  1. Nonsense!! Maybe you don't appreciate how many lives were touched by this accident, here in Aberdeen. The pebble in the pond syndrome. Whilst the biggest effect(loss) is in the centre where the pebble hits, the ripples go out to so many more. My 11am appointment, the day following the accident, was cancelled, by a very tearful mother of the client, on the accident day, who informed me that her son had been unable to get on to the fateful chopper!! The tears were relief!! As I stated in an earlier post, just check out the Ultras tomorrow to see the depth of feeling here. Maybe it has passed by Inverness but Aberdeen is still hurting. .
  2. All i can say on this is: Please respect this and don't boo or anything bad ok. I think i can probably trust you all because this was a terrible tragedy. Why would someone boo why would anyone even do something like that They may not 'boo' but they may shout 'Came on Caley' as they came up the steps into the seated area, without realising that the silence is in progress. That is all! A reminder does not go wrong and is not meant as a slight on anyone. Of all the supports traveling to matches, I would think we have the most responsible and the silence for this sad accident will be totally observed, by both sets of supporters, in my opinion. The Red Ultras have gone further and have visuals made to show their sorrow. .
  3. Holding your breath for 15 minutes is not very loud!
  4. Now, look here Johnboy, you are sounding as if you have something against the Gaelic!!
  5. I think our ffirst goal came from a Grant punt upfield and our scond came from.....wait for it...a throw in by..... none other than .........LIONEL!! And you were going to ditch the pair for the game!!
  6. Don, knowing your feeling for the Gaelic, maybe a wee welcome in the 'mother tongue' would go down well!
  7. I think we have to realise that Aberdeen are pushing for a third place finish so for us to win by less than three clear goals must not be seen by our fans as a bad performance! I know 6-0 for us is on the cards but be grateful! Rossco gets two, Grantie gets one and, guess what, Barrowload gets a hattrick! Now I am dreaming.
  8. I was disappointed to note on a thread on here, regarding where to meet for the Dons match, that it was stated that the BonAccord Golf Club - the nearest club/building to the park- did not make someone welcome. This is totally not the case, unless the doorman felt the person was 'out of order' I have had the assurance from Duggie, steward (exInverness Caley manager - the hotel), Charlie, secretary and Rickie, the club captain that ICT fans are very welcome and indeed they would be disappointed if their past provision of hospitality is not again taken up by the fans. Well priced drink and very affordable food. Our colours hang proudly above the club till and the club boast of this presentation, to them, by ICT. It will be super to see all the locals in high spirits, poor souls, before the match and drowning their sorrows thereafter. Look forward to a BIG turnout.
  9. As long as this does not result in 'player power' and Rangers players forget to perform tomorrow. I would have preferred if this 'storm in a teacup' was next week after they had beat Falkirk 4-0!!
  10. Gee, thanks for that - is that the old Dundee United guy? He is the/his assistant. Well, now I know!!
  11. I would suspect that a plan was put in place following our last match and the assistant given instructions. He, the assistant, has managerial experience in his own right at a level I would suggest, higher than our previous manager and will have been capable of carrying them out. I also think that in this day and age, TB would have been in constant contact with the club and his assistant, so let's hope his wanderings will be rewarded with a win for us, as he must be on a high after last night.
  12. Today (Thursday) Burley has stated that Ferguson is still a squad player and will still have the captains band!! What the potential loss of ticket sales to the Rangers faithful will do. If he played for other than an OF team his feet would not have touched the ground, he would have been out the door so quickly!
  13. I watched the game on TV, live, and came away thinking we had a lucky escape, no stars on show for us, except Gordon and with palpitations due to the last five minutes. I watched the BBC highlights later and guess what? We were wonderful! Excellent play, excellent players, it could have been ten! (exaggeration) Not sure if I was so on edge watching or scared when watching that I was not able to appreciate the finer points or was it very good BBC editing! I thought the our game suited Iceland, we were not playing down the flanks enough - BBC, we played down the flanks. Hatton did not run up the wing enough - BBC, Hatton was up the wing a lot. Brown did not play his normal forceful game - BBC, Brown very industries. Naysmith dodgy - BBC, Naysmith solid. Gordon was excellent - BBC, Gordon was excellent! As Meatloaf would say - one out of five is sh..! Anyway a win is a win! Well done!
  14. Sorry Kingmills but semi-finalists are never remembered. What really matters is how many of these boys are capable of stepping up to the next level and lets not forget that the reserve league is being scrapped by the SPL. Good youth teams will not help the first team but a development programme pruducing good players will! I can't believe that you are not offering praise to our team for progressing to this level. Like Kingsmills, I do think they have done so well for the club.
  15. That was the time! In Magaluf I think, he(JC) was so wound up he relegated his best keeper to the reserves/bench until they hit rock bottom and only then played him. Child like!! Can you imagine Fergie in the same situation, he would have kicked lumps out of the keeper and done the same each time he came off the park and then finished it. Keeper learnt his lesson, Fergie still played good keeper and the manager would still be seen as the manager, by the rest of his players! The info above I have been given by a staff member at Pittodrie who I sometimes golf/pint with and he just thinks it is the severance costs that is stopping a change at the moment!
  16. Not intended to highlight you or anyone in particular Johnboy, just pointing out how things change and maybe putting some of the ridiculous abuse that our ex Manager has received on CTO in perspective. No offence meant and apologise if this is how you see it. Now Sorted, I hope our management team are not reading this. All you have to do now is find the other 19 and you will realise being an ICT football fan does have it's ups and downs and very often, short memories! I do think however, that TB is without doubt more mature as a person than CB. Unlike CB, he will be able to accept a situation and therefore address it. When the newness wears off, he will still be able to freshen up the squad from both within and on the touchline and not as was seen from CB's last days, with a degree of fingers and arms being crossed. His assistant must also play a more helpful part and therefore be worth more to him than CB's assistant. Their collective standing in the game will, I hope, bring in new faces when the window opens, who would never consider us under CB. All in all a better future for the club and the fans! Now that is something for the archives in two years time! .
  17. Should have read Langfield!! Easy seen I'm a CaleyThistle supporter - can't even get their keepers name right!!
  18. Calderwood shows, unfortunately, all normal human traits - seen in a primary school playground. He has his pals (Young and co) and they can back chat him anytime. His main bully target (Foster) He spoke back and the rest is history. He is prepared to let Aberdeen, the team, suffer due to his petulance. Latchford ('My international goalie' JC) was only returned to the team when it was bottom of the league due to Calderwoods petty lip. Foster and Latchford - playground bully targets - 'Your not getting into my side see!' This mature manager targets Aluko, the youngest, most inexperienced player on the park, publicly and verbally abuses him, for all to here, on his lack of defensive duties and he was the left winger!! I will predict that the next manager into Pittodrie, with the current players, will carry out a, Butcher like, transformation! .
  19. I take it John, that with our Scotland make-shift team, you are siding with the bookies and giving us no chance this next two games?
  20. Hi S1 I have never, at any time, differed with anyone on this forum re tactics - I could have, with my apprenticeship in football management, time served, on the terracing at the jags park! This, I would submit, is the level of tactical understanding the ex Caley fans aspire to. However, I do differ with some comments on here and get a reaction, when I point out the obvious. Attacking a player, via a chrystal ball, is nonsense. Stating that players are afraid to pass the ball to a fellow player/ are covering for a fellow player, is absolute tosh! The manager standing on the line, sober, having coached the players all week cannot see this?? Don't be daft! He would have the problem player off the park in two seconds flat and replaced. Our tactics on Saturday - we went for it when we lost the goal(s) and left gaps at the back. Is this a fault? If we had managed to get a point it was a good exercise, we lost another two goals because of this, so what, it was worth a try but it did make the defence look iffy! Bad management? Don't think so! Bad fans reaction? Maybe! .
  21. St Johnstone are on record, want to keep him until the end of the season. I wondered when I read it, as he did not get very good reports, on here, when he signed for us. Maybe he will be in the team in place of Lionel.
  22. You also now have joined the ranks of knowing a players ability better than our International assistant manager, ex England captain, ex Rangers captain, professional TV pundit, ICT manager and of course his assistant manager. Now I don't know if Hastings, at this time, is better than Lionel and without Mystic Megs ball I don't know how players will perform in the future but I do think our well qualified management team are in a better position to judge! For the record, I feel that Duff should be introduced sooner rather than later as, I think, he will accept responsibility as he did when he came on late in the OF game and strolled through the remainder of the match.
  23. Oops! Belated Happy Birthday! It's your own fault - you don't look/behave any older! .
  24. absent friend replied to AJS's topic in Caley Thistle
You would think our management team would have noticed this, if they were worth their salary! Oh! - Wait now.... the honeymoon is over, that management team know nothing in comparison to some posters, I hope they have heard of the 20! .
  25. Now what is wrong with a rose coloured ersehole?? I could think of a worse colour! Gain respect by bad mouthing your own players? By challenging people to fight? Don't think so! .
