  1. As I put in the other thread, the BBC are reporting that Billy McKay has signed a new two year deal, while Thomas Piermayr has left to move to Germany. I see the story on the official site also says that Butcher has agreed to give Tokely, Gillet and Jones more time to decide.
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/18292747 Going by that news then, Billy McKay has signed a two year deal while Piermayr has decided to leave. I would have liked to have seen him sign for another season myself.
  3. With Tade gone, Hayes as good as gone and ICT looking weaker and weaker for next season as time goes on, all we need to hear now is that Butcher's resigned, Malpas has taken over and that will be relegation confirmed!
  4. A strange move by Tade and I'm surprised at him.
  5. Had a look on AFC Chat earlier. The amount of people that think Hayes's Twitter account is a fake is hilarious!
  6. The only time I've ever heard the term "stopper" mentioned is when people are talking about old-time centre backs. Stoppers were defenders who'd go to a man and try and stop him playing (Jack Charlton for example). Most would then have a sweeper in behind for cover.
  7. In regards to Fifa and Uefa, so much for stamping out racism. They've given the World Cup to Russia and they're no better than Poland or the Ukraine!
  8. It's no different from giving a view on a team you don't support IMO.
  9. One of those wins was a friendly against the Faroes and two of them were against Liechtenstein, the first of was a dreadful performance that was won totally un-deservedly and by complete luck. Levein's comments afterwards also didn't endear him much. Looking back it's a shame Scotland didn't get beat that day as he would've probably been sacked and rightly so. It was the 4-6-0 that lost it for me though. No manager should set up a team to fail like that and I would've sacked him for that. I'm Scottish yes, but not really of the patriotic flagwaving type. Nothing much to be proud of and little to get excited about for me I'm afraid.
  10. Not that site again...........
  11. There's really no good Scottish managers out there that would take the job I reckon. An inevitable track down the foreign root would be the best bet IMO. Lagerback wanted the job before, would he leave Iceland to come here? Maybe, and he has a proven record an international level. Egil Olsen is maybe another one who might be available soon. It wouldn't be pretty, but this is another with a good international record, particularly when he got Norway to second in the world ranking in the late 90s!
  12. Nowt much to be proud of I'm afraid. There's no chance of the Scotland team playing in a major finals any time soon I reckon and the longer the clown that is Levein is there, the more likely that will remain.
  13. You don't say! Scotland are rubbish. That is all.
  14. I wonder if the club would consider asking some of the Olympic football teams if they wish to come for a friendly in the run-up to their competition. As we all know, some of the games are taking place at Hampden (one of whom is Spain), perhaps with some teams wanting to put in some practice before the tournament begins. This could get the ICT players involved in a different kind of friendly and would be a nice spectacle for the fans. I seem to recollect England doing something like this with the South African team Platinum Stars before the last World Cup.
  15. I wouldn't class it as a conspiracy theory. In my view, it's more like a quite probable plan by Butcher to save his skin. He is the master of PR and spin after all. Morais was offered a new deal after relegation but turned it down to sign for St Johnstone. Black was already gone (he didn't like Brewster when he signed the pre-contract remember) and Mihadjuks was on loan. On Duncan, from what I have heard it's not a case of Duncan losing his place, it's more a simple case of Butcher not rating him. And If you look back to when Butcher came in, Duncan was gone straight away with a number of replacements (Kerr, Stratford and others) brought in to fill that role. That's why he was not offered a new deal.
  16. If you read what the Stevenage website actually says, it says that Tansey has moved back south (ie - south of the border to England). It then says Byrom is moving in the "opposite direction" (ie - north not south) and will "return to the north" (he's previously played for Blackburn, Southport and Accrington Stanley, all of whom are in the north of England!). If he's going anywhere, it looks like he'll be looking for a club in that region and not coming here I'm afraid.
  17. That's really bizarre. I read the Stevenage article that said Byrom was "heading north". I was going to put his name in the potential signings thread!
  18. I'm not really that fussed to be honest. Flattered to deceive a lot of time and can be easily replaced. Nick Ross and Andrew Shinnie to name just two are players in the squad who for my money are the better ball players.
  19. More of your "everythings just dandy" stuff. I'll express my view of things how I like. If you don't like that, I don't care.
  20. The question is here, where do you draw the line? There was no outrage on here when ICT signed convicted wife-beater Phil McGuire or what about convicted assaulter Richie Foran? I'm not saying what they did was as bad as McCormick (though McGuire's in-particular was horrendously vicious and supposed done in front of their two children), but where do you draw the line?
  21. It's pretty obvious what's going on here. I've heard from a few places that Butcher's wanted rid of Tokely for a long time and had he had his way, he would've punted him out the door along with Munro and Duncan. What Butcher's trying to do here is simple - he's going to offer Tokely a deal he knows he'll refuse. Then when the deadline is up, Tokely is gone and Butcher can say that it was own fault he's away. Of course, we all know why. If Tokely is offered a rubbish and refuses it and the fans react badly, Butcher can say it was his choice to leave, thus saving Butcher any flack (and damage to his ego), obviously in reaction to what happened with the Grant Munro saga. It's basically the same thing again, just in a different way.
  22. It's a funny one. Butcher said the other week that he'd discuss the new deal with Jones after he was back from his holiday. That might be a month away for all we know!
  23. You can not moan about it if you like, but you can't try and tell me that Foran's supposed "passion" benefits the team whatsoever.
  24. With all this talk about new players, I had a look up whatever happened to Liam Molesworth (for those who don't remember, he was a cocky little striker that came on trial, apparently thought he was amazing, played one game with the U19s, scored in said game, but was deemed not good enough and not offered a deal). I see he's now playing for Cove FC in the South Australian League. That's basically the third tier of the Adelaide suburbs! He must've been rubbish!
