  1. aye............happy days Alex Hot dog and five pints please.
  2. fromsneck I also thought he was a bit anonymous, but hey we cannae fault his ability to get the goals out of nothing. I would also rather see Dingwall stay up..........(are we the same person?)
  3. As Cilla said............Surprise surprise Look what a grumpy old Maurice had to say yesterday................ Motherwell manager Maurice Malpas was furious with his players after their 2-0 defeat in Inverness. "I have to apologise to the fans, it's a long distance to come for a performance like that," he said. "I have an honest bunch of players but they did not turn up today - it was imposters who turned up. "It's the worst performance since I came to the club. I was disgusted by it. We were insipid, we had no urgency at all." At no stage did Motherwell look like scoring and Malpas added: "If the youth team put in a performance like that I would get rid of them. "Unless (assistant manager) Paul Hegarty can persuade me otherwise those players will be playing for the reserves next midweek."
  4. Well I woke up Sunday morning, With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt. And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad, So I had one more for dessert. Then I fumbled through my closet for my clothes, And found my cleanest dirty shirt. An' I shaved my face and combed my hair, An' stumbled down the stairs to meet the day. I'd smoked my brain the night before, On cigarettes and songs I'd been pickin'. But I lit my first and watched a small kid, Cussin' at a can that he was kicking. Then I crossed the empty street, 'n caught the Sunday smell of someone fryin' chicken. And it took me back to somethin', That I'd lost somehow, somewhere along the way. On the Sunday morning sidewalk, Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned. 'Cos there's something in a Sunday, Makes a body feel alone. And there's nothin' short of dyin', Half as lonesome as the sound, On the sleepin' city sidewalks: Sunday mornin' comin' down. In the park I saw a daddy, With a laughin' little girl who he was swingin'. And I stopped beside a Sunday school, And listened to the song they were singin'. Then I headed back for home, And somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin'. And it echoed through the canyons, Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday. Do do do do do do do do, Do do do do do do do, Do do do do do do do do, Do do do do do do do. To fade just a wee bit of Kris k for U

  9. If i may add, Caff is no right back, but we had no other options, he did ok. Watching Tokely in the reserves the other night, he was way too good for anything the gers youngsters had to offer, he stood out as a class above the rest. He has to deal with the trickiest players from the opposition and he still has time to attack. I agree his crosses are not too good, but Hart and Rankin apart, we struggle to deliver the telling balls into the box. Caff filled a space, I think he has something to offer us, maybe not as the main centre back, but as a sweeper or in front of a big boy. Personally, I thought Caff was posted missing a few times but no worries.
  10. Theres an okie in Culboke.................tam the bam
  11. Yep, the three points and a home win over a dismal Motherwell side were very weklcome. It all happened in the first half and as usual at the other end of the park. Dargo latched on to two balls and hey presto! two nil up and cruisin. We then produced the move of the season involving thirty four people, including the lineman, both managers, three people from behind the dugout, four ball boys, both sets of players, and a man walking his dog outside the stadium..............unfortunately Richie Hart curled his shot high and wide of the keepers right hand angle. Thus endeth the entertainment. The second half was just going through the motions, with us giving Well the ball...........and them giving it back to us, to be honest it was not pretty, but if you were offered a two nil win in the Innes beforehand, you may well have chewed the arm off for it. Well were as poor a team as has been up here this year, Macdonald apart he did try but Dodsy was up to him. MoM.....................nobody shone, the ref maybe for his first half performance and the man in the pie booth for quick service. Patti did ok, not enough decent service, enigma Duncan was just that????? Fraser untroubled, Caff ok, Dods ok, Munro ok, Hastings ok, Hart better than ok, Duncan ok I suppose, Rankin ok, patti ok+, Bayne ok+ and Dargo.....you can't take away his goals for us record has to scrape a plus as well. The whole Motherwell team were a B minus. Strange atmosphere these games, even the drummer was silent, performing mime solos on the drums just does not work.........sort it out...........C A L E Y clap clap clap Forgot to add, apart from the drummer being broken, McGarry copped a thumper of a volley in a nasty area much to the amusement of the North Stand..........well done for stopping the ball ya wee shite............retribution.
  12. anyway bet Rory scores today Hairy, what have you been smokin :011: I'll eat clacher if he scores today :005:
  13. Much of the resentment probably stems from the fact that he came from County and he could not get a regular game for them, albeit curtailed by injury problems. McSweggan has scored a few hat-tricks over the years and was in the Scotland squad a few times. At his peak he was a decent player who would have been welcomed at ICT with open arms, but, he has seen better days although his experience on the ball is not in doubt. Time stands still for nobody, for Gary, the ICT experience has just arrived too late. As said before, he came here as a stop gap striker, that I believe is where the union should end, but no ill feelings from tm4tj camp.
  14. girls girls, put your handbags away :015: by the way clachy, I don't tend to comment on the 'mistakes' from the dugout because we don't know if they are mistakes. Everything is hypothetical ie assumed by hypothesis. Who am I to say if he had done this or done that , it would have made matters better.........or worse. It is all based on assumption. If that is the decision made by the management team then they rise or fall by that, I just go along with it, but not necessarily agree with it, the hooking of Black V Celtic springs to mind, but suggestions that he was knackered end all arguments on that one. Playing Rory so often as well, but it's his choice, I don't see these guys on a daily basis to enable me to form such opinions as to their ability to perform in any particular game, and two heads are better than one. I would rather back the management team than constant change the record routines after his job every other weekend, after all we are staying up for another season, and that, like it or not is the realism of the ICT squad at present. Call me easily pleased if you like, but don't call me early. ps, don't ban Hairy Chipper from your life, it will be a dull place without him :003: sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me :010:

  16. If it's anything like last year the infrastructure was a joke. Yes there were buses............but try getting a few thousand drunk dudes onto a handful of buses..............it just won't work. I went to collect my son and as I reached the roundabout as you leave Inverness, people were already arriving on foot from Dores..........six miles or so. From there until I found him about a mile from the site, it was a steady flow of jaywalkers. I am surprised no one was knocked down as when traffic came towards you, you could see nothing. All in all it took something like three hours for a journey that normally takes about twenty minutes. I hope they have organised something better this year, one way round trip or whatever, but last year was chaos at the end.
  17. Proposed to build two fabricated buildings including gym/indoor training area and clubhouse/bar/cafe/tv room for members. The plan is for them to go up behind the North stand. £150k investment.
  18. 1-0 to ICT with Zander finishing neatly from fifteen yards after mugging the defender on the edge of the box in second half. Bitterly cold night with little excitement to warm up the fans. Rory kept us on our toes though, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons. I'm afraid the lad just looks disinterested. Unable to get off the ground he all too often got bundled aside and even managed a fresh air swipe near the end. I would love to see him come good, but on this performance it does not look likely. Ally Ridgers made a couple of excellent saves and the gers keeper likewise, but we were mostly inept in the last third. Rossco and Black played but the pick of ther bunch was probably Vigurs who has a good first touch. We should have won more convincingly against a very young Rangers side but were unable to create much. Rossco had a close range try volleyed well over and Sweggers curled one wide, that was about it. Hard work, but a win all the same. Would I give Gary McSwegan another contract..............no. Black never got booked, but did injure one bloke. pffft, you beat mee to it, have you no ironing to do?

  21. Took the afternoon off from my busy schedule to see how our feeder boys are coping with their predicament. Well, to be truthfull they look and played like a team destined for Peterhead. They lacked conviction, lacked cohesion, lacked flair, lacked......well just lacked. They went a goal down early on as the Diamonds started the better, with Proctor about to play a prominent part in proceedings. Twigg I believe knocked the ball in from close range. However County got themselves a foothold and a cross from the wing was bulletted home with the head to equalise. Just as I was warmly applauding the stunning strike at the far end, the announcer spoiled it by blaming Proctor for an own goal. I almost fell asleep in the hazy sunshine as Dingwall pressed for another goal but it remained 1-1 at half time. Suddenly I was woken by the angry chants of "you're a cheat referee as in fairly quick succession about fifteen mins, difficult to tell when you are not too interested, two Gudgie coffs were sent for a badly needed early bath, McCulloch and Scott apparently. The pendulum had swung in the Diamonds favour and it was backs to the wall for the last quarter. Airdrie appeared to miss a couple of decent chances............well sitters...........and County were left hitting on the break. Game sort of fizzled out with County on the back foot but they live to fight another day. Spotted one or two ICT fans, but they will remain anonymous. Morgan played for an hour, easy to see why we don't need him, Proctor looked OK for Airdrie, OG apart, Cowie, never noticed him, maybe he is resigned to the drop and offski. The rest...............pffft, it looks like the font of footballers has run dry. On this form, County better look forward to the next step down. :020: :020: :020: Added the crowd, announced as 2717, Airdrie must have had about 350-400 fans at game.

  23. Pay no attention to midge, the Richard Wilson of ICT and anything pertaining to Inverness. I really don't know why it bothers to call itself an ICT fan, or does it, for nothing positive ever comes out of it.
  24. re Dunfermline always poor........ .........were they not the first Scottish team to play European football when the Big Man himself, Jock Stein was the manager? Was either them or Hibs. (Wiki just told me it was Hibs......Hibernian were the first British club to appear in European competition, in its inaugural 1955/56 season. Hibernian's participation had little to do with qualification as they accepted the invitation to European competition that was declined by the four teams that finished above them in the Scottish League. Playing their first game against German side Rot-Weiss Essen, Hibernian won 4-0 in Essen and the return tie in Scotland ended in a 1-1 draw. Hibernian went on to reach the semi-finals, only to be defeated by a Stade de Reims side inspired by the great French footballer Raymond Kopa.) thanks Wik. :003: My mate Wikipedia said "Dunfermline Athletic won the Scottish Cup in 1961 and 1968, and played regular European football in the UEFA and European Cup Winners Cups throughout the 60s and early 70s. They reached the semi-final of the European Cup Winners Cup in season 68-69, losing 1-2 on aggregate to eventual winners Slovan Bratislava. On the way to the semi-final they beat APOEL, Olympiacos and West Bromwich Albion. In 1962 they reached the Cup-Winners Cup Quarter Finals. On they way they beat St. Patricks Athletic of Ireland and FK Vardar of Yugoslavia." look at this Dunfermline Athletic have played competitive European matches in the following countries: Belgium: Anderlecht Croatia: Dinamo Zagreb Cyprus: APOEL Nicosia Czech Republic: Spartak Brno Denmark: Boldklub 1903 Copenhagen England: Everton, West Bromwich Albion France: Girondins de Bordeaux Germany: VfB Stuttgart Greece: Olympiacos Hungary: Újpesti Dozsa Iceland: FH Hafnarfjordur Ireland: St Patricks Athletic FYR Macedonia: Vardar Skopje Norway: Frigg Oslo Poland: Gwardia Warsaw Slovakia: Slovan Bratislava Spain: Valencia, Athletic Bilbao, Real Zaragoza Sweden: Örgryte Ok, maybe it was a wee while ago, but these teams have history, something we will achieve in the years to come hopefully.
