  1. Today's game at Hamilton is ICT's 900th competitive fixture in all competitions.
  2. Sneckboy replied to a post in a topic in Caley Thistle
That's a bit of a 'blinkered' attitude, gingerjaggy! I fail to see how looking at players from certain clubs - County in this case - is 'selling ourselves short'. I infer that you think all clubs currently below us are not worth looking at as their players are clearly inferior to what we've got. Football isn't as simple as that. 'Club X' is currently doing better than 'club Y' therefore none of the players at 'club Y' would be good enough for 'club X'. !! Andrew Robertson would still be playing in level 4 if Dundee United had thought that 'scouting' Queen's Park games was beneath them.
  3. I confess, I underestimated John Hughes - but am delighted to admit it! Although we've players to get signed-up, I agree with Kingsmills (from an earlier post) that we should be looking to extend the manager's contract. He's proved his worth. I was a huge Terry Butcher fan but the club will always be bigger than any personality. Here's a table to celebrate both Terry and Yogi's time at the club - and Robbo's, of course! But, Paterson (for me) remains the 'God' for improving our then novice club, year-on-year in the Scottish League. Key: Red = best ever Year = season ending (ie 2004/05 = 2005) Any entry = 'best ever' or equalled 'best ever', at the time New nomenclature used ie (old 3rd Division = League Two)
  4. Yeah, the squad depth is terrific. I read a preview of the game - can't remember which outlet - stating that Tansey and Raven were suspended but Vincent and Watkins had recovered from knocks, so Inverness 'had a full squad to pick from'. It seems that Richie Foran has been out for so long that, incredibly, he seems to have been forgotten about! He'll find it hard to get back in the team, admittedly! Any news on his progress or lack of?
  5. I've been a bit naughty and have been looking at what records we could set this season... Here's a quite extraordinary stat. We're only in January and have played 'just' 22 games of the 38 match program - but, with 14 wins, we've already surpassed the number of wins we achieved (13), when we secured our highest ever league position of 4th! Our highest is 16, so another 3 victories in the remaining 16 matches would set a record. Highest ever points total, fewest goals conceded and best goal-difference are other realistic possibilities. But we mustn't get ahead of ourselves, so stop it!
  6. He is Norwegian.
  7. Stuart Armstrong (St Mirren 1-1 Dundee United)
  8. That's an amazing stat! But, sadly, not quite true! In 96/97 on the way to our first promotion, we had 47 points from 22 games. Damn! But having 44 from 22 games in the top-flight is staggering.
  9. Just realised I only included 10 players in the team listed! Missed out Daniel Devine. Mackay Horner Baptie Brown Devine Polworth Wilson Vincent Blackett Sutherland Christie As PerfICT states, it's quite a strong team - probably the strongest we've fielded in the Development League with 6 players with first-team experience. So, yeah, a poor result - although the scorelines aren't of too much significance.
  10. Half-time Inverness 0-0 Aberdeen Mackay Horner Baptie Brown Polworth Wilson Vincent Blackett Sutherland Christie
  11. I suppose only the club can decide if it was a 'success' or not - we can all form our own opinions. All home SPL/Premiership games v St Johnstone average 3,488 All home league games v St Johnstone average 3,442 All home 'non-Saturday' league games v St Johnstone average 3,300 All home midweek evening-kick-off league games v St Johnstone average 3,390 PWYC experiment 3,161 But I wouldn't be taking these figures to an accountant or Dragon's Den claiming it's a successful business model. Edited to correct formatting.
  12. It's actually more frequent than one would imagine! Aside from last night, our most recent 'card-free' game was last month against Partick. There have been 3 other instances this season including back-to-back games against Motherwell and Celtic in August.
  13. We got 3,000 v St Johnstone the last time we played them on a Tuesday night - full fare! And 3,700 on a £20 Friday fixture! Hate to rock-the-boat but I think we should have been looking at higher than tonight's attendance! Great effort from the club - but the apathy around Inverness is apparent. Fantastic win tonight - made a very decent Perth club look decidedly ordinary!
  14. Oh, I must do my CaleyD thing (re 'small k' in Mckay). Calum Ferguson has one 'ell' (I think)!
  15. He's clearly got something. I'm glad Hughes has intimated that he may be involved at some point this season. I have been 'watching' this tournament - but gave up after the first 2 games when he wasn't involved, However, I know see that he started the 3rd game (of 5 matches) but got hooked at half-time! (then his replacement was on the field for a minute and scored - typical!) It would be good to see him get a game if the circumstances allow.
  16. I agree, bring in Devine ( it's been ages since he's played!) and slot Meekings to right-back. Alternatively, keep our usual pair at the back with Devine at right-back? Less preferred as I seem to remember Devine having a very uncertain game there last season (forgotten the opponents). But I think he's certainly capable at the back. If Watkins is fit, then he should start. Totally agree with your selection, ICTRoughi.
  17. Quite a frost enveloping Inverness - after penetratingly cold overnight temperatures. No sign of any improvement forecast for at least a few days. Currently -6 C on my car's thermometer. (at 10.15am) Any idea what condition the pitch is in? Must be a question mark over this game going ahead? Regardless, as temperatures plunge after dark, it'll be well-below freezing tomorrow night! It's bound to put many folk off attending - despite the offer. As much as I'd like us to 'show up' Dundee United by getting the game on, It's no fun sitting immobile in sub-zero conditions for 2 hours. I hope it's postponed but with the offer still being in place for the re-arranged game.
  18. Angry and annoyed? - absolutely! Although....Arabs' abandonment allows another alcohol assisted afternoon ahead - accompanying aural, airwave, audio action! Aberdeen, Alloa and Ayr all apparently active, although another announcement awaits.... Any alcohol available? Aye Ale, amarettos and absynth!
  19. According to Dundee United, the under soil heating has been on since Thursday morning. As way of appeasement, they've announced that the re-arranged game will be a straight £5 admission for all - but again, that's of little consolation at the moment!
  20. Next game: Wednesday 21 January, 2015 Inverness CT v Aberdeen - Highland Football Academy. 1pm
  21. Aye, commiserations to the fans who've set off to Dundee. Frustrating for everybody, including the players. I've often thought that where one team's travelling significant distance, and there's a question mark over a game going ahead, to err on the side of caution, and postpone the match the night before. But, sometimes that would result in games being off that could have actually been played. Damned if you do...damned if you don't. It's ironic that there's been much talk this week about all-weather pitches! As Kingsmills suggests, it may be no bad thing (the postponement) - it also vindicates Yogi's 'complaint' about the wisdom of the busiest month for clubs being in January! Although, none of that is any consolation for those who've made the trek to the game. At least there's not long until the next match - St Johnstone on Tuesday. Raven's suspension will now be in that game - along with Tansey. A few changes to the usual starting line-up will be needed! Safe journey home to the 'die-hards'.
  22. He's signed for Livingston!
  23. Bryan Gilfillan, has left Peterhead to sign for Airdrieonians.
  24. Bajram Fetai has left Denizilspor in Turkey and moved 'home' to Danish club Roskilde. Is that a young Jackie McNamara in the photo?
