don't think it's a rumour.....It appears he's been down there and had a medical. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/382648/Andrew-Shinnie-set-to-sign-for-Championshp-strugglers-Birmingham-City Good luck to him. Hope he has more success there than Adam Rooney.
  13. Yes, great players are signing up to stay longer. But...football seems to run differently from any other normal business. Any 'contract' a player signs can easily be 'broken' by another employer coming in and taking them. This euphoria, celebrating players/managers signing deals is ill informed. Just because a certain player has signed until 2015 doesn't mean he'll be playing for the club until then. Money talks, it's that simple. The days of having the same guy at right-back for 6 seasons are long gone. Nowadays its one season mercenaries or loanees. If, Billy McKay got offered the chance to treble his salary at say, Huddersfield, he would go, contracted to Inverness or not. Sorry if this comes over as negative, but I get constantly annoyed at people thinking that footballers' 'contracts' actually mean anything, other than to themselves.
  14. It was 12th April '97 when Inverness clinched their Division 3 Title. Game 32 of 36. It looks very likely The Rangers will easily 'beat' that, probably securing the League later this month.
  15. Thanks for finding that 'feed' and for posting it, tm4tj. Great work. Good score for us that, although I concede that the U20's games aren't really about results - more playing time and rehab for returning players like Hogg. Amusing that the guy tweeting mentioned Polworth and Pepper as 'experienced'! They're both just 18!!!!
  16. Delighted to read that Hogg's playing again!
  17. According to his Twitter, he's got a knee injury.
  18. Saturday 2nd March Division 1 Bryan Prunty (Dumbarton 2-2 Cowdenbeath) Division 3 Stuart Leslie (Elgin City 1-2 Stirling Albion) Highland League Lewis MacKinnon (Buckie Thistle 2-1 Rothes) Highland League Cup 1st Round Daniel Park (Turriff United 1-2 Formartine United) N.B. Brian Kerr sent-off for Arbroath today!
  19. Was about to say the same thing! Classy looking top.
  20. Yeah, that's him. He's one of those 'career directors' who goes from company to company! It's a bit like the business version of football's managerial merry-go-round...same old faces!
  21. Maybe it's just me? I wouldn't swap any of our cup record. I think we have created 12 upsets in 11 years in the lower leagues. Two semis at Hampden plus a replay. Beating Celtic twice. The first time was 10 years before Cownty and it was our first ever season in div 1. More wins at Tynecastle, Fir Park etc. Coming from 3 down to beat Ayr. Reaching the quarters as a div 3 side. Taking DUFC to 210 mins as a div 2 side. Swap all this for what? One cup run beating Hibs and Celtic to reach a final, and then forgetting to turn up. Our cup record is amazing. 12 'shocks' in our time...and only once can I remember us being 'scalped'. Partick Thistle beat us a few years back. So yeah, we should be proud of our cup record! Ayr United in the league cup last season at Summerset. Queens Park at home in the league cup a few years back when we were in the 1st division. I'm not including the League Cup in my assessment, only the Scottish Cup.

  23. Okay, he didn't score, but thought it worth mentioning that Barry Wilson played for Wick last night in their 4-0 win against Clach...not bad for a 41 year old!
  24. Yeah, the first opportunity to be drawn against each other would be the last 16 if the 'country protection' rules remain the same as this year. If you went into a bookie and asked for this wager, they would be delighted to take your money and would offer pathetic odds of around 5000/1.
  25. Ironically, the Dundee United team we face tonight will have more Highland talent in it than County's team!! Gary Mackay-Steven is from Thurso and had a brief trial here, and our former youth player, Stuart Armstrong, is from Inverness!
