Team for t'other Jags
That's him with 5 bookings now but I think it's 6 before incurring a suspension. I know he's also got 2 cup bookings but I assume these only count towards those competitions. So, I will tentatively say that I think Draper will be okay for the Partick game!

John Hughes
Hughes didn't lead Hibs to 'the best place they have ever finished', caleydawson. They've been Scottish champions a few times in the past. But, even taking just 'recent' history - the SPL era, both Tony Mowbray and Alex McLeish had Hibernian finishing higher than Hughes managed.

Contract Situation
I must admit, I don't really know what a 'one year option' means! I've seen the 'term' used but I'm baffled. As you pointed out, Ben Greenhalgh and a few others have this 'clause' but to me it seems strange. Surely, 'clause' or not, if the player on a one-year-deal didn't look like having a future at the club, they'd be moved on? And, similarly, a player on a one-year-deal who didn't have the 'clause', but who'd showed up well, would likely be offered an extended deal. The 'clause' seems superfluous! But, I'm maybe missing an obvious point! Anyway, the only Claus I understand at the moment is the Santa one. But last week I was informed he didn't exist so I really don't know what to make of it all.

Contract Situation
Good find Renegade. Yeah, Watkins signed for 2 years. I think that means he's here until the end of 2014/15 season. The above list is still accurate until anything else is discovered!

Butcher for Cardiff?
I wonder if they could be looking at Neil Lennon? I think he'd be very tempted if an approach was made.

Aberdeen
Hopefully the last minute xmas shopping won't have a detrimental effect on the crowd. The later kick-off might help. Hopefully hit the 5,000 mark.

It also features the richest game in football (or any sport), the Championship play-off final!

Mulled Wine & Mince Pies with the Manager
Sounds like a really worthwhile, successful night. Great initiative from the club/Hughes. Yeah, I know a Dons fan who has been going on about 2nd place for months. I really hope McIness gets linked with being lured away to WBA and the Dons suffer the uncertainty and upheaval we had to go through before Butcher went. That period saw our only downturn this season.

Clean sheets
I think these are our best 'clean sheet' records and minutes without conceding. 2010 Inverness 3-1 Queen of the South (29 minutes of 'shut-out') Inverness 1-0 Morton (90) Ross County 0-0 Inverness (90) Inverness 4-0 Airdrie United (90) Partick Thistle 0-1 Inverness (90) Inverness 3-0 Ross County (90) Inverness 4-3 Raith Rovers (11) 29+90+90+90+90+90+11 = 490 2006 Livingston 2-1 Inverness (9) Motherwell 0-1 Inverness (90) Inverness 1-0 Dundee United (90) Livingston 0-1 Inverness (90) Inverness 2-0 Falkirk (90) Dunfermline Athletic 0-1 Inverness (90) Inverness 1-2 St. Mirren (54) 9+90+90+90+90+90+54 = 513 2013 Inverness 2-1 Kilmarnock (14) Hibernian 0-2 Inverness (90) Inverness 1-0 St. Johnstone (90) St. Mirren 0-0 Inverness (90) Inverness 4-0 Morton (90) Hearts 0-2 Inverness (90) 14+90+90+90+90+90 = 464

Clean sheets
Yeah, we had 18 clean sheets in 36 games that season! Had a spell of 490 minutes without conceding.

Steve Clarke sacked
I look at Celtic as the classic example of how money is king in football. They're considerably well behind Europe's best but equally way-ahead of their Scottish rivals. He admits that his club can't possibly compete in Europe at the very top level as clubs like Barcelona have a wage bill of £250million as opposed to Celtic's £35million. However, our wage bill is only £1.2million (?) so we're doing incredibly well and will always be well ahead of Celtic in terms of money paid per point gained.

Views and news on a few players
I've decided to not mention the 'E' word (Europe) this season after thinking it was almost a cert at the 'split' last season! It just set me up for a massive deflated fall as the wheels came off in the post-split games! It's maybe too early yet despite us having a fantastic season and being beautifully placed in all three competitions. But it's feasible we could have our best ever season and not qualify for Europe! I'm happy to progress domestically and if Europe materialises as a result, then that's a bonus!

Clean sheets
If my arithmetic is correct, we need to shut-out Aberdeen for the first-half and the first 5 minutes of the second-half to set a new club record of minutes played without conceding.

The new manager thread
I was one of those opposed to him getting the job here. In saying that, But I'm glad he's got a job back in Scottish football, just glad it's not with us!

Make sure you tell him we would try a single 'Hughes', but weren't wanting the 'Hughes' with Rice.

Celtics fans reputation in tatters
Totally agree! How is it possible to 'support' more than one team at a time? It's illogical! The most anyone can support a team is 100%. That's a fact. If you have 'an English team' that's fine. But then you can't claim to be 100% behind ICT. There was a great 'catch-line' SKY Sports ran a few years ago aimed at youngsters regarding supporting a team - along the lines of, 'think carefully before you choose' because you'll never change when you become ingrained with your club! well, proper football fans don't never change allegiance! You're with a team for life. It's in your blood. Usually ingrained through family or upbringing. Changing colours is a crime! Particularly as it's usually always to teams currently doing well. Glory hunting, is the term! A team is more sacred than MARRIAGE! Hardcore fans stick with their team, regardless of their personal life. Marriages may come and go, but their team stays the same! Blokes will go through more marriages than teams! And folk laughed when Shankly said Football was more important than life or death! Anybody raving going on about their English team.....aaaagh!!! How? They are a football club who will be rivals to us if we meet. They'll have their own supporters. Why would you support the opposition? You can't be 100% for one team and a supporter of another. The arithmetic and logic dictates it's impossible.

Celtics fans reputation in tatters
I'm sick of hearing Celtic's claim as having 'the best support in the world'! What does it actually mean? A club has its support and that's that. No one support is 'better' than another. Having more supporters doesn't naturally make that club's support better than any another! Perceived 'atmosphere' at grounds is also a poor gauge as again, that's usually down to the number of fans in attendance. How about arrests made at grounds? Don't think Celtic would fare so well on that count! But again, they've so many fans that there's obviously going to be more fans 'lifted'. A Man Utd supporter from Belfast who travels to Old Trafford once a season for his routine visit to 'keep-up' the pretence of being a fan is surely not a better supporter than an Aberdeen based Inverness CT fan who makes the trip home very second week to follow his team! There's simply no such thing as 'the best supporters'. Indeed, I've more time for guy who supports only one team, whether it be Wick, Montrose or Dunfermline than a bloke who has sympathies for Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona and the obligatory 'wee' team, like Watford! These folk, for me aren't real football fans!
