The new manager thread
He (Levein) remains the bookies favourite but is drifting in the odds. I think he'd be a satisfactory choice although not my favourite. He spoke a lot of unrealistic nonsense about our World Cup qualification chances when managing the Scotland team. In a horrendous group with Belgium. Macedonia, Serbia, Wales and Croatia he thought it wise to state that, not only would we top the group and qualify, but that we would win all 10 games!!! And this tripe from the man who feels it viable to go for a 4-6-0 formation! I disliked him as a Scotland boss - he's a Glasgow media darling whose reputation far outdoes his ability. But he's undeniably a high profile candidate and will certainly be short-listed for the job - probably interviewed, but not a certainty to get it.... Jimmy Calderwood for me.

Contract Situation
You're correct - well, partly. It was a one year deal. Will update the chart accordingly! But you were wholly wrong. Yes I was. One small oversight in a database of 32 players - it's a fluid chart and will need constant updating, not necessarily by me. What you got 'wholly wrong' was your insistence that Butcher was staying! Too much time on photoshop I reckon, IHE, looking for the next cheap caption for your fan-club to salivate over.

Brill signs permanent deal
Yeah, it's been corrected on the website to 2-and-a-half years. Hopefully will be the first of a few extended contracts getting signed!

Brill signs permanent deal
That's a real tonic! Great news and a mark of intent. The report says he'll be here until end of season 2016 but the chairman is quoted as saying a 3-and-a half year deal....but that would take him up to summer 2017? I think it's more likely 2016. That makes Brill and Doran two long-term deals sorted-out.

League Cup Semi Final Draw - Hearts!
I'd forgotten that the dates, times and venues hadn't been announced yet, what with all the distractions this past week! (MOT, dentist, Mum's Birthday etc.) But in all seriousness, Easter Road again - in Hearts' back-garden effectively. What's worse though is this time it's not a Saturday afternoon but 12.15 on a Sunday! For a team whose fans travel from Inverness!! The authorities really don't give a monkeys about us. Can you imagine the uproar if Hearts were made to play at Dingwall against us at 12.15 on the Sunday? Very hypothetical, because it simply wouldn't be entertained.

Butcher's best and worst signings.
Phil Roberts gets such a bad press due mainly to his missed penalty at Easter Road. However, I urge you to check out the goal he scored a couple of weeks ago. For those who haven't seen it, he picked the ball up on the left touchline - no threat apparent, but he cuts across the park and unleashes a screamer! It's here, uploaded by RiG. Post #295

They've (Hearts) played their recent U20's games in Newtongrange, at the juniors ground.

Butcher offski?
Why does everybody 'suck-up' to IHE? Anything he posts, regardless of how profound or speculative seems to be met with overwhelming approval. He could post a picture of a tin of Heinz beans and submit a random caption of 'Butcher's last meal' or some utter drivel and get around a dozen 'likes'!!!

That's quite an astonishing revelation, Mahonio. I really hadn't thought about that. Thurso has a golf club!

The new manager thread
A huge difference in opinion regardless of the names mentioned! There will be a lot of fans p***ed off at the appointment - whoever it may be! It really is the end of an era. Hopefully, whoever gets the job gets the backing of our fans!

Butcher offski?
I asked this question earlier - got very informative answers - it's effectively the number of hits. Loads of 'outsiders' like Hibs fans have been on - We've even got new members who couldn't 'bite their tongue' any longer! But, I reckon responses is a better indicator of thread relevance - putting this one 4th at present.
-
Butcher offski?
Pages accumulated doesn't necessarily reflect the true picture of interest in a thread, due to 'multi-quotes' taking up space, buI know you're aware of that, Yngwie, and you weren't claiming it was. But, yeah, it's surpassed the legendary 'Butcher to Barnsley' thread! It's is now the 2nd most viewed thread ever and 4th most contributed-to thread in ICTonline history!! And I think there's more to come! At this time: 5pm, 8th November 2013, the top lists are: VIEWS: 1. Wilson: "Bring Back Robbo" 2. Butcher offski? CONTRIBUTIONS: 1. Rangers go into administration 2. Butcher to Barnsley? Terry stays put*** 3. Merger Talk 4. Butcher offski?

Butcher offski?
This is getting ridiculous! No statements - nothing! And we're playing the 'encroaching' club Hibs, in what's now literally a few hours, makes this totally farcical. Regardless of the outcome, neither camp has come out of this looking particularly clever.

The new manager thread
Too soon for Barry Wilson, I feel. I imagine he has designs on the ICT job in the future, however. A 'natural' stepping-stone for him would be going into the SPFL first with Elgin City and then, if he does well, look to go higher - then it could be us!

The new manager thread
I gave you a 'like' there when I saw a list of odds before I had the chance to digest them! So I 'unliked' it - but have now 're-liked' it 'cos it gave me a laugh! No odds available yet - I've been hunting. I can't see there being a book opened until Terry's officially gone - some bookies still offering 'Next Hibs Manager' odds. Coral 1/7 - I've stuck £46 on as that's all I've left in that account - like to think I've (for once) caught the bookies napping! I genuinely hope I lose my bets though. Gutted at the developments.
