Well, how good this Meekings is, remains to be seen, but if he is signed then one would presume that that would be the end of signings for the central half position, with only Tokely as an experienced and established player there. I don't think that is a particularly ideal situation and certainly not one that would merit the removal of Munro. We can all hope that Aldred and Meekings are up to task, but if they aren't, there could be trouble.

I think Butcher would go Hibs in a second. According to an "ICT fan" on Hibs.net, he applied for the Motherwell job and knows that for "fact". Of course I have no idea of whether that's true, but the poster then goes on stay that he'd like Malpas to take over at ICT - so I suppose his mental state isn't very good!

Don't know, the defence looks potentially a bit flimsy as Proctor ain't much good and Aldred is as of yet an unknown package. The midfield is far too lightweight and Tade up front could be great or could be rubbish (or both!). This is one of the most important periods in Butcher's time as boss I reckon. It's a risk - if he gets it right, he and the club could have a good season - if he gets it wrong then it'll be bye bye Butcher and maybe even to the SPL.

I'm confused. How does this "mafia" relate to Craig Thomson? Were the two girls who were the recipients of Thomson's proposals and photos in on this as well? Are they involved in the shady goings on in the Edinburgh ganglands? Are they involved in a plot in the re-establishment of the former Soviet Union? How does this involve Hearts? Have they covered up other goings on by their players? How does this involve Ian Black? How does this involve Gary O'Conner? Are these mafia men involved in other plots? Did they kill Kennedy? This poster says . And here's another question. What does this statement mean? "The task of the club is to tear these kids out of hands of criminals." What criminals? What kids? Whose hands? What about the kids Thomson could have had in his hands? It's all a bit of a mystery.

I had a look at the photo in the Highland News today and you can just see who this other trialist is. This mysterious number 25 is at the front and seems to be quite a big broad guy with Tade running just behind him. To their left you can just make another smaller black guy who one can only presume is the other un-named English trialist. Quite a small bloke from the looks of thinks and doesn't look like a defender, more a further forward player. Also, according to Football Manager Ciani (if it is him) has played six times for Guadalupe, scoring one goal. Just thought I'd share that with you.

I see in the P&J today Butcher says that ICT will have to go with a much younger and less experienced squad next season due to financial constraints. That just makes the reasoning to get rid of Duncan and Munro even more baffling.

I think this is all a big deal over nothing. Olympic football isn't a big deal and most of the time it's utter garbage, full of players you've never heard of. I don't think "Team GB" will have any influence on whether the Scotland, Wales etc teams survive and when the British team was on the go before (managed by Matt Busuby I may add), nothing changed. I don't think it will change anything this time either. Much a-do about nothing if you ask me.

According to the latest odds, ICT are 6-1 to go down, but are ahead of the likes of St Mirren, Dunfermline and Kilmarnock. So do think ICT will stay up next season? This poster says yes.

I won't surprised if he survives at Hearts actually. Remember this is the team that signed Rix as manager not that long ago really and still seem to have taken no action against Black and the other one.

Well, going by the main bit of the kit you can see in the photo it's plain white. Of course until I see the whole thing (why's it stuck on that pizza box?!) I can't totally comment but if it is just a white kit than I'll be disappointed. Does no-one at Errea have any imagination? Plain white is just boring.

Nah, I think that's a bit of an apples and oranges scenario. Barrowman was given a longish contract and was totally unproven at SPL level. Players like Gillet, Tokely and the gang have proven themselves to be good SPL players and should thus warrant a longer deal.

Really irritates me when people try and imply that those who disagree with their view, or simply question the actions of the club they support are somehow less of a supporter than they are. (BTW I'm delighted Tokely is staying)

I seem to recollect last season the opening day fixtures seem to filter out a few days before they were due to be announced, due to Sky and ESPN needing to arrange TV coverage for them.
