  1. Chris Harvey at the stadium also reporting that Terry took his dog, Fritz along to ground....probably to help fend off the 'dog's abuse' he feared getting!
  2. This is all very interesting! I'd be delighted if my £100 bet on Terry leaving was lost. Mind you - I'd think about taking the BBC to court to recoup my losses for reporting Butcher had agreed terms as a 'fact' - when in reality it was something that was obviously just pure sensationalist conjecture! Actually, I wouldn't bother with the BBC as I'd be too busy opening red wine to celebrate...paid for on my credit card obviously!
  3. It's quite amusing that we look to the Hibs forums for any snippets of information, while the Hibs fans appear to be constantly referencing things they've read on this forum!
  4. Aye, I saw your flag in the ground!
  5. Not sure if this is genuine or photo shopped? Allegedly a screen capture before the article was removed. Hibs.bmp
  6. ^^^ Brilliant analogy....but you must stop reading my diary!
  7. Indian League Claude Gnapka scored yesterday for latest club, Salgaocar.
  8. Sadly, every player has a price and no clauses will change that. Contracts in football mean very little. I got slated on this forum for not entirely joining in the celebrations when Billy signed a new contract! I protested that too many folk were celebrating the 'fact' he would be now definitely be with us for the next 2 seasons. Billy will leave us in the summer - he won't be hanging about here next year. He'll undoubtedly want to move on if Butcher goes! It's the end of an era when Terry leaves. But the start of a new one... Nobody is bigger than the club. We'll all still be on here, typing our thoughts - regardless of who the manager is! We'll all have opinions even if the new boss is SpongeBob SquarePants! He'd do alright! Players? He's got a big pool to dip into! As his name suggests he likes to play it square and 'soak up' the pressure. He'd be 5 Star!!!
  9. Dundee and Dundee United also drawn in home ties! There will have to be a bit of movement in those ties, certainly! But, I think we could 'get away' with Inverness v Morton and Ross County v Hibs on the same day? Nice job for the Transport Police to separate the Leith smack heads from the Greenock coke-brigade outside WH Smiths at the station, as their fans literally **** themselves while fascinating at how next-year's Highland calendars are displayed on things that spin around! WOW! Not stereo-typing here! - go and watch - if you can wade through the 45 litres of pee imposed on the Sunday cleaners.!
  10. gingerjaggy, If you're really a 'qualified journalist', please can I be your proof-reader! I see money!!
  11. I don't need to speak for CB but as far as I'm aware he's not an employee of the BBC. I believe he's a freelance journalist who will occasionally cover events in the North.... A football game perhaps or the Camanachd Cup final, for example. But he has no affiliation to the BBC to my knowledge. I don't know the man, have never even met him - but please stop clutching at straws. Even if CB still worked for the BBC, would that make him culpable for a news story he didn't initiate? - albeit one that's perhaps inaccurate? What next - let's start egging the house and car of 'Heather-the-weather' 'cos she 'used to be BBC'!! There are at least 3 BBC reporters who have 'categorically' stated that Butcher's away - Chic Young, Richard Gordon, Heather Dewar. Not CB!!
  12. Albion Rovers v Motherwell Alloa Athletic v Stirling Albion Annan Athletic or Stenhousemuir v Fraserburgh Ayr United v Dunfermline Athletic Berwick Rangers or Culter v Dumbarton Brechin City v Forfar Athletic Clyde v Auchinleck Talbot or Stranraer Dundee v Raith Rovers Dundee United v Kilmarnock Falkirk v Rangers Hearts v Celtic Inverness Caley Thistle v Morton Partick Thistle v Aberdeen Queen of the South v St. Mirren Ross County v Hibernian St. Johnstone v Livingston
  13. Maybe a mod could clarify something for me please, regarding the number of 'views' a thread gets? Are these unique views, or as I assume, total number of 'hits'? For example, I was on this thread at least 4 times yesterday - would that register as 4 views or would my IP address be recognised as having visited previously, therefore counting as just one view? This thread will pass the significant 10,000 views before too long! But still well short of the 40,000+ of the 'Butcher to Barnsley' thread...plenty of time yet!
  14. There will certainly be no shortage of applicants.
  15. Paddy Power haven't closed their book yet and still have Butcher @ 2/7. I've just stuck £100 on fully expecting the 'odds no longer available' message. A 'free' £28 win but merely a crumb of comfort!
  16. I think this topic can safely be moved from the rumour mill. This is sickeningly all too real. The 'We'll see what happens' line speaks volumes! I understand Terry was scheduled to be part of BTSports panel for the Motherwell v. Hibs game yesterday....but withdrew at short notice. It seems some bookies have closed their books on the Hibs job - sadly, this really looks a formality now.
  17. South Stand fans = underhand West = the road to Northumberland
  18. I've read in a previous thread that Dumbarton (pictured above) is the only away ground you've not been to, IHE! Hope it comes out the hat for you! Mind you, it's a long-shot at this stage of the draw! 61/1 odds against! Looks a nice wee ground next to the 'rock'. I assume that picture wasn't taken at 3pm on a home match day!
  19. The 4th round (the last 32) and is where we enter the competition and the draw is on Tuesday at 12 noon. Held in Aberdeen, their favourite son, Alex Ferguson will be helping to draw the ties. Teams in the hat (with league tier) Aberdeen (1) Albion Rovers (4) Alloa Athletic (2) Annan Athletic or Stenhousemuir (Replay) Auchinleck Talbot or Stranraer (Replay) Ayr United (3) Berwick Rangers or Culter (Replay) Brechin City (3) Celtic (1) Clyde (4) Dumbarton (2) Dundee (2) Dundee United (1) Dunfermline Athletic (3) Falkirk (2) Forfar Athletic (3) Fraserburgh (-) Hearts (1) Hibernian (1) Inverness Caley Thistle (1) Kilmarnock (1) Livingston (2) Morton (2) Motherwell (1) Partick Thistle (1) Queen of the South (2) Raith Rovers (2) Rangers (3) Ross County (1) St. Johnstone (1) St. Mirren (1) Stirling Albion (4) I'd love to see us paired with Fraserburgh. Away(!), as I've never been to The Broch, but any of the 3 clubs from the bottom tier (Albion Rovers, Stirling Albion or Clyde) would be good. Also, being drawn with any of the teams involved in the replays wouldn't be a bad outcome. Don't want a game with any of our Premiership league rivals at this stage!
  20. Let alone this season, the only other Scot in our current squad who has ever scored is Nick Ross!
  21. Although an indication of a team doing well, I don't think any club welcomes interest in their players and manager. Getting someone else in to move us forward is easier said than done. Terry's longevity at the club is part of the reason for the unity and team spirit. Also, many of the players from the lower English leagues are here mainly because of the influence of Butcher. A new boss like David Weir for example just won't have so much appeal. We have to accept that if he goes, as seems increasingly likely now, he'll probably also take Malpas and Marsella with him....and eventually maybe some players like Foran.
  22. The comment "At this moment in time I'm staying here" isn't any endorsement of his intention to remain here. It's valid as of 5pm in his post-match interview. Unfortunately, next week is a different "moment in time"! I expect Hibs to make an approach to our board next week seeking permission to talk to Terry. Meanwhile, the bookies have Butcher as odds-on favourite. Definitely concerned about developments.
  23. I wish I shared your confidence, bughtmaster! It concerns me that no new contract has been signed.
  24. Butcher could kill this speculation stone-dead later today when he's inevitably quizzed about it in his post-match interview. It'll be interesting to hear how he fields the question!
  25. Standing on tables - on a TRAIN? How is that even possible - unless it was a carriage of munchkins!!
