  1. This happens all the time - all clubs 'play the system' to meet their own ends. Immediately after our defeat by Dundee United, It was strongly suggested that we'd be looking to get at least one of the decisions rescinded. However, after the dust settled, and with the possible implications of appealing evident, we opted not to challenge the sendings-off, there-by enabling Watkins and Tansey to remain eligible for the League Cup Final. Sorry, Big G, there's no conspiracy theory here.
  2. Update for all games played this season (33) 3 games finished 0-0, so obviously no first goal. We score first win 16 draw 3 lose 0 They score first win 0 draw 2 lose 9 Although a cliché, the first goal really does seem to be so significant to the eventual outcome!
  3. I like that! A good sound, with shades of Del Amiti meets Big Country!
  4. We might just see a spike in our ticket sales this week after all! To think you could be sitting next to a Dons fan at the game...ask the person next to you an ICT trivia question that Caley Thistle fans would know - like 'What's the name of the street the ICT Social Club's on?' (Greig Street) - If they get it wrong, alert the stewards and have them ejected!
  5. Game tomorrow at St. Mirren. 1.30pm.
  6. Bad result? It's the worst home result in our history! And we're lucky it wasn't more than 5-0. United were playing-out time for the last half-hour. I definitely think there was one eye on the League Cup Final. Many fans have been just as 'guilty'. Too much nonsense about flags and songs and using the Scottish Cup quarter-final as a 'rehearsal' (!!), not to mention calls for players to 'visit schools and Tesco' in the week of a huge game! Dundee United will have been aware of this naivety.
  7. These days, 'gutted' is too often trotted-out as the over-riding emotion after a set-back - but I can't think of another word right now to describe how I feel after that 'get-out-of-jail' decision that keeps the Ibrox team in the Scottish Cup! I was genuinely feeling that Albion Rovers were going to hold-out for a sensational win. Getting a draw is still magnificent, but it could have been so much better. As Kingsmills observes, the 'equaliser' shouldn't have been given. In a low-profile, bread-and-butter game like a League Two, East Stirlingshire v. Albion Rovers match, it would have been ruled-out for a foul on the 'keeper - no question. Mohsni clattered the goalie into the back of the net! If he'd done the same to an opposing player going-up for a header in the centre-circle it would have been a foul. Disgusted! However, plaudits to Rovers; their manager sounds like a guy you'd run through brick walls for. He comes across as motivational, upbeat and articulate.
  8. Scottish Cup – Quarter-final Adam Rooney (Aberdeen 1-0 Dumbarton) Championship Philip Roberts SENT OFF (Falkirk 1-1 Livingston) League Two Jamie Duff SENT OFF (Elgin City 2-3 Peterhead) Shane Sutherland (Elgin City 2-3 Peterhead) Rory McAllister TWO GOALS (Elgin City 2-3 Peterhead) Highland League Ross Tokely (Brora Rangers 2-0 Turriff United)
  9. Main stand. He sits on the woof.
  10. Photographs can be deceptive, but blimey, if they're 9 metres 'across', that blue chair at the back must be 3 metres wide!
  11. 'Their cup final' was the Scottish Cup. If we get there, we'll certainly mobilise more fans than for this game.
  12. It must be near the bit where Queen of the South famously get a mention! Erroneously, often described as 'The only football team mentioned in the bible', but Hearts, Wolves, Corinthians and Arsenal are also in there, amongst others!
  13. If there was a ground webcam, we could have a 'butchers'! That can be added to the list of 'Where's the clock? / big-screen? / scoreboard?' !!
  14. Remarkably, to think if this game had been held at Hampden, it would be getting close to a sell-out! Certainly, 90% capacity!
  15. That wouldn't be out of place on the inside cover of the much anticipated CD-single, 'The Red and the Blue'!
  16. I agree with DoofersDad about the importance of Sunday's tie against Dundee United. It tends to have been reduced to a routine sideshow due to preoccupation with the League Cup final and how many tickets we've sold. We've very important games between then and now. This season's Scottish Cup affords us a realistic chance of going all the way to the Final. Not convinced the League Cup final is the biggest game in our history - although I'd agree it's certainly our most high profile. Although a matter of opinion, I'd argue our Scottish Cup semi-finals were bigger games and certainly the crucial final game of last season in Dingwall where it was in our hands to secure 3rd place in the SPL and a guaranteed European spot.
  17. Be fascinating to see if you get a response, GoldenDelicious! Using a very unscientific method based on assumption and ratios, there could well be roughly 10 ex-Pat ICT fans in Sydney. UK population 63,000,000, Inverness 63,000 (1 in 1000 are Invernessians) Estimated UK diaspora population in Australia = 1,300,000 (1,300 Invernessians) Population of Sydney (3,500,000) relative to Australia (23,500,000) = apprx 15% 15% of the 1,300 Invernessians = 195 in Sydney With ICT's average home support being around 1 in 20 of the population of Inverness, 1/20 of 195 = 10. Just a rough 'ball park' guesstimate! Good luck tracking them down!
  18. Draper's suspended for this one...
  19. I think that was just a one off. It's back to Saturday this year.
  20. We get bigger crowds and more cash at home to Ross County than say Livi, Dumbarton, Hamilton or Falkirk So, yes I want County to stay up! It's also a message to the MSM that Highland football is alive and kicking! Not ONE but TWO Highland teams in the top league!
  21. Anybody who wants to attend this game can do so. It's really that simple. Parkhead is the 2nd biggest football ground in Britain. There will be 20,000 empty seats.
  22. That's uncanny. Just 20 minutes ago I was reading on a snooker forum that next months snooker World Championships at the Crucible have yet to secure a sponsor. One poster mentioned that they'll likely secure a deal with an obscure on-line betting company, and another commented "as long as it's not Pukka Pies" again ! They sponsored the UK Championships in 2009 and the announcer boomed over the microphone, The NEW Pukka Pies UK snooker Champion is Ding Junhui! He won his weight in pies and donated the 276 Pukka Pies to a homeless charity!
  23. League Two Rory McAllister (Peterhead 3-1 Annan Athletic) Highland League Martin Laing (Clachnacuddin 4-0 Fort William) Struan Scott-Woodhouse (Clachnacuddin 4-0 Fort William)
  24. It was probably a convoy of caravans...!
  25. Apologies for my incorrect assumption - I may have misinterpreted the following article. A lot of the legalities are a little 'over-my-head'! http://ictsupporterstrust.co.uk/news/trust-news/212-stadium-ownership
