  1. I won't be at all surprised to see the mighty tactical king that is Mr Butcher, play the same team for this game again. I fully expect to see Tokely stay at centre-half, Odhiambo down the middle and Ross staying in on the left. After all, it worked in the last game!
  2. True, but the best managers were the ones who put out on a show for their supporters. The Shankly's, the Ferguson's, the Busby's did that, even Paterson did that. The put out a team for the fans, and why? Because teams aren't successful without a good support and the more you put in, what you get out. We need more people with this mindset in football, because a team that don't entertain supporters have little to no future.
  3. I doubt I'd want to see Nick Ross played on the left again. I bet Butcher does though!
  4. For me, a wins an added bonus. Putting the league hopes aside for a minute, on the whole, when I watch football I want to be entertained. I want to see a team go out and play with courage and dignity, not shutting up shop and hoping for the best. In football terms, I don't ask for winning football, I ask for entertaining football.
  5. If anyone on here really cares about ICT as much as they say they do, then it's time with these Scottish Cup games to put aside the silly petty rivalry stuff and hope County get through. Simple, the more games they play the more they'll be tired and chances are the more injuries they pick. For now, County's progression in the cup could be the catalyst that ends their league title hopes.
  6. He never does. Quite ironic really.
  7. If that was the case then you'd put the left footed guy on the left, and played the right footed, inexperienced rookie in a more comfortable position.
  8. I said they should of done that months ago!
  9. Incorrect, what the poster is saying is playing Djebi-Zadi where Odhiambo was today ie - down the middle, not on the wing.
  10. I made a comment at the game and I stand by it still, that had Morton been able to create chances, then they'd be quite a good team. Some nice passing at times, unlike ICT's pump it up the park nonsense.
  11. The way I see it with Odhiambo, he's what I would call a "space player". He needs space to run into and attack at. There's no denying that he's quick and needs to be played in such a manner to exploit this feature. Today he was in the melee in the centre of the park and because he isn't particularly big or hefty, he just gets banged around and pushed off the ball. This is not the manner in which he should be played.
  12. Yeah, had it been a more natural left winger that been playing on the left, like Foran or Eagle for example, then putting Hayes there I could understand, but Ross is a right winger, very much a right winger.
  13. Mmmm, how did I know when I saw you'd posted, I just knew your post would be something about my line up? But seriously, I can see your point about Odhiambo, but I thought he was poor today, very poor.
  14. Whilst it wouldn't surprise me much to see Butcher go back to Rangers one day in some capacity, I can't see this one happening. Surely if they really were interested in Butcher, they'd have done their homework and seen that his contract was nearly up, and informed him of their move thus Butcher not signing on for another season with Rangers not having to pay ICT any compensation.
  15. I noticed today that once again this season, Butcher (like Brewster used to do) has not played the wingers on their natural sides. Today we saw Hayes on the right and Ross on the left, despite the fact that, yes you guessed it, Hayes is left footed while Nick Ross is right footed - and Hayes is very left footed might add. It didn't take until about 70 or so minutes for the team to cotton on that his ain't a good idea. Surely it would be better to put the wingers on their natural sides, after all you wouldn't play Tokely at left back and Golly at right back now would you? Discuss.
  16. For me (and remember Foran is out suspended) - Esson Tokely Bulvitis Munro Golabek Hayes Duncan Cox McBain Sanchez Rooney Subs - Allison, Proctor, Odhiambo, Djebi-Zadi, Ross
  17. Even though he does come in and out of games, the team today didn't look have as good without him.
  18. I agree with the OP, I thought he was rather bad today.
  19. I seem to recollect Butcher saying recently that he likes "ugly football", well he got what he wanted cause that performance was rotten. No doubt he'll be saying in the week to the press what an amazing result it was and how Odhiambo is a revelation and the greatest player he's ever seen!
  20. Was Rooney not playing? Was Sanchez playing?
  21. A good 3 points, but in truth that performance was shocking. Esson had little to do, Golabek played well and Rooney's main good moment was setting up the goal. Hayes was hot and cold. Of the rest, pretty poor to be honest. Besides Ross's goal he was rather ineffective, Tokely hasn't a clue at centre-half and how Odhiambo got MOTM, let alone stayed on the park for as long as he did is unbelievable - he was pretty bad throughout. Why was Eagle and Stratford on? Why wasn't Sanchez on from the start or on early in the second half? Why was every opportunity wasted as a long ball? Seriously, that was nothing but a punt-fest today. Truly shocking, but a wins a win.
  22. HT - ICT 1-1 Morton FT - ICT 3-1 Morton ICT 1st scorer - Rooney Morton 1st scorer - Weatherson Attendance - 2,953
  23. Shinnie's away on loan at Forres just now.
  24. If that is the case, I hope Butcher plays Hayes and Ross on their correct sides.
