  1. Coach at Falkirk, then became assistant before becoming manager of Trinidad and Tobago, and is now assistant manager at Boavista. That's not a bad CV. Certainly looks like there's more to him than just the fact he was a great player, and there's also that flamboyant side to him, which I personally like!
  2. I see Rory Fallon is being released by St Johnstone. There was a time just after the World Cup where I'd have taken him, but he was pretty poor at Aberdeen, before being supposedly horrifically bad in Perth! I wonder if that's who Hughes is talking about.
  3. Seemingly Hughes (and Brian Rice), used to go down for matches in England quite regularly themselves looking for players when they were at Falkirk. I wonder if they'll be doing that here? I heard somewhere as well that Hughes was at Tannadice the other day watching our upcoming opposition. I don't remember Butcher or Malpas ever doing that, unless it went unreported of course.
  4. I like the bit about how Mckay and Doran are one of the most feared attacks in Northern Europe!
  5. Did we not try and sign Dean Shiels years ago? I'm sure it was when Charlie Christie was manager and he was at Hibs.
  6. I think you'll find that most people are less frustrated about Williams' own ability and are more so on the fact that he's being played out of position and is clearly not suited to it.
  7. I've stolen it back from Sneckboy! Signed up until the end of season 2016-17: • Richie Foran Signed up until the end of season 2015-16: • John Hughes • Dean Brill • Aaron Doran • Ryan Esson • Danny Williams • Carl Tremarco (we think) Signed up until the end of next season (2014-15): • Liam Polworth • Josh Meekings • David Raven • Billy McKay • Graeme Shinnie • Marley Watkins • Nick Ross • Daniel Devine • Ryan Christie • Gary Warren Signed up until the end of this season (2013-14): • Cameron Mackay (On loan at Clachnacuddin until mid-January 2014) • Calum Ferguson • Ross Draper • Calum Howarth • Jay Cheyne • Adam Evans • Jason Brown • Matthew Cooper • Nick Draper • Ben Greenhalgh • Joe Gorman • Conor Pepper • James Vincent • Alasdair Sutherland Left the Building: • Torbjørn Agdestein • Curtis Allen • Harry Hooman
  8. Sadly yes. And even when (as you may remember a few months ago), the building it was part of went on fire (that hostel place across from the Eastgate), it re-opened somewhere else!
  9. Doesn't say anywhere from what I've seen, about how long Tremarco's deal is. Considering his house-hunting comments though, suggests that it's a fairly longer one. Wouldn't at all be surprised if it's two years. Watkins is already signed until the end of next season I believe, so I shouldn't think that there'd be much news on him for a while.
  10. "Northern" players from the side we won Division One with in 2004 were (including subs) - Ross Tokely Michael Fraser Richie Hart Grant Munro Stuart Golabek Charlie Christie Liam Keogh Russell Duncan Roy McBain Darren Mackie (came in on loan for a while) An all-Scottish team with a good chunk of it being northern players.
  11. Is Raven's wife not due to have a baby very soon? I'm sure I heard that somewhere. I seem to recollect Phil McGuire scoring once and then not playing the following week for similar reasons.
  12. As mentioned in the banner, Draper is suspended for this one I believe, while Marley Watkins should be back. With that in mind, I'd go with - Brill Raven Warren Meekings Shinnie Polworth Ross Watkins Doran Greenhalgh Mckay Subs - Esson, Tremarco, Christie, Williams, Pepper, Devine, Agdestein* * Should Toby have left the building by then, bring Evans onto the bench.
  13. Seemingly County are after Eremenko. He'd be a great signing for us IMO, might be a bit expensive though...
  14. A final in a tight venue like Tynecastle would be excellente!
  15. I think I'd rather Duncan Shearer keeping his current job and Barry Wilson as the new assistant to be honest.
  16. Possibly, but I think it'll come down to the manner should we lose. If we lose 3-2 and go down fighting, I think most people would be more understanding. If it's a 7-0 humping though, this place'll go into meltdown!
  17. As you say, it's just the name they've taken. For one, they play in light blue I believe, while the real Citadel played in maroon.
  18. I think the thing was, as a single entity Butcher and Malpas did very well at Motherwell in some very difficult circumstances. It was only apart that the two became a menace. I can't believe the issue of the assistant was talked about during the interview process, particularly has Hughes's main right hand man Brian Rice, is currently in a sticky situation in Qatar (what's Eddie May doing with himself just now by the way?). Talk on here recently that the likely new assistant is Duncan Shearer (he is down in the programme as such), but he doesn't want the job, which would come as no surprise to me at all. That's the last thing we need - a manager no-one wanted and an assistant who doesn't want to be there!
  19. Inverness United, along with Inverness FC, City etc. have all been explored (and in one case voted on 'City' in 2000, as was a suggestion in 1993/94 of 'Inverness Caledonian FC') at different times, but have always either been already in use/used, or voted down. The City name has also since been taken. To be honest, I'd be horrified if the name was to be changed. I think our name's great and unique and I certainly wouldn't want to go to some generic City, United, Rovers type of thing. Anyone petty enough not to come because they don't like the fact that former team X is involved, are not worthy of a huge re-branding, particularly as these people may well longer be with us in the next decade or so. One thing I would like to see more of though, is a more equal representation of Caley and Thistle, instead of this Caley and a little bit of Thistle thing that we seem to have now. This is also one of the reasons I've always supported a change to a constant red and blue striped jersey (and also because I think it looks cool!). I would also like to see some nod to the two 'forgotten teams' in ICT's DNA, Crown FC and Inverness Union FC, who I'm sure some people on here won't even know existed, as well as possibly a nod to Inverness Citadel, who's part of town we play in.
  20. What about Michael Gardyne? I know he is/was away on loan at Kilmarnock, but he was very good at Ross County in the First Division. Could he be the type of players who could revitalise his career at a team like ours?
  21. HT - Motherwell 1-0 ICT FT - Motherwell 4-0 ICT Motherwell 1st scorer - Sutton ICT 1st scorer - Mckay Time of 1st Goal - 34 Number of Corners - 5
  22. Looks like he's going to stay at Motherwell, which should come as a surprise to no-one.
  23. IIRC one of the newspapers during the managerial saga said essentially that. Hartley was all ready to go, but Cameron changed his mind and switched to Hughes at the eleventh hour.
  24. Foran's being missed, there's no doubt about that, but not having him there is no reason for the players to be so unmotivated though. They didn't look particularly up for it yesterday and haven't really done so since the second half of the Aberdeen game. I haven't seen the heads drop after going a goal down yesterday like that since the Brewster days.
  25. Having a lack of leadership on the park is one thing, but it's the job of the management to motivate the players, whether Foran's in there or not. His absence is no excuse.
